And I simultaneously already desperately miss DH... and I want to kill him.
We drove all day yesterday and today, stayed in a motel last night but I was too tired to tfc. Tonight, I'm finally alive in my hotel room with just the kids, and I think my kids are finally all asleep. I've currently got HGTV on because flip out flip was new and I missed the first run.
I miss H . He didn't come, originally because we thought he would be working as much as he could before his surgery. Then he didn't come because apparently, he has decided he doesn't like my family. I don't know. This is the first time in the 6 years we've been together that we have been apart for more than just me in the hospital after birth.
I'm pissed because he said he was relieved that he was home alone, and because he's apparently sleeping by 9pm. The kids tried calling him before bed and he didn't answer. Annoying af. I just really hope he isn't drinking.
Tomorrow I have to see family members I haven't seen in at least a decade and 100lbs ago. This side of the family is remarkably tactless, so I'm anticipating many comments about my still pregnant looking body—and I feel sick with the annoyance already.
Today went great. We had lots of fun. I took the kids sightseeing along the coast, and down to Jasper Beach in Machias. It's all rocks, and really neat. The older three all tasted the water to see if it was really salty, lol.
Talked to H this morning, and will again shortly so the kids can say goodnight. He's on his way to Wisconsin with his brother. I guess they've got to finish up FIL 's house so it can go on the market soon.
On the super annoying side, H's STD *finally* came through. We're getting $62/week. Amazing how helpful that will be. NOT. 😠 Short term disability was supposed to be 2/3 of his standard paycheck. $62 is no where near that. I'm really frustrated and annoyed at that amount. It's almost more of an insult than getting nothing! Any other experiences with STD?

So today was pretty good overall, with a few bumps along the way. We did the "family" thing and did a bunch of touring with the relatives and kids. Most of the places I'd seen before (after all, I did live here before) but it was still fun to see my kids do it.
But of course, every place was a hurry up and wait situation. And lunch was unreasonably stressful. My cousins all ordered lobster and shellfish dinners, and I'm terribly allergic. So none of my kids have ever tried shellfish... and they kept splashing and Charlie kept grabbing their plates. It was stressful. But luckily, no one had any issues.
