We have the City Select from our first DD (got an awesome deal on the 2013 model when the 2015 came out). We never bought or found the need for the car seat adapter since the seat lays almost flat and we just took her out of the car seat and tucked her in the stroller seat with blankets. Also, she was born in January so we didn't go out very often until Spring. Our twins will be here before the end of August so we'll hopefully be out and about more often before winter. Am I going to regret not buying the car seat adapters with two babies? Did you find them a necessity?

I don't have them. However, I was given one of those car seat frames for twins that I use when I drive anywhere with the babies. We only use the city select when we walk from our house since it's so big and heavy.

Might be a personal preference, but I am all for them. Since we've switched to convertible car seats, going out is significantly more annoying... Instead of just clicking them into the stroller with the car seat adapters, I have to unbuckle both from car seats, rebuckle both into stroller, and repeat in reverse 10 minutes later when errand is done. Honestly I hate it and wish we'd stayed in the infant seats longer because of this.
Also if they are asleep in the car seat it will wake them up to transfer them to the stroller now, whereas before it didn't.
I haven't used ours yet, but we got the adapters to make life easier. I figure anything that makes life with twins simpler will allow me to get out more often.
I don't know how expensive the adapters are but I got my DSNG used for $20- we used that until they were big enough to go in our Britax. It's much lighter for trips, too
My twins were born in August. I had the car seat adapters but didn't use it once. When they're that small they don't wake up when transferred around. And when they're at the age when they do begin to wake up (around 3 months or so) they're big enough for the regular seats anyway. I don't know. I got mine for free so I didn't pay attention to see if it was "worth it" or not but before I knew they were 2 or 3 months old and that's when I started taking them out and they did really well in the regular seats (with blankets initially).

This is what I'm thinking. We have Chicco car seats so each adapter is $60! I just have a hard time believing I'll get that much use out of them. I think I'm going to wait and see how it goes. I can always order them from Amazon and get them in 2 days.
