I love how she says she talks out her kids' emotions before it makes them ill. The little girl is ONE! I'm sure she can be completely rational about her emotions and use her positive vibes to ward off bacterial infections and viruses *eye roll*.
The two main parts in wtf-ing are Ulysses will learn to read found and write when it naturally comes to him? The placenta I'm assuming is not still in the mother? But the article says they are still attached to her for a week.
The biggest alarm bells for me are she wouldn't seek medical attention for meningitis or cancer. I think that's disgraceful. After reading the thread on parenting where a toddler died in the exact circumstance of being untreated for meningitis I think they need a CTJ with the real world.
This. I kept trying to figure out how the kids stayed physically attached to her... you deliver the placenta.
In general, this whole article is a lot of WTF for me. Normally I have a live and let live mentality, but this goes beyond that. Not offering their children basic medical care? I just hope to God neither of those kids contracts an illness that their mom can't "talk" out of them.
Extended nursing is nbd to me and lotus births aren't my style, but denying your child medical care is negligent and pisses me off. Their delusional views cloud rational judgment, which is unfortunate for those sweet kids.

I have lots of feels on this.
Agree. For me if the article was written focused more on 'parents deny children medical care even for life threatening illnesses' that's enough said for me. It's criminal. The rest of the article is whatever
"This is because the couple believe most major childhood illnesses are caused by emotional distress and the children won’t get seriously ill as long as they talk about their problems."
Right because talking about Cancer is going to make it go away? I would hope they would change their tune if either of their children got seriously ill.
The medical ideas are appalling. What also gets me is the "homeschooling" that she is doing. Homeschooling is a touchy topic for me because I have had so many important people in my life put at a huge disadvantage because they were "homeschooled" by someone who was either incapable or unmotivated to do it properly. I personally was homeschooled extremely well but grew up not wanting to tell anyone I was homeschooled because of the (unfortunately often warranted) stereotypes. To me, this couple is not "homeschooling" if there is no actual education taking place. Sounds more like she is unschooling, and that poor kid will spend his life paying the price. I've seen it way too many times, personally and professionally.

Yes x 1000.. Also her comment about the cord "If we're supposed to cut the cord, we'd be born with scissors...." Okay, but does it follow that you don't cut your hair, trim your nails, or wipe your ass?? There's hippie natural, and then there's stupid...

Along with the homeschooling subject, she says the five year old is a "natural born leader" and she lets him guide her. Uh, no. That's called you needing to parent your child. Any five year old will be the boss given the chance.
