Oh heybulldog56 I'm so, so sorry the news wasn't good. Lots of hugs and hair pats for you. Please snuggle your pup and give her all the love you can in the next few days. I hope the antibiotics work for her, but if not, I hope you know that she knows how much you love her.
Thanks for the link silvermelody. That's actually really helpful. It's only confirming what I suspect is coming but it's oddly helping me accept the decision I will probably be making in a few days. If that makes any sense.
That was my intention. My vet had so much hope but she didn't see my poor girl struggling every day.
Other advice: take some photos with her if you can get some where she isn't totally miserable. I have a lack of photos from the weeks before it got really bad because I was spending all my time caring for her.
And spoil the crap out of her. Now is the time for people food and walks to her favorite places and her favorite toys to destroy.
I really hope she recovers and this post is moot though.
Here I am again with bad news. I am so sorry for being such a downer lately. The news from the vet wasn't good. Her heart is the issue. She was there all day getting antibiotics and fluids. She has been sent home for 24 hours. We will meet with the vet again Thursday morning to deternine whether the antibiotics have helped her/improved her quality of life or not. I am heartbroken. I know the answer. She isn't eating, she seems so tired, and miserable. Poor thing doesn't want to move from her bed. I have been crying all afternoon. I could use a lot of hair pats and hugs. Thanks for listening (reading).
Big big big hugs I was a mess for a very long time after getting our corgi's results. She lived with us another month before I finally decided she'd had enough. I still cry about it now, just a lot less frequently, and it's been a couple years.

heybulldog56, I'm just seeing this post now. I'm so sorry you didn't get better news. My heart breaks for you. I hope by some miracle the meds help her tremendously.
