It seems like so many of us are second timers (or beyond) with little ones at home. Is anyone else still nursing? Do you plan to continue, wean, go with the flow? BBQ (DS) turned 2 this month and nurses at naptime and bedtime. I hope he will lose interest, but that seems unlikely. It doesn't hurt as much this time as it did in my last pregnancy, but still not pleasant.

Thanks for making this thread I was too nervous to ask even though I wanted to. I am still currently nursing my DD who is 14 months. I was actually hoping to wean her at 12 months, but girl has a strong aversion to any milk or milk like product and a ridiculous love of the boob. I'm now kinda hoping she self weans especially because we've had some rough days with nipple pain, which i cannot necessarily related to just this pg or if it's teething or some combination thereof. If anybody has experience with any similar situation I would LOVE to hear your input.

Still nursing here. Not painful yet (I thought it was starting but it turns out I had a clog on that side.) She's turning one next week, so I'm not really looking at weaning super soon, but we'll see how pregnancy goes with all that.
I'm still nursing my DD, who turned 1 last week. She loves cow's milk (just introduced it yesterday), so we are slowly staring the weaning process (I'm in no huge rush and anticipate the bed time nursing being difficult to stop). I still have 400+ ounces of milk in the freezer though, so she will continue to get that in her sippy cup until it's gone. We were nursing 4x/day but dropped to 3 this past weekend with no issues. I'm kind of looking forward to not nursing for a while between babies, but it also makes me really sad to think about being done nursing baby #1 completely!

Happy early/late birthday to all those babies! Not to minimize other's decisions and opportunities to breastfeed, but congrats to us. Beyond a year is a big accomplishment!
My OBGYN just said stop if I notice cramping during or after, otherwise nothing special.

I'm curious about your OB telling you to stop if you notice cramping. DD still nurses 3-5 x a day and I can tell my cramping and bleeding get a little worse after, but I haven't gotten to talk to my actual doctor yet to see what she says.
I'm still nursing DS (15 months). We're down to nap and bed, only 4-7 minutes max each time. For now we're going to keep going as is, although I've been considering dropping bedtime for a while now. Tonight is going to be a trial run to see if he'll go to bed without nursing before being put down awake since I'm going out for a couple hours that overlap normal bedtime. If it goes well, we'll look at dropping bedtime sooner, if not we'll wait and see.

I looked on LLL and kellymom and couldn't find anything about stopping when cramping, maybe it's just conservative old school approach? Maybe worth a call to your OB to check?
We're still nursing at 20 months. My last pregnancy it got painful and I pretty well dried up, but DD did not curr. Then after I delivered, my milk came in and her love of the boob was even more. So far, no pain yet. I'm just following her lead, and it doesn't look like we'll be weaning soon. Work days is just morning and bedtime, but on weekends it's on demand. I don't really want to tandem...

I saw the Kelly mom link after googling. I just didn't know if this was something new that I might not have heard. Thank you.

@justinslovo I'd tear up, too. One night does not mean the complete end of nursing, though, even though it's hard when it hairband. You'll get through this.
I am nursing my 17 month old DD. We have been slowly weaning since about 14 months and are down to morning, night and some naps. I honestly don't really want to be nursing her when I am super pregnant. Not sure whether we will cut out morning or night next. I am also having some nipple pain the past week or two.

I am still nursing my 19 month old. It's only 2-3 times per day. I always planned to let him wean, do we'll see. It is just starting to hurt a little, I actually thought it might be him causing it since he latched a little hard a few times. Just recently decided it was the pregnancy.
I still nurse my 2 year old. For the most part I love our nursing relationship and have no plans to stop unless he decides to wean on his own, don't see that happening anytime soon though

I'm still nursing my 10 month old. My only plans for weaning are that after her first Birthday I will wean off pumping at work and have her drink cows milk at daycare.
@justinslovo, I am impressed with your response. I am glad for you that it feels right!
I guess I'm trying to convience myself... She didn't need it anymore, but I still wanted her too.
Absolutely get it. Actually on Wednesday my DD fell asleep before I got home. I was incredulous- how could she possibly fall asleep without the magic boob!? We want to be wanted/needed, and it is bittersweet when they grow up and get all independent. Good luck on your weaning journey!!
So DD (just turned 1) was nursing 4x day until a couple of weeks ago when we dropped her mid morning nursing, so we were down to 3x day (Wake up, PM nap, bedtime). Well, I just put her down for her afternoon nap without nursing...leaving us with just AM and PM sessions. She's asleep, I'm sitting here crying. I'd love the freedom back, and she loves her cow's milk and food so she doesn't NEED to be nursing (I do know the benefits of continuing, but 1 year was my goal and I figured we'd slowly wean now that she's 1 and I'm pregnant), but I'm so sad! I can't even imagine dropping the last 2 in the coming months.
