My H is finally off work today after a brutally long, tiring stretch for all of us, and I got to sleep in! I didn't wake up until 9:30 and I honestly can't remember the last time I slept that late. It was very, very needed.
I hope all of you ladies are able to get some rest or me time in this weekend, too.

I'm having DD's baptismal gown made from my wedding dress. We are going to see it this afternoon. I'm excited but nervous!!! What if I hate it? I gave the seamstress pictures of what I liked and I've seen pictures of her work but you just never know....
We aren't showing until this afternoon so I did chores this am and then took L and myself to breakfast. And then some retail therapy in the cute downtown where the horse show is based. There was a kids store with baby/kids clothes to die for. The prices were choke worthy but they were having a sale so I did buy L a cute dress. And I finally got one of those silicone teething necklace things. Best decision ever. Tonight I meet hubs for dinner at one of our fave restaurants (he is driving down this afternoon) and tomorrow we pack up an go home after my students show.
Spent the day at my mom's company BBQ. S had a blast with her co-worker's kids. M loved all of the attention. Now we're hanging out waiting for H to come over. I'm pooped. Between the parade, M's party girl habits, and today, I can hardly keep my eyes open. I think we're going to hook up the dryer and do some cleaning tomorrow. I am so excited to be able to do multiple loads of laundry at once!
I worked today so E hung out with my mom and went swimming. I nearly killed myself running in the 100 degree heat when I got home, but it was good for the soul. Can't wait until it's cool enough to run with E in the jogging stroller!

It's great when my H is home since we rarely see him while he's working, but honestly it feels like I have a houseguest. It's one of those things where it's fun while he's here, but it's also chaotic, our routine is thrown off, and I halfway look forward to him leaving again.
Also, dd1 turns into an emotionally impossible daddy's girl basket case when he's around so that makes things extra fun.
At least I have more time to browse the Nordstrom website while he's home. :/

Is this where I admit my last shopping spree was at old navy and target? I'm so cheap. I cannot fathom spending that much on pants and a shirt. Explain to me how you know you'll love them enough to drop that kind of cash? I'm vein*. Serious. Help me break my ways.
Eta: the fact it auto corrected "cheap" into "vein" (although misspelled) cracks me up. It should say cheap.
He's not really gone all that often, he just works crazy long days - like leaves at 6 am and isn't home until 10 pm or later. He's in the film industry, so it's all very unpredictable and annoying.
I guess I just know what I like and what styles I gravitate toward and what will last. I don't mind spending money on things I know will last years. I still wear things from Target and Old Navy but I pepper in nicer pieces when I can.

I've gone through phases like that, but I often end up hating the cheap stuff I've settled for and barely wearing it, or hating it every time I do wear it. I'd rather spend more money on something I wear often and feel happy/comfortable/attractive in. Nordstrom has an amazing return policy, and free shipping both ways, so that helps, too.

I'm on your bench. ON and Target are my go to. Cheap here too. I also hate shopping. I know I need to do better though. The clothes really don't last.

I'm so worn down. My DH has also been working a lot lately with lots of evening meetings. Friday night he was *finally* home to help me put the DDs to bed, and there was a thunderstorm so they were crying and we were delaying bedtime a little bit, and then his firefighter pager went off, so he handed DD3 to me and ran out the door. So frustrating. It ended up being water in someone's basement, and he was back after about 45 min, but still. I'm so sick of being responsible for earning almost half of our income while being responsible for 80% of the childcare and 90% of the housework. Even the jobs that he's always been responsible for (e.g. dishes and cleaning the kitchen) he has just let me take over be default, as in, he just doesn't do it even when he is home. So if I want clean dishes or to see the kitchen counter, I have to do it. I know he's exhausted, but so am I. /rant
DH is a good guy, and we're both really ready for vacation. 7 more days... getting the suitcases out today.

I 100% agree. Most of the time the target/ON things don't get more than one or two seasons because it fell apart or it's too trendy

crimsonandclover - while you're in the states, will you be able to have your mom or other family member babysit for a while so you and your H can get some alone time to reconnect?

NellieOleson, the problem with 3 kids including 1 baby is that I feel like it's kind of a lot to ask someone to take on. :/ I'm sure my mom would be fine watching DDs 1+2, but also leaving her with DD3 would leave me with a huge load of guilt even if she agreed to do it for a few hours. We'll see. Maybe I can get someone else to come over and help her, too, so then it's 2:3.
I want booties like that &lsquared! So cute! I'm drinking wine outside, DH and his bro are here drinking beer. I wasn't planning on drinking but it's so good I hate more than one glass. So I guess I'll be defrosting a bag of pumped milk for DD when she wakes up. Oh well. I missed not having to limit my wine when I need a break.
kelltothekell riding boots never go out of style. I'm sure you'll be wearing them for years to come!
@lucanjo I know right? I've had a vision of that kind of boot in my head for so long and couldn't ever find something that I liked enough to buy. Finally found them and pulled the trigger!
