What do you use?
I'm in the market AGAIN, now that my backpack is ripping out. Sigh. What do you like? How much do you carry?
creepyeyeball, You have a larger family, too, have you found something that works for multiples? I know for a while you had 2 in diapers at the same time.
XP, I posted a similar question over on parenting.

I am not helpful...I gave up our diaper bag ages ago. I pack a reusable grocery bag every day. Usually water cups in ziplocks, snacks, sunscreen, and my wallet and phone. I keep diapers and wipes in the car and put them in if returning to the car will not be possible.

My mom bought me a really nice Vera Bradley one as a baby gift this time around. It's one of the large diaper bags they make. Before that I was using a random backpack.
My diaper bag is stuffed even at the large size. Between the baby's supplies, extra clothes and undies for the newly potty trained toddler, DS1s allergy/asthma supplies (Benedryl, epipens, inhaler, spacer), snack for all kids and my own stuff, it weighs like twenty pounds.

To be more specific, I carry the following:
Baby diapers/wipes/wetbag Pacis and a few tiny toys An extra change of clothes, socks, sunhat for baby (an extra blanket in winter) extra breast pads A nursing cover I never use An extra change of clothes and undies for DD2 DS1s allergy bag of supplies listed above Hairbrush and extra hair ties for the girls If we're going somewhere outdoors I add sunscreen/bug repellent snacks My stuff - keys, wallet, phone, chapstick, gum, pepper spray - kept in a separate bag within the diaper bag so I can pull it out easily
And then I will throw my Moby or Ergo on top if we're going somewhere where I need it.
I don't bring that big bag in places like the store with me. I leave it in the car and just pull out my little bag of stuff.
I abandoned the diaper bag very early and went with a small backpack. We travel light - a few diapers and a few snacks. We leave a larger bag with extra diapers and an emergency change of clothes in the trunk.
Leaving emergency essentials in a bag in the trunk is my favorite young children tip

I can totally commiserate on being the allergy sherpa, lol. Epis and benadryl for both kids (DS1 weighs enough to need the regular epi instead of the Jr now) plus inhalers for DS1's asthma. When I see women carrying those cute little cross-body bags tge size of a Sony discman I just laugh internally. Mine is a Mary Poppins bag, and my outside kids are all potty trained!

I hope to never have more than one in diapers. With DS I used the Skip Hop Versa and loved it. I'm sure it's too small for two in diapers, but I love most of Skip Hop's line, especially the bags that look more like purses.
We also bought an L.L. Bean backpack when DS was born to use for travel. It has held up amazingly well to daily use and DH is currently using it for work. It has lots of compartments and would be great for two in dipes.
When my Feb13 babies were born I got a Vera Bradley diaper bag. I love it, and it's still going strong 3.5 yrs later, even after adding baby #3.
I now routinely carry diapers/wipes for the baby, changing pad, 3 water bottles, extra clothes, potty seat covers, plastic table covers for the baby when eating out at restaurants, hand sanitizer, tissues, snacks, nursing cover, and a couple small toys. Oh, and my wallet and phone.

My packing list is very similar to creepyeyeball— minus the epipens. So much stuff!!! But of course, the moment you pull something out, that's the moment you need it. Bah.
Thanks for the suggestions! I really liked the backpack, but it's sooooo hot in the summer. And standard backpacks aren't big enough to hold the necessary crap i have. I think I may have to take a trip up to Buy Buy Baby to check out big bags.
