Can we talk about naps? How many, what time? How long? Where are they napping? I feel like I'm failing nap time and really need to get it figured out before I go back to work in a couple weeks so I'm not handing my mom a baby and saying good luck with naps.
We do 3-4 a day typically. Generally she stays awake for 90 min to 2 grain between naps, a bit longer before bed. Sometimes she will take a longer nap, typically the first or second nap of the day and that would be 1.5-2.5 hrs she has done 3 once or twice but extenuating circumstances usually cause 3. The other naps are 40-1h. Sometimes she hair does 4 short naps. All naps at home are in the PNP in the Merlin (where she sleeps at night) in a room by herself, we will be switch that to the crib as soon as it comes. If we are out and about she will naps in the stroller or the car seat, but those are not as good typically only 20-30 minutes, so I try to limit that to once a day. Right now with the move things are a bit off though and it's messing with her night sleep, so hopefully we can get back to a better schedule soon. Sleep begets sleep and I am f-Ing it up! For her last nap of the day we wake her at 5:30 if she isn't up, or if she makes it to 3 hrs I wake her to feed her, but other than that we let her sleep
We are also seeing 3-4 naps, ranging from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Always in the crib at home or daycare, but he naps in the carrier if we're out.
At night he sleeps in the Merlin without the pacifier but he naps in normal clothes with a paci (at least since he started daycare). We will put him in the Merlin for a nap at home if he's been fighting them, so we can get at least 1 decent nap on the weekends.
He generally gets about 3 hours of naps on average. I'd like a bit more, but it's not messing with his nighttime sleep, so I can't complain.
He usually takes 4 naps that are 30 minutes long. He sleeps in the bouncer for naps. I would love to get him into his crib. He sleeps in his crib just fine during the night, but won't have anything to do with it during the day. It would also be nice if he would sleep longer. I'm hoping daycare remedies some of this.

At 5 months, typically, he takes about 3-4 naps a day and the times and durations have gotten more predictable, thankfully. His morning nap is during the 9:00 hour. It's usually less than an hour. Then he takes an hour and a half to two hour nap in mid-afternoon and then another short nap around 4 or 5. He usually has just fallen asleep right when I pick him up at 5:30. He goes to bed around 7.
All naps are taken in a crib whether at daycare or at home.

Naps have been so inconsistent lately. He sleeps better in the swing, bouncer, and car seat during his naps. He only sleeps well in the crib at nite. He usually does 3-4 naps a day. They range from 30-1.5hrs. his long nap is usually mid day

This is us too. Mostly the swing for naps at home though.
J does 3-4 naps a day. Generally she takes one within an hour after getting up for the day in her swing while I eat breakfast. Sometimes I get 2 before noon, sometimes only one.
She naps well in the stroller- I generally have her completely reclined in the city mini gt and she likes the movement. Car seat is iffy. Most all of her at-home naps are in her swing or on me, although we've been incorporating more crib naps.

J typically naps after being awake for 1.5-2 hours. How long he naps ranges from 30 minutes-2+ hours. All naps are in his crib, unless we're out and about. If we're not home, napping is iffy at best.

I'm sorry that you are in the same boat as me but glad I'm not alone.

Swap swing for rock n play or on mommy. Love you my baby twin.

I feel bad because at my SILs he has a really hard time napping. she has 3 boys and they love the baby but he gets really distracted.
Every time I think we have a schedule going, it changes... A has been doing one or two short morning naps (20-45 min) and one longer afternoon nap (2-3 hours). Sometimes she's do a short evening nap depending on when she woke up from her last nap.
She usually naps in her pack n play, which is where she sleeps at night. Sometimes she'll sleep in her car seat if we're out. Sometimes she'll nap in her swing. We're trying to transition out of the swaddle. We're at one arm consistently and trying to do both arms out in the swaddle me.

We typically have 3ish naps a day. The first is usually around 8:30 and lasts 45 minutes or so. FFC: I totally manipulate her naps so she naps at the same time as the toddlers and I get a break. So that means I let her catnap around 11 for 15 minutes or so. I am so lucky that she's ok with that. It would have never worked for her big brother! That gets her through until 12:30 when I lay all the big kids down and she takes a 2.5-3 hour nap while the house is quiet. Then she naps again around 4:30 or 5 for 45 minutes and she's good to go until bedtime. She's such a great napper. C was more like 25 minutes twice a day, and it would take me 45 minutes to get him to sleep. If he fell asleep for 5 minutes in the car, that was it. She will sleep anywhere. Depending on who I'm watching and where we are, she sleeps in her crib or her brother's bed, on a pad in the floor, my bed, or the mamaroo. None of it seems to bother her.

4 a day. Every 1.5-2 hours. They only last 40 minutes unless she's on me. She naps in her crib when we are home most of the time. I'm hoping soon she learns to sleep through the sleep cycle so I can drop her to 3.

Typically 3 naps. I love when she gets one long nap (2-3 hours) and 2 catnaps (30-45 minutes) because she is the most cheerful but sometimes they all turn into catnaps and she turns into a monster.

Yup! I compare him to the Gremlins. Good sleep = Gizmo, all cute and sweet. Bad sleep = Too much energy, won't settle down, crazy monster-like gremlin.
FYI we're usually dealing with the monster-like gremlin, ugh!

3-4 naps per day, 45min average. First and third nap are in the crib, last in the Ergo. In the afternoons I nurse her side-lying on the guest bed (separate from other rooms) and lay next to her for a bit to manipulate a longer nap. She has a much later bedtime than most babies on here, which is why the 4th nap is still happening.

We have a 6-6:30 bedtime and still nap 4 times a day 99% of the time.
When do you consider it a nap and when do you consider it the last "stretch" of night sleep? Night sleep ends at 12 hours total?
I consider the end of night sleep when she doesn't just nurse quickly back to sleep. Time can be variable, but once she's up for the day she won't eat (would rather be social).

Also, today V decided that she only wanted 3 naps instead of 4. I fought hard with her for her 3rd nap and she just refused. Times are a changin' I guess.
7am wakeup 830am 45/60min nap 1pm 1-3 hour nap, with some nursing in there if I do side-lying 430pm 45min nap 830pm Asleep for the night

lol...my kid never goes down easy. What does that mean?!? Would love to experience it once. Ugh!

Night sleep is just right back down after nursing or being comforted. Then when she is up for the day we play, etc and there is a gap of time before the first nap.
