Hi Ladies,
I was hoping you could give me some advice. A little bit of my history - I was diagnosed with a bicornuate uterus over 10 years ago. I have had 3 pregnancies - 1 full term, 1 loss at 17 weeks, 1 loss at 11 weeks. I got pregnant fairly easy with those pregnancies but haven't gotten pregnant in the last year.
I saw the RE today for an HSG. Both my tubes are open but he wanted to look at my uterus closer. He did an ultrasound and diagnosed me with a septate uterus, NOT a bicornuate uterus. He says it is very commonly misdiagnosed and that radiologists will commonly write bicornuate instead of septate because they don't know any better (probably what happened with my MRI).
Given my second trimester loss history, he recommended a hysteroscopy with septum resection to improve my chances of carrying to term. It seems like it's only part of the puzzle and doesn't explain why I haven't gotten pregnant in the last year.
So, would you get the septum resected if you had a successful pregnancy before?
Would you abandon TTC until you could get the septum resected?
What other questions should I be asking?
