I was feeling like my stomach was stabbed a few times after the ER. And then I went and rested, woke up and the stabbing pain was gone, but now i felt bloated. Almost like I have gas pains.
I've been resting off and on again, and things aren't as bad. I can now get off the couch and move about with far less difficulty, so that's nice.
I'm still bleeding, but nothing major.
So I guess my question is.. How did everyone else feel, and did anyone experience OHSS?
The nurse did warn me that the follicles will take on some fluid, but the body would absorb it. I'm feel better and better, and all my clothes fit like normal, I just don't want to go all batty if there is no need. lol
I ended up with OHSS and symptoms got much worse after the transfer and the embryo took. My stomach ballooned, I was very uncomfortable, and they ended up draining 2.5 liters from my abdomen but again, that was once I was pregnant.
Our doctor suggested eating a high protein and sodium diet and to only drink beverages with electrolytes as a way to prevent it. Even once I had it, that's what they recommended.
I was sore after the retrieval. It hurt to walk, go to the bathroom. I hope you don't get it. Again, lots of protein, salt, and electrolytes. Think pickles, beef jerkey...protein bars...more salt...

Thank you for the reply! I'm feeling much, much better today! Feels like the bloat has gone down a lot too. I'm not a skinny girl, but I know how much bulge I have on a good day, and I feel like I'm back to that. lol
Plus it doesn't hurt to stand up and walk... Bonus!!!

Glad you're feeling better!! I felt pretty much like you described for about 2 days, and it noticeably improved as time passed. But you know your body - if something feels truly not right, don't worry about feeling batty. Get checked!
I over did it a little bit yesterday... Wasn't feeling so hot after the post I did.. So I rested for the rest of the day and I'm going to do the same today. I called the clinic cause I was short of breath and she said it was a little early for OHSS to be starting and she felt I must have over did it. But she said if I have it happen again then go to the hospital. It didn't happen again..
It scares me to think that the transfer could be cancelled if I get OHSS. I don't know if any of the eggs would make it to freezing.

Hope you feel better. They have gotten a lot better at freezing embryos so try not to worry about losing any. I'm no expert but I think some people even go for having them frozen from the beginning and plan a transfer a month or so later so they don't have to be taking all those meds at once, etc.
