Good morning ladies! I know several of us started back to work this week. It's Friday and the weekend is almost here. So tell us how it went:
- How long have you been back at work?
I go back on Monday so today was my at official day on maternity leave. I actually really love my job and am looking forward to going back but it was very bittersweet. I'm going back part time for August but will have both kids with me on the days I am off so I took advantage of having DS in daycare and spent most of the day snuggling my little girl.
- How are you doing at work? If breastfeeding how's the pumping/BFing at home going?
I have about 300 oz in my stash to supplement any days that I can't pump enough while I'm at work. I had to work really hard to keep up with DS when I went back to work do I hope this will help me keep from stressing out to much.
- How do you feel about your child care situation?
Really good! DD will be in the same daycare that my son is in and I have always been very happy with his care. The main infant room teacher was not the same one he had for the first year but she was in there towards the end. I liked her but wasn't super close with her but she called me yesterday because she'll be on vacation DDs first week but just wanted to chat about her. It definitely put me at ease!
My mom has always taken DS one day a week and will still do so but also take DD on another day. I'm really grateful that they'll each have their own time with her since my grandmother always watched me as a little girl.
- How are you doing with baby/home life?
Definitely nervous about dealing with two in the mornings since usually I deal with mornings on my own as DH goes to work on the earlier side. I'll report back...
- Tell us something awesome that happened at work this week. What about at home?
I let DD nap on me today and gave her all the snuggles since I have no idea when we'll have this much 1 on 1 time again.
P.S. I'm thinking about doing the check-in bi-monthly. Let me know if you prefer more often or less.
I think bi-monthly sounds good but as more of us go back weekly may make sense also.
Good morning ladies! I know several of us started back to work this week. It's Friday and the weekend is almost here. So tell us how it went:
- How long have you been back at work?
I go back Tuesday. So not ready!
- How are you doing at work? If breastfeeding how's the pumping/BFing at home going?
I'm nervous. I work 10-12hr shifts. I had hard enough time remembering to break for lunch much less pumping at least 2-3 times.
- How do you feel about your child care situation?
DH, my sister (home daycare) amd my mom will share the load. Im glad to have her with people I trust, i just wish my schedule wasn't so all over the place
- How are you doing with baby/home life?
Surviving. Ftm but i already feel so busy, how can I work too!?

Tbd...
At home, lots of snuggles )

- How are you doing at work? If breastfeeding how's the pumping/BFing at home going? Work is good. I like who I work with so it isn't hard being there. Pumping is going well. I have my own office this time so I can just close the door, pump and keep working. I usually use the time to go through my massive emails or sign checks, things I don't like doing but are easy to complete while hooked up. I've also been pumping a good amount. I'm a full day ahead in bottles right now. I should start freezing some so I can add to my stash now that I went dairy free
- How do you feel about your child care situation? Child care is good. Same daycare as DD1. The lead in the infant room kind of drives me crazy but she means well. H and I kind of stay on top of them when they are babies so we know things are being done the way we would like
- How are you doing with baby/home life? Home life is ok. H and I we testy with each other - our toddler is going through a tantrum phase and pushing her limits ( age appropriate) I have one way to try and fix it and he seems ok to let it ride out. I think our toddler walks all over him. It's also hard coming home at 5:30ish, needing to cook dinner, was bottles and pump parts and put 2 kids to bed. Our nights are full to say the least.
- Tell us something awesome that happened at work this week. What about at home? Awesome at work : I got paid! Lol At home: we are all still surviving
P.S. I'm thinking about doing the check-in bi-monthly. Let me know if you prefer more often or less.

How long have you been back at work? One week
How are you doing at work? Pretty good, work wise. I'm busy so that's good, gives me less time to think of them and miss them. Pumping is kinda sucking. My supply went down which I kinda expected but was still upset about. I normally get 7-9 ounces each time and I only got about 4 ounces each session. Womp womp. I'm doing a couple things to help out but hopeful it'll even back out in a couple weeks.
How do you feel about your child care situation? Okay. Haha. This past week, they were home with my mom which was awesome. But she's going home tomorrow so now the real child care situation starts. Monday's they're with my sil, Tuesday's they're with MH while he works from home, Wednesday's and Thursday's are daycare, and Friday's I work from home. It's crazy, I know.
How are you doing with baby/home life? Good, were still struggling with sleeping at night, but otherwise everything is going good for now.
I can't think of awesome stuff. I'm exhausted from my first week back, honestly. O decided to wake up at 5 every morning but wouldn't fall asleep til midnight. Then I'm up pumping at 3 and trying to get him back down from his feeding. I need this boy to sleep so I can function at work!
Good morning ladies! I know several of us started back to work this week. It's Friday and the weekend is almost here. So tell us how it went:
- How long have you been back at work? Went back last Monday
- How are you doing at work? If breastfeeding how's the pumping/BFing at home going? Was nervous to go back, but was a busy week which threw me right back into the fire, which was good to make it go by quickly. Pumping at work is ok, need to be conscious of doing it often enough, sometimes the day gets away from me. Have no idea how some of you are able to pump and drive, I'm such a cluster when I pump!
- How do you feel about your child care situation? Very fortunate to feel really good about it. We have a nanny/grandma combo during the week, and both kids love them so much. Still a little nervous about grandma with 2, but so far so good.
- How are you doing with baby/home life? Wish I had more of it! My new work schedule has me coming home later (between 4 and 5, but I leave my house at 5:45am, so it's a long day). I hate that this is toddlers melt down time/ as soon as I get home we have to fly into the dinner/bath/bed routine. But I WFH on Fridays, so it's only 4x per week.
- Tell us something awesome that happened at work this week. What about at home? I survived week 1! In both places!
P.S. I'm thinking about doing the check-in bi-monthly. Let me know if you prefer more often or less. Ok by me!
How often are you all pumping? E still eats every 2-2.5 hrs during the day. There's just no way i will be able to steal away to pump that often. I'll be lucky if I can do every 3-3.5 hrs. 4 is more realistic...

Do you think I will keep up?
Depends on how responsive you are to the pump I think. LO eats 3 times while at daycare. I pump 2 times a day at 10 and 2 and right now I pump about 3 oz over what she is eating during the day. I will throw a nighttime pump around 9 pm in later on when she is eating more and sleeping more dependably.

Do you think I will keep up?
I pump based off our feeding schedule. So for me, it's every three hours at 10 and 1. I normally make it home between 4 and 4:30 so I can nurse.
It is hard to get away though, so I get it! I just have to remind myself that feeding my babies is my priority and I have to protect my supply. I have been using my pumping time to catch up on emails, make phone calls, etc. that way I'm still getting work done so I don't feel like I'm getting away or anything.
Good luck today to all those returning to work! Hoping that you all have as good of a day as possible.
I'll be working from home a couple of days for the next two weeks before going back to the office, so I'm trying to enjoy the time with J as much as I can.
