lola I'm so sorry your doctor is leaving! how far is the new office/hospital? are there any other doctors at the practice that you like or that have good reviews?
legalbeagle I love the Olympics. I will watch that shit all night, every night. I even like the Winter Olympics, which apparently people love to hate on.
I'm irrationally excited because I ordered 2 baby carriers online! I can't wait to try them on and try them out after putting something heavy in them (the cat is tempting, but I'm not that mean ). I'm also seeing Radiohead tomorrow, so losing my mind a little about how exciting that is! I haven't seen them play live in over a decade.
Not fit for pictures today. I was just discharged with orders to take it easy. My spinal headache flared up and I threw up on the way home so I'll just be here in bed for the rest of the evening thanks 😖
emilie what carriers did you get? My wrap was my favorite baby shower gift with DS.
I got two structured carriers - the Ergo 360 Cool Air and the Lillebaby Airflow. Both are mesh carriers because we are in a hot climate year round here.
Which wrap did you get? I have looked at the K'tan and I think it looks pretty cool, though I'd be worried about a wrap feeling secure enough. Both of the above carriers can be used for newborns (the Lillebaby one without an insert, even!) I look at things like the Moby wrap and they just seem way too confusing.
emilie It's not too far, about 30 minutes. But that's compared to five minutes I'm at right now, for office and hospital. Two of the doctors are new (just finished residencies) but I'm hoping to meet them all and get a gut feeling.
Thanks @kc295905. Hopefully I can get that feeling again.
@kc295905, I could never get the hang of slings either. I got a pouch sling for this baby and am registered for a ring sling, but it won't bug me if I don't get it. I loved my Moby for the first few months and Babyhawk (mei tai) after that. I've already purchased both of those for this baby. I may get an Ergo later on, and I want something that can be worn in the water at some point, but I'm not in a hurry to get that either. I also registered for a woven wrap because I really love wraps -- it made me sad when the Moby got too stretchy for them.

I've never tried a woven, but have heard good things! Baby wearing was such a lifesaver with cranky pants DS. I hope this next baby likes to be worn bc I'm gonna need the free hands.
It was totally a lifesaver when I had a newborn and a 13 month old. Especially since DD was impossible to put down her first 6 months. DS was a preemie, so wearing him was really nice in public because people were much less likely to put their germy hands on a baby that was attached to me. The only big issue then was that baby wearing wasn't really a thing yet. A lot of times I was the first person people had seen with a baby in something that wasn't a Bjorn. I got a lot of questions. I was also accused once of trying to smuggle a dog into Walmart when I had him hidden in the Moby.
Lucy can we go step by step into this story on thinking you were hiding a dog. LMAO...what store? How were you approached? Your comment and then their reaction? lol...I mean emojis would do the trick too.

It was seriously ridiculous. I was stopped by the greeter heading into Walmart to do grocery shopping. She never asked, just assumed I was smuggling in a dog. She stopped me and said "You can't bring that dog in here!". I was too shocked to say anything other than "Uhh... it's my baby." and pulled back the wrap so she could see him. He was so small that when he was in there, I could completely cover him, which I loved. I never assumed anyone would think it was anything other than a baby.

crimpgirl welcome to the dark side!!! Lol. Congrats.
Lucy hahaha omg you are nicer than me..I would of been like you talking to me. Umm do I look like that crazy dog person to you. Lol. Shake my head. Well hope filly won't have a revisit to that. And of all the silliness at Walmart you get stopped about that! Lol.
