I waited all week for today and now that it's here, it doesn't feel like a Friday. I hope that changes once I leave work at 12 pm!
FFFC: I was getting ready for work when Leo sneezed. And of course, big boogers popped out. I grabbed the nearest thing to wipe his nose, DH's dirty sock. Mentally, I ran thru all my options: paper towel in kitchen, tp in bathroom, his wipes were unknown, and then said whatever.
bkmama0 Glad you hear from you! How exciting that you are still in the running for the Madrid job, best of luck! How are you feeling these days? I forget, did you announce to your family yet or are you planning to wait?
Good morning mommas! We are at the closing and LO has a dirty diaper so I go to the bathroom to change him and they don't have a changing table. I really don't want to change him on the floor (I have a pad). What would you do?
Stayed up way too late last night reading. I'm dragging today! And I woke up and realized I forgot to switch the laundry yesterday, so all of lo's diapers were sitting wet in the washer. Oops. At least they didn't smell mildewy so I didn't have to rewash them. But on the plus side, lo was coloring and doing puzzles mostly independently, so I was able to get the chicken kabobs marinating for dinner. We're headed to the splash pad later this morning.
I've been feeling a bit better lately. Slightly more energy and very little nausea. My parents visiting threw me for a loop though, their visits always bring up a lot of anxieties and tension for me. My dad is extremely lazy and rude and my mom is a guilt tripping master of passive aggression. Sucks. I have only told one of my SILs so far bc she was asking me about my cycle and I am terrible at keeping secrets. My first appointment is this upcoming Tues, so pretty excited about that! I'm going to a midwifery practice this time around, should be interesting to see how it goes.
So closing went well. I did end up changing LO in the truck. We went out to the new house and cleaned up, now heading to get the u-haul so hubby can move all of his stuff out of the garage. Then I have to finish packing since the movers come at 8 in the AM. My uncle is a locksmith so he came out the house and re-keyed it for us. Gonna be a busy next couple of days! Will post pics tomorrow.
littlelion I have used a sock more than once to wipe a kid's face. I call it resourceful.
babyw15 first kid vs. fourth: I totally would have changed her on the floor, especially since I had a pad- but I can do a poopy diaper with her standing. All those years in ICU cleaning ass has served me well. I'm really making myself sound like a gross mom but I swear my kids are clean.
bkmama0 glad you are feeling better! GL on the interview AND the OB appt!
AFM, my H went back to work today. It is nice to have my regular schedule back. I took my oldest to get her schedule- she starts HS on Monday. Trying not to have a meltdown-so far I've succeeded. This is going to be a big year for our family- my next oldest will finish elementary school this year and I will graduate, too. Just before the oldest gets her permit! Holy moly. Positive changes, but still momentous.
I am off school for three weeks and am VERY hopeful I will get a nap at least once during that time.
I hope all the pregnant mamas are doing well and that ALL of you mamas have a wonderful day!
Ugh, I've got a sick little man over here. He didn't really want to play at the splash pad, which I chalked it up to it being crowded and overwhelming for him. When I put him down for nap when we got home he seemed fine, but wouldn't settle down. I went up to check on him and he had a slight temp. Now it's up to 102.1 and his nose sounds slightly stuffy. His appetite is pretty off, but we managed to get him to eat some blackberries and peppers and a couple sips of broth. He's coloring happily right now, so at least he's playing. Makes me so sad to see him sick. bkmama0 glad you're feeling better, but I'm sorry your parents' visit was stressful. Did you end up planning a weekend getaway? babyw15 congrats on your new house! Glad it all went well. ourcrazynavylife that bracelet is so sweet! kcrus I'm glad life seems to have settled down for you guys. Keeping my fx for an uneventful and restful few weeks for you.
I brought 2 individual chocolate lava cakes home from work this week. Dh has eaten them both. We'll both be on diets after this pregnancy.
My anatomy scan went ok. Baby is breech and moving around a lot so tech couldn't get all the pics. I didn't even get a good profile pic. He measures on track and weighs 14 oz. I go back in 3 wks to try again. As I waited for the tech to come in, I felt the first good kick from baby. Instead of just the gassy feeling. ♡
