I love the Olympics and the tv will most likely be on all day everyday so that I can catch whatever is on. I always make an effort to watch women's gymnastics, swimming and indoor and sand volleyball. Oh and I got E to bed early so I could sit and enjoy the opening ceremony in a quiet house!
I am so excited about the Olympics! I am watching the opening ceremonies. I plan to stay up until the USA athletes parade in; not sure I can make it past that.
I like watching gymnastics the best. A student who graduated from the last school I worked at (who I've actually had conversations with) is on the diving team so I will be watching that too. It's kind of cool knowing someone competing.
I am not picky though; I will watch anything Olympics.
I was worried I couldnt watch because we dont have cable but the live stream is working perfectly
I love girls gymnastics and any of the swimming
Not to be a downer but all the recent attacks are in the back of my mind and I so hope nothing happens. Also a little worried about Zika but Im not knowledgable about any precautionary measures they can take. With the new CDC recommendations for pregnant women here its a thought for sure

I just got home and got the TV on just in time for USA to start walking out!
I like watching gymnastics, swimming, diving, and some of the track and field events.
My sister was hoping to try for the paracycling team, but is now focusing on 2020 instead since they changed her classification. But I might watch some of those events too.
Watching the opening ceremony right now. The whole Seeds of Hope thing is really cool.
Side note: Attending the Olympics is high on my bucket list, the ceremonies are so exciting and I love watching it all! Soccer and Ice Skating are my faves. Has anyone gone before?
Watched some of the opening ceremony, but then had to tend to baby. We watch everything. I am a huge fan of the Olympics. My goal growing up was to be an Olympic athlete in soccer or gymnastics(also swimming but that dream when out the window when I was only 5'2") madymoiselle that really sucks you couldn't watch live, do you know if it will be like that for everything? I hope not!

Attending the Olympics is high on my list as well. I was really hoping for Boston 2024 even though I knew it would be a logistical nightmare for me.
I only made it through the A countries in the parade and then fell asleep. But it got me so excited for all of the events over the next couple weeks. I love watching swimming and tennis but my favorite part of the Olympics is watching the random sports that I don't know as much about.
I was so glad the US starts with an E in Portuguese so I didn't have to wait too long for them. I also like watching random sports. I'm watching water polo right now, because why not?
Many Olympic events arent aired live especially the most popular sports because they want to save them for prime time when the most people are available to watch them. I dont mind because im usually not available to watch in the middle of the day either.
I love the Olympics and really enjoyed watching the opening ceremonies. I thought they did a great job, and I loved the theme.
I love watching gymnastics, but also track and field and the swimming events. I'll watch as much as I can, though. I am just always so amazed that humans can do these things- these athletes are incredible!!!
Just watched Virginia Thrasher receive the first USA (gold) medal for shooting. I think the only thing that could have made that more American would have been Eagles, beer, and fireworks. Hahah. Seriously though, I always cry when they play our anthem. It makes me so proud.
carrots that is SO cool that you got to go to the Atlanta Olympics!! Which events did you get to see?
I dozed on and off through the opening ceremony. Honestly, this years didn't impress me that much, at least what I saw of it. H was cranky because we switched to the CBC (Canadian) coverage from NBC. NBC hadn't started the parade of countries, the CBC was on M. So H watched not realizing that he had already missed team USA.
carrots that's so cool that you got to see some events! Attending the Olympics is on my bucket list as well. I remember years ago when they selecting the city for these Olympics, Chicago was one of the cities in the running, but it obviously went to Rio. I would have loved to attend some events had it been close, but it's cool to see a city like Rio on tv.
This men's road cycling makes me feel lazy. 150 miles? No thanks! I'll drink my coffee on the couch
belle0720 ice skating is my fave Olympic sport too. It's really the only one I watch regularly and actually know the athletes, etc. I like to check out the swimming and gymnastics at the summer Games but don't follow them or anything.
That end of cycling was so crazy. Three guys in the lead and two of them crash on the last downhill. How that third guy made it through the wreckage unscathed is beyond me.
Anyone else watching women's volleyball! Intense! Plus three huskers! OH YEAH
I am watching. No idea what a husker is though. Had to look up one why one woman wears a different color shirt than the others. I think I understand less than I did before I looked it up.

Ha - the other color jersey is a libero. All you need to know is they are only allowed on the back row and they can sub unlimited times. Usually a short girl that subs in to play defense for a tall girl.
@3dimesdowm were there any sketchy calls there?? Team USA looked pretty pissed there in that last set on one of the calls.
There were a couple of weird net contacts and possible tips off the block and a really obvious double contact on their setter...but honestly nothing that was an unusually bad call IMO.
