I had another "went into labor" dream last night lol! In the dream, my mom took me to the hospital b/c MH was at work. We forgot my hospital bag so we had to call my dad to bring it (and as you guys may remember from yesterday, my dad's been gone 2 yrs). It was hilarious though b/c he crammed some crap into a bag and brought it - and I specifically told him which bag to grab at our house! We ended up coming home b/c it was a false alarm and I woke up this AM to LO going nuts! This kid is getting so much stronger by the day and each movement is like WHOA!!
agpjt413, I know what you mean about the strength of the kiddo! Mine is more or less out of room, but when she DOES move, its like she takes the rest of me with her. I feel like she could stall a middle of the night roll over in bed just by leaning the other way! Haha

Ha ha yes!!!! I know mine is totally running out of room lol!

venyia your logic for letting H go was why I ended up having my first out of town. There was an event that was worth the risk of going into labor for in a city five hours from home because just missing it and not having the baby that weekend wouldn't have been ok with me.
That being said, I think you said it's some kind of convention? I uh really don't see what kind of convention would be worth the risk of kissing a kids birth unless it was a life altering event like um birth.

It is a tournament of a game that is intrinsic to SO's business. If he goes and does well it could lead to significant regional visibility for him/his shop. It is a really tough call to make, honestly. I think I would be upset for myself if he wasn't here for kiddo's birth, but I do have a small support network here, so I wouldn't necessarily be alone, either. And, knowing it was a calculated risk, I wouldn't just be pissed off at him either. So... yeah, leaving it up to him, if he can even swing the costs. I know he REALLY wants to go. The last big event, we went the wrong weekend, then blew more cash to get him over to Seattle the right weekend, and it ended up being cancelled for whatever reason. It really bummed him out.
I definitely understand if anyone thinks I am crazy for considering letting him go without a fuss. I probably would tell anyone else not to do it! Hah
venyia you're super kind to let him go. if he does go, when he gets back, he owes you BIG TIME
a lot of people in my family have been telling me how I'm so much bigger this time around than i was with B. like connnnnnnstantly. well today i found and threw on a tank top that I wore a lot while i was pregnant with B. I'm definitely not bigger at all. My belly is probably about the same size as it was when i had her at 39 weeks and this baby is already measuring bigger than she was at birth... This baby is sitting higher than she was too. I weigh a whopping 2lbs more than I did with her, and my boobs are bigger this time.
So yeah, shut your mouth people... so rude. okay vent over lol

So do early contractions feel like menstral cramps? They don't really come and go, kind of come, get worse, reside. If there is A pattern it's very far apart. And I've been sick to my stomach/ bouts of really bad heartburn for hours. I think I'm just tired and want it to be over. It's nothing and I know that I just really want it to be over.

Are you the person that has a hobby shop? Or what field is your SO in?

maybe give your doc a call?
DH said if things got even lightly regular we were headed to labor and delivery to check. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow so hopefully she will stay put until then, it would be perfect timing of the doctor sent me over to the hospital then. We would already have DD with the people who will take care of her while we are in the hospital. And no rushing around.

No personal experience but I have heard from other people that it can feel like menstrual cramps!
Rama, that's us, the hobby shop is SO's livelihood. I know a Magic: the Gathering tournament sounds pretty frivolous to most folks, but when you live by the nerdly hobbies, stuff like that matters haha XD

I'm pretty sure I've read that is a common thing for them to feel like. Sorry about the heartburn on top of it!

I've had prodromal labor for 6 weeks straight and this is what it feels like for me. Mine will pick up a close pattern though. It also wraps around to my back and thighs. I'm so with you. I cannot wait for it to be over.
My prodromal labor just started being back labor instead of just painful BH today. I am already over it. You are a hero.

If I had felt Ike this for 6 weeks, I would be doing all sorts of screaming, crying, and begging to be induced! You are so strong!
I bought these from target figuring I could use a little pampering.
They suck. Waste of $5, and time, and I'm just sad about it. Lol
My mother in law bought this at a local spa and shares it is the best thing to paper your feet! But not for use while pregnant. MIL says over a few days it sloughs all the dead skin compleatly off your feet. She used to go get a super spa pedi (real spa,not a nail salon) once a week during the summer, now she goes and just gets her toes done.

Haha my H loves playing that game. We have a couple decks here and he and I played a lot when DD1 was tiny and we had spare time lol.

I made SO promise me that we could build me a new deck when the kids are in school. He looked at me in confusion and said he didn't think it needed to be that long away. Yyyyeahhhhh.... dude, my hobbies right now are CSI on netflix and everything kid-related. Like I have time to play Magic ever. Hell, we don't even get the chance to sit down together and play gin rummy anymore! LOL
For him, its his job to keep up and be good at it. So, yeah, he plays all the time.

I was totally playing MTG today with @led and her tiny baby girl. ;)
I didn't realize there's a tournament (PTQ?) here so soon. Good luck to him! I know how important these things can be for a hobby shop!

So it isn't just a hobby! If it really could help his career make a big step I'd for sure have him go! At first you made it seem like just a hobby but given the details if be comfortable w him going.

Grand Prix Portland. Whats your poison, standard? Commander?
coffeequeen14, as an independent small hobby shop owner, the exposure is what you make of it, definitely. He was one of the lucky guys who actually did turn his hobby into his job. It isn't as easy as we might like (oh, the admin work, yikes) but it keeps him happier than some sales job for someone else ever could. And that seems worth the hassles of small business ownership. Plus, one of these years, my soon to be degreed butt can get a real job and help out, lol!
countrycotton, I had some cramping and felt like the day before my period comes for about a week and a half before I went into labor. The morning I went into labor it really picked up and I was super crampy. With ds1 I never felt any of that though.
Rama, how do you guys like the new set? I wanna gush about SO's deck, but I feel like everyone would be like WTF DIS BITCH ON ABOUT. lol He recently modified it since Eldritch Moon came out, but before that, I named it Toxic Wastes, and it was a beaut. Green-colorless with lifegain and mana ramp on the low end and walker of the wastes and ulamog and kozilek on the top end.... people haaaated it. LOL
I always got too nervous like wth am I doing with sealed/drafting. Standard is more fun to me, but I like commander too. Thraximundar is a huuuuuge FU commander to play hahaha and he is allllll mine, in a "steal your stuff, use it, then sacrifice it" deck.
This is fascinating. My future BIL is super into Magic and goes to tournaments all the time and I never understood why he keeps leaving my sister to play a card game. Listening to you guys I'm starting to understand that it's like... a whole other world that you just only understand if you're part of it.
bocaburger , it is sort of like any field with its own technical language. That SOUNDS like English but unless you know what it means in context, its total gibberish! It is really easy to discount as just a card game, but it has a huge worldwide following. Which is crazy to me, because I remember playing it 14 years ago in high school, when it was nbd. Haha SO has almost 17 years, I think? It has been around for a long time! Terrific staying power.
Edit: oh yeah, and depending on the size of the tournament, you get 8-400+ people, pay $5-$50 bucks to play (sometimes there are free smaller tournaments, but rarely), and if you do well (as much as top 64 players in the larger tournaments) you get prizes back, and the higher you place, the more prizes. Sometimes they include invites to international tournaments, or just multiple boxes of sealed packs, or sometimes cash, but I think cash prizes are constrained under gambling laws.
