DD's new diet has lengthened her first awake time. She had a 10:30 nap, a 2:30, and a 5:30. Meanwhile DS napped at 12:30. Those of you keeping track at home will notice that there has been at least one kid awake all day since 6:30 am. I'm toast.

Oh man, tag-team nap days are the worst. When DD2 was a baby there were evenings when I just sat on the couch and cried because I hadn't had a single quiet minute all day.

This is my life every single day, minus the toddler having any nap at all. I'm actually used to it now, but it was a pretty harsh transition for me at first.

Quiet minute? What is that?
But seriously. It's 8:45 here, and I just got done putting the last kid down for bed. They were both up at 6:30 this morning.
My H wasn't home, so I got myself set up on the couch about to eat chocolate ice cream, watch Netflix and catch up with you ladies, and then my H pulled up in the driveway. I feel guilt to admit I was a little bummed out. I don't have any more talking or touching left in me for the day.

You have my admiration. I am not ready for the day DS gives up his nap.
No nap for us today. My interview is smack in the middle of naptime. I am afraid I'm going to forget. I was up 4 times last night. We had some strong storms and they woke my big girls up. Pass the coffee please.
I have to call the counsellor in 40mins. I'm trembling. I've been reading the book she recommended an it's hitting triggers for me and my anxiety is ramped up. Last night I had dreams about trying to reach her and not being able to dial the number and then trying to get to her office but not being able to do that either. It was awful.
My baby is refusing to nap. This is not good. I need her to nap, so I can shower and get stuff done. I'm pretty sure the issue is teething. She's had diarrhoea since she started to refuse naps, and her top teeth are trying to break through. S was the same when he was teething. I can't decide if this is better or worse than getting ear infections every time they cut a tooth, which is apparent;y what my mother had to deal with with me.

First day of Kindergarten went great! DS loved it and was excited for today. He was like "turbo" charged yesterday afternoon though. I think all the excitement amped him up. He got out a lot of that energy at karate. They had them running laps and doing jumping jacks. This mom was greatful!
Big hugs valie , I hope she is quick at returning phone calls. Is there an "urgent"/emergency line you can call?
Thanks! There is, but this isn't an emergency. I just feel crappy.
Just a thought...would it help to write down how you are feeling in the meantime? For me, sometimes I just need to get it out so I can move forward. I also have a hard time articulating all my thoughts sometimes (especially when I'm emotional) so it helps to get it written down so later I can make sure I don't forget anything in the moment.

valie, I'm sorry you weren't able to reach her. I hope she returns your call fast!
I'm about to grab a cold Diet Dr. Pepper from the fridge. Yum. We can now get regular Dr. Pepper in Germany, but not diet, and to me it tastes light years better.
Thanks for posting! We have a ton of light pollution and the moon is super bright in my backyard, but I spent about 30 min out by the pool staring up at the stars and I caught a couple of showers!! 💫🌟🌛

That is bonkers! No diet soda tastes better or good. I can't get over the weird bitter aftertaste. Blechhhh.

We want to buy a new house in the next six months, and I'm having a total decision making crisis!
I can't decide if we should get a small place - but be in the city, or get a larger place in the 'burbs. There are lots of pros and cons to both and I feel like there isn't once choice that is becoming clear.

NellieOleson, I've never lived in the city and suburbia was all I ever knew until I moved to what I consider the country. I prefer suburbia all day, everyday. I will get back to the burbs at some point.

I grew up in the country but a relatively close drive (10 min) from a larger city. I loved it, especially as a kid. If the suburban home will give your kids more space to play inside on bad-weather days and more room to play outside on good-weather days, I would pick that over a small city home any day. That's just me, though. When I watch House Hunters I'm always rooting for them to choose the house that suits them better but isn't in their ideal location over the house that just doesn't really have what they need but is in the right location. Obviously there are lines to be drawn- I wouldn't buy a house that would give either of us an hour commute to work, for example, but as long as it's within reason, I'm flexible about location to get the right house.

See, and even with an hour commute, I'd take the house that works better. I've lived in places that don't meet our needs, and it's awful. And in our city a one hour commute is pretty common, depending on how you get there.
I just realized last night how much this weekend is going to suck. I have a bachelorette party Saturday night, H works Sunday, Monday I have a root canal, M get her shots on Tuesday, and H has game night on Tuesday.

If I hear dd2 belly laughing from another room, I can almost guarantee something naughty is going on out there. Usually something involving her sister trying to steam roll her or trying to push her under a chair.
