My baby is broken since coming home from Hawaii. I know we are all jet lagged but I think it is more than that. She used to go to sleep relatively easy with a wake up normally around 4am. Now she falls asleep in my arms but the second I put her in her crib she is up and whaling. She learned how to crawl and is starting to pull herself up on things so as soon as she goes down she is on all fours and then sitting up screaming. I think her teeth are driving her mad as well. I see a lot of white on the bottoms. And she is drooling/fingers/hand/anything in the mouth.
I mainly wanted to vent here but is this normal? I am struggling because I am letting her cry for 15 minutes at a time but feel so so guilty of she is not feeling well because of her teeth and the jet lag.. Ugh.

pinktartan9, mine take a good week to readjust to major time differences (ours is always 7 hours). What you're describing sounds more like teething, though. I'd guess it's 90% teething and 10% jet lag. Does it help if you give her Tylenol?
DD3's baptism is tomorrow and the extended family is coming into town today. I'm excited to see everyone!

@pinktartan - All that is totally normal. Even without the jet lag and teething.
ETA - hit post too soon. Anyway. A lot of times a new developmental milestone (pulling up, crawling, standing) will cause problems with sleep for a while.
Also, our babies are getting older and their sleep is different. It's easy to nurse a tiny baby to sleep, put them in the crib and walk out of the room, but it gets more difficult as they get older IME. She is aware of your absence and wants you there. She probably wakes a tiny bit, thinks "Hey! Mom isn't here! I better find out where she is..." My dd2 does the same thing. My dd1 did as well.
Instead of just letting her cry for 15 minutes, maybe read the Ferber book? It also talks about sleep phases and how they change over childhood and it's a pretty interesting read. We aren't sleep training yet, but I'm still glad I read the book.
Michaela just pooped on me. It's the first time she's exploded out of a diaper. So I've been up for an hour and I'm on my second outfit, not counting my pjs. S is watching a movie, and I have to pack up my make-up and stuff for the party tonight, and wrap a present for H's cousin's birthday party.

crimsonandcloverNellieOleson thank you both very much for your responses. Just knowing I am not the only one going through this at this time is reassuring. I think also sleeping in the same room for a few weeks may have a lot to do with it. Like you said Nellie, she wakes up and can't see/hear us but for the past few weeks she has.
I will definitely take a read at the Ferber book. Was kinda hoping to not sleep train until the jet lag had subsided but to be honest I dunno what else to do, otherwise it might take longer to adjust.
Crimson - she does calm down with Tylenol but I am doing what I can to only medicate when I absolutely have to (ex. She has only gotten Tylenol twice) and I think most of us feel that way.
Thank you so much for your help ladies. I really appreciate it

Tylenol is my friend when the babe is fussy. Either it works or it doesn't, but sometimes I don't know what else to try. Currently we are missing a pool party bc dd2 can't handle missing nap today and Dh is replacing about 50% of our deck floor. Who knew so much was rotten?

This. I think I've used it 2 times with DD3 when she didn't have a fever, but nothing that I did (feeding, nap, carrying, entertaining, cold teething ring) helped. She's generally a happy baby so when she's crying and fussing and nothing I do helps, I try Tylenol to see if she's in pain. Both times it has helped and she has been able to relax and settle down after about 20ish minutes, so I figured it was pain that was the problem. I also don't like to medicate unnecessarily, but if she's so uncomfortable that even me carrying, rocking, and playing with her doesn't help, then I think it's ok to give her Tylenol to help her feel better.

Enjoy DD3's baptism tomorrow crimsonandclover! My DD's is tomorrow as well.
Some of my plans for DD's baptism didn't work out the way I wanted but we are still moving forward with it tomorrow. It will be small with just my parents and my sisters family but that's probably better anyways. Then I'm taking everyone out to lunch after.
I did have her dress made out of my wedding gown. I love how it turned out!!

I wish I had done this! I wanted to, but I was cheap. Had I known I'd have three girls I'd have done it without a doubt.

Same situ here. I try not to use it but when all else fails...
Has anyone used Camillia? I have heard some mums swear by it.

scorpioscuba, how adorable!! And what a great idea!
pinktartan9, Germans are all about the camillia. I'm not convinced. The only thing I've ever used that have seemed to make any difference at all are chilled teething rings and Tylenol/Motrin.

I think dd1 has quit napping...😢I am lost without my hour or two of quiet time each day. She spent almost three hours helping Dh repair our deck and vacuum the cars today. Eventually she asked to please watch a movie and was so tired it was ridiculous. 15 minutes of Sesame Street later she was all "can we go to the splash pad? I need a snack. Do you need more help?" I do not have that kind of energy. I need like a separate kid to do list for her during the day now. When am I going to gbcn?? In other news, either my yoga class or swim test destroyed my body. I can barely move I am so sore. Clearly I need to do one or both of those activities again on a more regular basis. @pinktarten9 I only use Tylenol and ibuprophen. Cold teethers, cucumbers, anything chewy are other things we try for teeth during the day. Night time all bets are off. Oh and dd3 is now clamping down on my nipple and pulling when distracted. Heaven forbid it leave her mouth, but she must see whatever is going on around her. Considering she won't take a bottle, she better shape up and nurse when she wants to eat or she's going to have real problems.
L has decided to make some bad life choices. Namely turning into part baby at 2:00am. She could rival a college spring breaker for late night zest. I may not survive this...

dizzycooks - dd2 is doing the clamp/look around thing, especially if dd1 is around and doing anything remotely interesting. I'm working on her nursing manners, and it seems to be helping a little. I think she knows she's not supposed do it, but just can't help herself sometimes!

We had a few nights of this early last week. Two hour awake stretches at 3 am! Yuck!
That seems to be over, but the last few days she is waking up right after her sister goes down and staying up until I go to bed. This means zero kid-free time for me all day! Wheeeeee.

Yuck! Hopefully they both get on the same sleep program! One baby is breaking me. I have soooooo much respect for all of you with more than one.
I am a hot mess. The bachelorette party last night was a blast! I decided to go as 50's Barbie, and did my hair up in victory rolls. Ten pounds of hairspray later, and they still look halfway decent. I need to shower and brush them out (there was backcombing involved), but I left my brush at my mom's yesterday, so I can't do anything about it until she drops the kids off. Hopefully M takes a good nap so I can attempt to do something about this hair before H gets home from work.

We got a lot done today and took L to the lake for a minute. She loves the water but was not impressed by the waves. I think it's the first time I have seem her concerned or unsure about anything. The sand on the other hand, and all the things in it, was a baby wonderland. Tuesday is our first big meeting for our potential property/business deal. If L doesn't sleep better tomorrow night I am not going to be able to say one coherent thing.

kcrkcs - How did you keep her from eating sand? The last time dd2 was in sand she promptly grabbed a fistful and shoved it in her mouth! I've been a little skeptical of taking her to the beach since then.
Sending sleepy vibes to your girl. I hope mine gets some, too. Sleep has been crap here lately.

Sounds like awesome hair!
It turned out pretty well, but I wish I could've gotten the scarf to work. It wouldn't stay put because my head is shaped weird, so I ended up tying it around a ponytail.

Ummm... I didn't really keep her from doing it I just slowed down the flow. and kept putting her back in the middle of the blanket with her toys. I did say next time I go I am bringing a king size sheet to put her on!!!
It did! When we were up at the front I was holding DD3, and she kept trying to grab my bulletin with the order of service (including everything I was supposed to say). It was pretty funny and had a lot of people in the church snickering. I'm having a picture upload malfunction, but sometime next week I'll try to upload a pic of it. My mom made the baptismal gown for DD1 (she is an awesome sewer), and DD2 and DD3 also wore it. It was also really nice to see my extended family.
