*Inspired by some irritating, unsolicited advice I received lately. From a singleton Mom.
Hahah! This is like how a friend told me "I know what it's like, my kids are 17 months apart. It's not that bad." Umm, I will have TWO newborn babies PLUS a 19 month old. I'm pretty sure you have no idea because I literally have 0 clue on what this will be like. Lol
I am getting so excited for these babies to come, but also worried that we won't make it to induction/have to stress about getting my parents here (they live 6 hours away) for DD1. Baby A's head feels like it might just fall out and I'm so paranoid my water will break at any moment. I'm assuming these are normal feelings at almost 35 weeks.
A random stranger in line in front of us at the store this weekend asked how far apart our kids were since they're almost all the same size. I said these two are 2.5 years older than the little one. The lady (who was holding a newborn in her arms) gushes and says awwww....I want twins! MH and I both responded, no you don't. lol. I wouldn't trade my twins for anything, but omg, you ppl with the one baby, you don't want two of them!!
@feegan, there are so many days that I just CANNOT deal with singleton parents. My BF has a 3m old and I am avoiding them like the plague right now, I just can't even pretend to be supportive. anakah, I totally wanted twins. And although MH doesn't want to try again for fear of a second set, I would totally do it again! But the first 6 weeks are such a fog that I'm sure MH is right

I have a highschool "friend" on my Facebook. She's the sister of one of my close friends, so I can't really delete her, but she annoys the hell out of me. She has twin girls too and no matter what I post on FB she has to comment on how she has twins too. Like every pic I take has a comment that says "My twins..." Yeah I get it!
housecarder, one of my sister's BFs got pregnant w b/g twins "without even trying!" when MH & I were struggling. I blocked her from my feed b/c it hurt. Then I kept her blocked because I just can't handle her parenting. But she still chimes in on my stuff and it drives me nuts

Ugh. Yeah I found out she was pregnant right after my CP. She's extra irritating because she had a huge crush on MH in high school and only really started commenting on everything I posted once we started dating, and then once the girls were born it switched to non stop twin comments. I wish I could hide me from her feed like she's hidden from mine.
schmella, when we found out I was pregnant with our third I spent the entire time between pee stick and our first ultrasound terrified there were twins again. I'm sure it would have turned out fine if it was but I do not think I am equipped to handle four children, twins or not. Seriously, hats off to nomnom for going down this path again.
housecarder there is totally a way to do that. Whenever you post something on FB, you can set the audience to be "everyone except Annoying McStupidface" or whatever her name happens to be. It's annoying to have to do it every time so I'm pretty sure there's a setting where you can default to that always, though I haven't used it myself. HTH!
You guys, for the third night in a row Finn has slept like 9-10 hours straight at night since I stopped doing OUBU at night. What?! And Evie is only waking up for the one bottle in the middle of that stretch. I feel almost human. If they keep this up I might transition them to their cribs upstairs this weekend. That way I won't wake up when they fuss and grunt in their sleep.
Is it standard practice for OBs to give steroids for multiples?
When we had the first big discordance, my OB started talking about steroids if she thought that delivery would happen early. This time, the discordance is around 28 percent. I didn't see my OB this time because she had to go to a delivery, so I saw the nurse practitioner. She gave me a prescription for steroids that I have to bring in in two weeks (32 week appointment).

piccyami I'm not sure what standard practice is if you aren't having symptoms of preterm labor. I do know that if your dilating or having contractions etc they will give steroids to be on the safe side. When I went into labor I immediately got my steroid shot even tho it was very slow at the time (tho no one expected it would turn into a fast delivery). Anyhow. I think it depends on the situation.

piccyami I don't think steroids are "standard" (I'm 35 weeks and it has never been mentioned) but I have heard of some women getting steroid shots while in the hospital for preterm labor. I'd definitely call to talk to your regular doctor if you're unsure about it.

Steroids are recommended if you're going to deliver any baby (singleton or multiples) before 34 weeks to help speed up lung development. If she's concerned that the discordance could necessitate early delivery, they like to do 2 rounds, which I think takes 24 or 48hrs? If it looks like it might be a true emergency, they might do them as a precaution. It's not standard practice for all multiples though, I had a long discussion w my MFM because I have nasty reactions to steroids, and they only do it if preterm delivery is imminent

piccyami If there is a high chance of delivery before 34 weeks then it is standard to do two rounds of steroids consisting of two shots within 24 hours. Since I was carrying triplets they felt there was a high enough chance I would have them prior to 34 weeks so I had the inital round at 28 weeks and the second at 30 weeks.

Thank you, ladies. I think I was just surprised that they wanted to do the steroids at this point.
I got a call from my OB this morning (she was at the hospital all yesterday afternoon), and she wants to start the steroids next week, just to be safe. I think they're also planning on another growth check just to be sure about the huge discordance. She's happy A is right on track and everyone's convinced she's not growth restricted. B is just a giant baby, which might help him in the long run.
We are officially scheduled for August 25 (37 weeks exactly) for our induction. It feels so good to have a end date in sight and it's actually my dads birthday too!
We successfully traveled to a retirement dinner 2 hours from home and the kids were perfect. Feeding times worked out perfectly, they slept both there and back in the car, and both were perfect during dinner. I feel like a bawse! Also tired. Very tired.
