Fall/Winter Looks for Girl Toddler

Do you have Gymboree? Hanna Andersson? I find both wear really, really well. I usually was able to pass the clothes down to my 2nd and then sell them afterwards.

Since I have no one to pass down my third's clothes, we do a lot of TCP. Cute for a season, but not much more...

For my boys I generally stick with navy and gray bottoms and everything else tends to match one of those.

My daughter really likes Old Navy dresses with leggings. Fit and flare and the sheath cut. She has been wearing them for years and has several that held up so well that DD2 is wearing them and they barely look used.

Our best bet for leggings has been the Children's Place ruched ones. Also, OshKosh.

I don't even try with jeans.

DD's wardrobe last year consisted of long sleeves from target and old navy that were either stripes, polka dots, or plain with skinny jeans and boots

We've basically gone a size up and made sure they had an adjustable waist in it

DD has been living in crazy8 leggings for the past two years. I think they hold up well and they are always on sale for like $2-$3. The little girl XS (4-5) is skinnier and longer than the 4T sizing wise if you need the extra length.

@ftwr, I bought that cream cardigan for DD recently for school. It's adorable.

If your DD is long and lean, I'd suggest checking out H&M. They are generally constructed narrowly in the legs and torso, so you can just go w/ the length and not worry about them being super wide. I find Gymborees to be really wide for my kids who are on the lean side.

You need someone to go buy her clothes at target and mail them to you. I love the new Cat&Jack stuff!

They are inexpensive and guaranteed to last for a year.

My DD is the same size and assumedly similar age. I am starting to let her pick out more of her clothes herself. I have been taking screen shots on my phone or ipad of stuff I like and see how she reacts when I show them to her. Then, when I get a better feel of what she really likes/wants at the moment, I more freely seek things out that I think she will like. It has been fun. Regardless, I do plan on picking some stuff out for fall without her input. 

ETA: Taking her to the store and letting her pick out stuff herself is also fun but does not always result in the most needed/practical items.

I just got my DD a bunch of new dresses at Children's Place at 40% off. We do a dress and leggings most days in the fall/ winter.

I have a hard time with this every season. I go through clothes get rid of too small, ones go through hand me downs, then have my list of what to buy. My tip as baby gets older is to take her with you, and help decide because a lot of things that DS has he won't wear (luckily they were mostly hand me downs). I mostly shop at Kohls and Target because they are the closest kid stores to me. They both have the $5 or $7 table. Neither of my kids like jeans for the most part, so I do a ton of leggings for DD and she can wear with a long shirt or a dress. She is 3, and would wear leggings with a short shirt, so I don't know at what age I would change her to wear with tunics, probably 4, I am guessing, so this fall. I haven't hit the stores yet or done any online shopping. I just buy what is cute in those stores and reasonable and if I can't find something then I'll try to get it on Amazon. I might add Old Navy or the Children's Place (is that the resale place?) this year for something different.

I do basically have a capsule wardrobe that I buy and then it is filled in with hand me downs. I need at least a shirt and pair of pants per day of the week as I wash usually weekly, and then add some wiggle room. So I would start with 10 shirts/ tunics and 10 leggings and add some dresses and tunics and couple of regular pants if she will wear them. A nice outfit for pictures, and a couple of sweaters/ hoodies/ fall jackets.

I have a son, but I like the toddler stuff at H and M. The items are priced well and survive his rough and tough play. I also find it to be adorable! It doesn't all survive for hand me downs, but honestly, most of his stuff doesn't. Despite my H and M being huge, the toddler section is small. I buy online and just make returns in the store.

My other usual places are Target and ON. I always love the look of Gymboree girls stuff (even though I hate all the boys stuff). But, that won't work for you!

99% of what DD wears is from old navy. I LOVE their toddler clothes.

Depends on the occasion.  If she's wearing the dress/skirt/leggings to school she wears normal socks and tennis shoes. If we're going somewhere dressier, she has ruffle socks and dress shoes. I don't think dress/tennis shoes is a nerd look for toddlers. It's practical for the rough and tumble princess girl.

We do knee high leather boots and Mary Jane's for a dressier look. To daycare it's her bogs (in winter) or sneakers/ rubber boots for outside and frozen croc Mary Jane's inside.

I can also recommend the Costco leggings. They are thicker and have a warm lining. They come in a three pack. Love these in the fall with a sweater and vest.
