Sorry for for he crappy night westiemom. I hope you get some good naps today and better sleep tonight!
aaemommy They do drills like that around here too. My hubby is on the fire department and they go in with the cops and carry out "students/patients" and transport them to the hospital. It's really in depth but sadly it's the harsh reality of today 😕
STFU!!! That's a thing? Are there kids there??? Seriously, I need to move away from this country. Please help me understand.
No kids. It's teachers only. They have the campus closed and no one not on staff is allowed here today. We'd never do it with actual kids! With kids, we do lockdown drills where they just announce it from the office and we lock the doors/ turn lights off/ stay quiet. Today we split into groups and did different scenarios. Like active shooter in the front office, breaking in through a "locked" door, on the playground, etc. we acted through the scenario then we had officers with each group that talked through what we did, added anything we should have/ could have done different, made sure we understood what was happening. There was only 1 real gun with blanks- the officers were carrying fake weapons. The person shooting didn't shoot near anyone. It was to give us an idea of what gunshots sounded like coming from different places in the building.
Overall I think it was good. It was very eye-opening and having the officers there helped a lot. They were able to give us things to consider that we wouldn't have considered otherwise. It's so sad that society has come to this. But as teachers, we are protecting people's babies. I know I would want my child's teacher to have training in these situations.
Makes sense. I'm glad there are no actual kids involved in the drills! We do code pink (infant abduction drills, no babies ever involved) at the hospital often. They are indeed eye opening. I just...ugh. How can I ever send my babies to school? Yet I will!

We're kinda just hanging out at home today and trying to get some stuff done around here. We had someone come out to work on an estimate for the fence. Then another guy came by to measure for new blinds. We're gonna go in tonight to pick out the blinds. Anyone else's LOs seem to be comfort nursing again? Im gonna blame teething?? But she wants to nurse every hour or two and only seems to eat for a little bit and then just wants to suck but I can tell she isn't swallowing. I wish she'd take a paci... I tried a bunch of different kinds again but she won't take any of them
aaemommy I'm glad it wasn't as terrible as it sounded. Sounds like more of the focus was on training scenarios rather than having someone come in pretending to be an active shooter and do a really sick and twisted role play. So glad fake weapons were used and you feel better prepared.
I have no news. Today is a pretty good day! ((Hugs)) to all.

Me too!! It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. And it was completely controlled- like in one of the scenarios the "shooter" walked right by the classroom we were in before we got the door shut. He totally could have pretended to come in and "shoot" all of us but that wasn't part of the scenario so he didn't. It still makes me sick thinking about if it actually happened here, but I feel like I would be able to make better decisions after today.
Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone! I am happy to report that I found pants that fit. One pair was a bit more than I would usually spend but the other was on clearance for $15 so it evens out, right?
last night was shitty. so naturally today's naps are crap because it is SO TRUE, sleep begets sleep. I blame the lack of evening nap yesterday and an overtired baby once I finally got him settled while DS1 was also screaming!
Some other annoyances for the day include my hair is falling out. It didn't do this with DD until after I weaned. And I had to wear maternity pants today. I can get my regular pants on over my butt but this spare tire around my midsection isn't budging as easily as it did after I had DD. I have lost most of my baby weight though
OMG my hair just started falling out, too and it's sooo bad. Like fistfuls of hair.
I'm trying to go through the mounds of papers that have piled up since the baby was born. They aren't all baby related just all those things you get in the mail that you set aside to "deal with layer" or at least that's what I do.
That's tough westiemom. How is she napping during the day? Babies are such a mystery. It could be anything throwing her off.
I'm once again glad to be Canadian, gun violence is so off my radar. I don't know how I'd feel living somewhere where it was completely normal to carry a concealed weapon. That scares me.
Eta those were two trains of thought. I know most of the gun violence is not committed by someone who has their gun legally.
Her naps rock during the day. That's what's even weirder! Morning and afternoon nap are both 2-3 hrs and late afternoon nap is always around 1-2 hrs.

Sorry for the rough night!
Likewise to you!! Hopefully tonight is better for both of us!!!
I haven't had to hold DS2 for a nap in a while. But today I am. I just peed myself because I have zero warning. When I have to go, I have to go! My saving grace is that when I sat down there was a towel on the couch and I happened to sit on it. + the couch is leather. But c'on bladder....I am NOT the baby!! Let my baby do the leaking and let me make it to the bathroom AFTER I'm done snuggling! I'm seriously going to have to plan bathroom trips before EVERY meeting at work in a few weeks.

Thank you! This only solidifies that I have to get naps to be in the crib.
We are cracking up. Just went to check on baby I and he's just chillin in his bed watching the fan spin. Doesn't even know we're watching. Cutest ever.

Both my kids smiled at the fan before MH and I! It's so funny how much they love them!

We had a busy day here. I've been doing laundry from the lake all day. My housecleaner came too. Then we went to mom's group. We have no groceries so I'm eating the most random things.
DS (our little Clomid miracle) born Sept. 25, 2012 Baby #2 lost at 8w3d on March 4, 2015 (EDD Oct. 11, 2015) Baby #3 lost at 5w2d on April 16, 2015 (EDD Dec. 15, 2015) Baby #4 lost at 4w1d on May 20, 2015 (EDD Jan. 25, 2016) DS2 (our little rainbow miracle) born May 25, 2016
DS is super gassy and uncomfortable tonight. Poor guy. He's been nursing in small bursts I think because he's too uncomfortable to do more. He's swaddled and sleeping now. I doubt I will get too long of a stretch tonight but I'll settle for him feeling better!
DS1 has a wicked cough. No nap yesterday, no nap today. I think he had his first realy "night terror" yesterday as well. It's 9pm. I'm pumping and going to bed by 9:30 as I suspect this will be yet another long night. I have to label tonight's milk with the words "alcohol" as I have had A BIT of wine!! Between one kid coughing up a storm, one gassy up a storm...no naps all around. WINE is at least predictable.

It's just added insult to my already shitty mood, but I just pumped for 20min for a GRAND total of 15ml. Yeah, 1/2oz TOTAL from both boobs. WTH? I have been getting a bit over 2, often 3!!
Dinner was good - most importantly, the 2.5 year old behaved and the baby slept. That's a win for me.
A has been cooing up a storm the past couple of days. She sounds like a baby owl with all of the "ooh ooh ooh"ing. I don't remember J being this verbal. I wonder if it's a girl thing, a second kid thing, or just a her thing?

Good night ladies.
I have a pretty good supply and my night pumps ALWAYS suck.
