I may be making some eggplant parm this week. That recipe looks really yummy, but I'm lazy so I'll use a jar of sauce. Is it the eggplant that supposed to help?Â
I did further "research" and they say it's the herbs in the dish/sauce. And really if that's the case, I might just make the sauce & ladle it over some pasta lol!!! (Is it the eggplant or the spices, hashbrownnofilter?!)
Someone also commented that if it's the spices, it would be in pretty much all Italian dishes, right? We've been having Costco lasagna for a few days now and - nothing ha!
I definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I am in such a bad mood, I feel like smothering my SO with his pillow.
He and I were both up equally late last night. DD woke up 4 hours after I finally fell asleep. I was struggling to keep her in bed with me to coax a couple more hours out of her, sometimes it works. She started getting fussy about it, and SO comes barging in. He "got her to stop struggling"..... yeah, jerk, by making her think she could get up! Oh, and what does he do then? He lays down on the bed! So who the fck is expected to be up with, feed, dress, pay attention to the toddler? Oh, right, that's freakin mom's job.
So I guess my shit sleep lately, contractions last night, and DIRECTLY TELLING HIM WHAT I WAS DOING means jack all in the scheme of, its 9 am and SO wants to sleep more.
Fuming over here. I told him straight up that his logic in the situation fucking sucks. And yay for me, he does something like this, and I physically can't go back to sleep! But HE can.

DD slept really late this morning, like 8:45!! It was amazing, I actually had slept really well, only woke up twice to pee, and didn't toss and turn, so when i work up at 7:45, I was pleasantly surprised that DD was still sleeping and I got to lay in bed and enjoy the scliance for a while! Of course when she work up I realized I had a chiropractor appointment In just over an hour so we jumped up and got moving. DD was in such a good mood it made taking her with me to my appointment no big deal! It was a great appointment. I told he chiropractor that i was only a week and a half away from my due date and had started to dilate and efface, and asked if he could mind doing acupressure to help things along. He didn't want to hit the super sensative points that are known to stimulate labor, but did hit a few points that "should allow my body to relax and do what it needs to do" I've had a few contractions since I left his office, so now to see if it takes. This is he day both DH and I think she will be coming, I'm really hoping she showed up soon.
I had my baby- at home! She wasn't supposed to be born at the house, but decided to change plans. I had contractions all last night starting around 3pm. They were real, but spaced pretty far apart. At 8 they were still 10plus minutes apart. I let the sibling doula know and tried to relax. DH came to bed around 11:30 and the contractions were a bit closer 8ish minutes and strong, but still not anything crazy. Around 3 I timed them and got 5ish minutes. I called the MW on call and the regular doula. The MW said I didn't need to come in yet, but soon. Around 3:45 I had DH call the MW back to tell her we'd be headed in, call the doula, and the sibling doula to come watch DD. I jumped in the shower quickly. DH timed a contraction for me and it was just a touch under 4 minutes. He grabbed some clothes and helped me out of the shower, but I needed to use the toilet. When I sat down something felt very wrong. I started yelling it didn't feel right and DH called 911. Around then the sibling doula showed up to take care of DD. DH looked between my legs and sure enough there was a head. I had him help me walk over to the bed as the dispatcher was telling me to push and I didn't want #2 to land in the toilet (I was really worried about this). About 6 minutes after calling 911 the fire department showed up and #2 had her head out. Another minute or two and all of her was out! The paramedics arrived and #2 and I were off to the hospital. We are BOTH perfectly fine. #2 has a name and is 7lbs 9oz 19.5 inches. Way smaller than #1. I have over 20 stitches, but feel pretty good (just tired.)
We can't believe how fast it was and while I wouldn't try to have another one with no professionals around it was nice to not have any IV's or interventions. I wouldn't have minded some drugs though.
#1 slept through the entire ordeal. Dogs barking, me screaming, firefighters, paramedics, an ambulance etc. no idea how.
thelorax oh my goodness! Your birth story officially wins A16! I hope that the stitches heal well and quickly. I am so glad you were able to get paramedics to your home in time too. Get some rest! Congratulations!
Been up a little early today again b/c it's just so physically uncomfortable to sleep now. Although the EPO does make me sleep more soundly through the night! Not much going on here - 2 days till due date and baby is not budging! Going to continue to work on the nursery again today - almost done!!!
Hilarious link I'd like to share with you all! This was passed on to me from another TCF mama from Aug 15. She mentioned that she made this dish, ate it and her water broke that night! Worth a try this wkend if due date comes and goes! www.scalinis.com/main-babies.html
ETA: words
Thanks for sharing the recipe! my best friend just volunteered to make it for me - I'm going to pay for all the ingredients
thelorax wins this entire bmb lol. Congratulations! I've been laying in the hospital playing martyr because of the way I tore but you just put me to shame. I hope you recover quickly!
Sorry that wasn't my intention! If anything it should be a how not to guide to L&D. DH and I feel like such idiots for not going in sooner!!!
Is it rude to say thelorax gave a huge perspective shift to what constitutes a reason to be grouchy today? Like, I am not super happy or anything, but I read her story and instantly like 90% of my rage vanished. So... if that's rude, I am sorry! I don't mean it to be! It was just like this wakeup that I was getting super upset over what is basically dumb crap.

Just checking in to say that I have been the biggest lazy bum ALL DAY. I slept until past 9, ate breakfast, sat on the couch for about 4 hours reading the sitewide UO thread, got DH to go get us lunch, ate mine, and then went into the bedroom (where the A/C is!) to continue reading the UO thread. I have a Fitbit and it confirms that I have walked under 500 steps thus far today. I am sorta feeling guilty about it, but I've given up on trying to get labor started, and I know that at most I have one more baby-free day at home - so, why shouldn't I spend all day on my butt, reading the interwebs?

I fully support this laziness! Soak it up knowing a change is so near.
