Is it bad to feed DD cold breastmilk? DH gave her a bottle last night and just used it straight from the fridge without warning it up. He said she didn't seem bothered by the temperature and ate fine.
When can I start to pump? M is 11 days old. engorgement subsided Monday. I'm leaking and gross in the mornings and would love to pump a bit to prevent leaky boobs.

Nope. Mine have always been picky as what about temp but if yours aren't, that's easier on you!

My wrists have been hurting so much while I BF. I googled, and apparently this is a real thing. It's caused by using the cross cradle hold, which I still need to do to get her to latch. I can't wait for her to get older and latch by herself. Ouch!

is it normal for milk to separate? I had a pumped bottle in the fridge for only 2 days and it separated. I didn't need it so I shook it up and put it in a freezer bag.

Totally normal. Just don't shake it. Warm it up and gently swirl it

Yep. "Mommy wrist." I got it with DS2 from carrying him

The babies are eating so much and so frequently right now and my supply is having a hard time keeping up with them. I just pumped and got way less than usual and I'm not sure if I have enough to get them through the night without supplementing. Which I know is not the end of the world but it makes me sad, I am really proud that I've been producing so much. I think sleep affects my supply too and I haven't gotten enough of that the last few nights...

I've noticed that sleep really impacts my supply, too! Also hydration.
I've been BFing, pumping, and occasionally supplementing with formula since the beginning. I felt sad about it at first - but it's really what I need to do to keep him fed and for me to get a little sleep. ((Hugs)) and just know that it's more than ok to do what you need to do to take care of your babies AND yourself!
Why does overactive letdown have to result in my baby screaming multiple to,Es a day?! Sigh. I've read so many websites and nothing works quickly to resolve baby's immediate anger. I just hope he gets used to it soon or my body works with him better soon.

I was totally going to make cookies yesterday but NO EGGS, womp womp. I'm going to do it today!! Goals.
Sorry I haven't been around, like at all. But I've tried to keep up as best I can, which is not very well.
On to the point. Lactation cookies are awesome! With DD1 my husband ate as many as I did and I continued to make them long after I stopped nursing.
The ones i make are just my favorite oatmeal cookie recipie, I go a little light on the oatmeal then add 1 tablespoon of milled flax seed, 1/4 cup Brewers yeast, and empty 4 of my feenugreek pills in there as well, oh and of course a full bag of chocolate chips!! So yummy!!! Weather or not they actually lead to increased milk production is purely ancidota, however, they are a very healthy snack while breastfeeding. Well, as healthy as a cookie can be, but all the good stuff in there results in me treating them like salad.

lol salad cookies.
I ended up making a lower carb version (lower but not low carb -- nursing seems to keep my blood sugar really low so I haven't been as careful lately!). Still has oats, but I added in some almond meal and used coconut sugar, plus the yeast etc. pretty tasty! I've been way hungry and they seem to hit the spot

hannahbear care to come make me some salad cookies?!?!? I'm very hungry as well but have been too lazy to make cookies. Maybe Wednesay when S1 is in school so I'll just have S2 (my baker) and M.

I totally bought stuff to make oatmeal cookies today.
shanny my letdown was so bad I was holding a red solo cup to the boob first and getting like a half inch full. I thought I'd never be able to nurse in public. The LC told me to stop and just let him have it so he'd get used to it and it would regulate. I did, the first week sucked and he choked a lot but then it did work and it's totally normal now. Hope you gets yours under wraps soon!!

Oh wow. That is a lot! It just took a week? So there's hope?! Thanks. Last night I tried side lying and making him keep going through letdown and it seemed to be better than when we are sitting in glider. Unfortunately, side lying is not an option anywhere but home, haha.

Arghhh. This kid has been on one boob or the other for at least half of every hour since 5pm, and it's now 10pm. He stopped nursing about 10 min ago but then started crying with a dirty diaper, and didn't stop even after it was changed. I told DH I needed 30 minutes away from baby, and he took him in the other room, but I still hear him crying. Ugh. I know cluster feeding is common at this time but it has been every single evening for daaaays and it is so rough.

Ugh I'm so sorry, that's rough.
This might be controversial but I have found that when I manage to hold them off longer between feedings (within limits obviously), they nurse better and get more once I do let them on. Is there any way you could make him wait half hour longer in between each feeding? Maybe your husband could rock him during that time?

I'm pretty sure we're going to have to supplement to make it through the night and I'm sad. :-( I know it's not the end of the world but I feel bad that I'm not keeping up with their needs.

I take it back! Didn't need to supplement tonight. But unfortunately that's because I was awake extra and did an extra MOTN pump...

hummingbird125 sorry for you! I had that moment where I literally couldn't listen to the screaming anymore and I could hear from everywhere in my house. I left him with hubs and I sat in my car in the garage in the dark silence for 20 minutes. Lol

Anyone know where to get nursing tops for cheap? I want the t shirt style that has a flap you lift that's acceptable for work (not sleep Cami). Everything I'm seeing online is like $30-50 per shirt. I normally won't spend more than $12 on a shirt...is that possible to find? Lol

I buy these and I'm able to just pull the v-neck down. They look pretty nice, and they're cheap so I don't care if they get ruined from leaking, spit up, or being washed a million times. I have small boobs though, so not sure if they'd work for everyone. www.target.com/p/boyfriend-v-neck-tee-mossimo-supply-co/-/A-50057288 Edit: they also come in a lot of solid colors

So I clearly did something wrong. I washed my pump parts and then decided to try the store in the fridge thing. I pumped at 4am and then put everything in a big ziplock, and then when I took the bag out again (did t have a chance to pump until about 9 or so) it all smelled like sour milk. It was gross!! Did I misunderstand how this is supposed to work?

I just put a tank on and a shirt on top, pull the shirt up and the tank down, spicysalmonroll.
