- 2 months today!
- going pretty well, I had a major melt down earlier this week but now I feel great. The constant up and down of emotions is exhausting.
- the constant breast feeding is exhausting (I do one and then the other, tandem feeding made me go BSC). I'm trying to enjoy it but it'll be so nice once the babies are older and don't eat so damn much!
- QOTW: we bought a mountain condo this summer so that's our only vacation spot for the foreseeable future! We love it though!

How old/combo (gg/bb/bg/etc) are your multiples? B & L are about 7.5 months
- How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss? L is puling himself up on everything and letting go with one hand. DH is convinced he's going to walk by 8 months (please no!). B is really working hard on crawling and she has been so chatty lately (nailing her consonants). No Dr appointments until 9 months.
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on? Something happened earlier this week and I though I should ask about this but now my brain is blank.
- Any feeding specific questions regarding nursing, FF, solids, weaning, etc? For those doing BLW what do you do with your toothless babies? DS1 had a couple teeth by 7 months and continued to get a couple every few months and it looks like L is on that pattern but miss B has nothing and no signs of teeth coming.
- QOTW: Since I'm currently on summer vacation, tell us about yours, or if you haven't been on one, tell us about your most recent or upcoming one. We head to California next week for 4 days! Kids are coming so no sleeping in but at least we'll be on a relaxed schedule with cool air and beach time.
Triplets BGG are about 9.5 months/6 months adjusted
Kids don't have any major appts. Nat has an ent appt for her huge hemangioma on Monday. Trying to delay surgery until she's one but might have to do it sooner since it's causing major discomfort. Still the normal 14 hours of pt, ot, dt, and speech every week to catch up on milestones! Nolan is almost crawling and Gracie is almost sitting up. We are making progress.
Questions- Gracie has two teeth just starting to break through. She's been running a low grade temp for a little over a week. No other symptoms besides typical teething stuff- fussy, clingy, drooling etc but how long does the temp usually last?
Feeding questions- We do one yogurt and a fruit and veggie a day. Stage 1 baby food. Lately they just seem like they don't like it and kinda just spit it out. Our speech therapist said it sounded like I should move up to stage 2 bc they eat my food great (like table sweet potatoes green beans etc). What do y'all think?
Qotw: I have a cruise with just me and hubby scheduled for the first of January! I'm super excited. It's a weeklong to somewhere I don't remember lol!

- How old/combo (gg/bb/bg/etc) are your multiples? 12.5 months, b/g
- How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss? We had our 12 month appointment last week. 5 shots each, yiiiiikes. It was supposed to be 4 each but we're catching up on Hep B as it wasn't offered in England. I'll be glad when the 18 month ones are done and dusted and we have a few years free from stabbing our children. Got some accurate weights, too. A is up to 25lbs, and E is actually 20lbs. I'm so used to her being a skinny little mini compared to A, so that was a shock. Pleased she's gaining well as she self-weaned pretty early and that was always a worry for me.
Just gotta say, I'm amazed at their comprehension at 12 months. They've learned so many words recently, I'm so excited for the talking to start! And it's basically the sweetest thing ever to have two babies lift up their shirts and pat their bellies at the mention of the word "tummy", and then do the same to me!
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on? Babies fighting over who gets to climb onto mama's lap, and get upset when they're both sitting on mama's lap together. Any solutions for this?
- QOTW: Since I'm currently on summer vacation, tell us about yours, or if you haven't been on one, tell us about your most recent or upcoming one. (Sorry I'm dialing this one in) DH is using his holidays dotted throughout summer so he gets a ton of long weekends. On our most recent one, we drove to a lake about 30 minutes from home, the piranhas paddled in the water with DH and DSD (I got to sit by myself and read for 10 minutes, it was divine!), and then we walked around on the grass for a bit. This is about as much excitement we're after post-Vancouver-trip, because that shit was exhausting. No more "long trips" until they're older, a day or even a half-day is enough for me!

snd1231, A had a low-grade fever when he broke his first tooth, and it lasted about 24hrs. Haven't had that as a teething symptom since, though. And I say go for it with trying Stage 2. You can always stop and wait a few more weeks if any issues should arise, but it sounds like they could definitely be ready.
mrsmcsmith09, A lagged behind E with teeth but usually ate better than her. Soft cooked vegetables, soft ripe fruits (pear was perfect and a favourite, sliced bananas are great too, and raspberries when they're ready), and I did small bits of minced chicken or turkey in the beginning. Sometimes I tested food by just pressing it between my lips to see how easily it'd mush down, that reassured me that their gums+jaw strength would be able to pulverize anything.
twobananas, Keep it up, mama! I could probably count the number of times I tandem-fed on my fingers. I much preferred doing it one at a time. It's time-consuming, but it'll get easier every week
Fraternal boys, 13 months. Life is crazy but they are awesome.
Daily, I am reminding myself the boys are two different people who happened to be born at the same time. I struggle to not worry about how A's language milestones don't match his brother's. C can say a handful of words, will copy most sounds we make, and recognizes many other words he can't say yet. As A seems not yet ready to talk, we are trying to teach him some sign language to help when he gets frustrated, but that's been slow going too. He does know how to tell us he's "all done" at mealtimes. Neither are walking yet, but they're getting close, and climbing on (and falling off of) EVERYTHING.
No doc appts until 15mo. Monday is a big-ish day...back to back first dentist appts and haircuts are scheduled. Dentist should be easy, but the haircuts will likely be a different story!
No questions really. twobananas, I also found tandem feeding to be harder most of the time. I remember wanting so bad to be able to do it to save time, but I think unless you have two awesome nursers who totally get it, it's hard to get all those body parts in the right places and give both babies the attention they need. Either way, you're doing great!
QOTW: I work FT, but DH has a lighter summer work schedule so we usually try to use my vacation in the summer. We took the boys to DH's family's lake cabin for a week in July which went better than expected, probably because we brought my mom as Official Baby Watcher. My in-laws mean well but are super inattentive babysitters = NOT a good combo in a very un-baby proofed cabin. It was fun, but not truly relaxing. We still send the boys to daycare FT all summer and have taken advantage of about a half a dozen days to do dates without them. Today was one; we went grocery shopping (partay LOL) and then canoeing, one of our favorite things we do together as a couple. Sometimes I feel like we should be using that time to do new things with the boys, but as it's hard to get "us" time, it's probably good we are investing in our relationship, too.
We had our 9m checkup a month ago and had some concerns so we had another appointment this week. W's reflux was one of them and it seems to be under control, although it is concerning that she isn't growing out of it. A has crept back up to the 10th percentile and stayed there for a few months now! He also just got his second DOC band, which means we have 3-4 more months with it. This time around he notices it, and his head shape is so improved from the first one so I'm struggling. It really irritated his skin this week and I'm not sure I'm up for a big fight with it but we'll see how it goes. W is cruising, mostly with one hand on something purely for balance, not support. She lets go when she's standing close to me and gets SO excited before falling. And her giggle, OMG! A is trying so so hard to pull up. He is doing a weird scoot. In both cases, his right leg seems to be in the way. The pedi is a little concerned but hopeful it will resolve once he's walking. Once he's up, he cruises pretty well, and he'll even move from the sofa to a toy pretty smoothly.
I'd take any anecdotes about weird development resolving itself without intervention. I'm officially a SAHM now and specialist appointments will really stress our budget. Oh and any help with how to keep W from trampling A? She seems to consider him a roadblock, poor little dude.
Feeding is going pretty well. When did you introduce a spoon? I'm terrified of the mess. I mean, they are giant messes anyway, but this seems like a new level of gross.
QOTW: Vacation? What is that? Our last real vacation was 2 years ago- a long weekend in NOLA just before we started seeing the RE. And before that, a week in Aruba 5 years ago. We're definitely due, but I think it'll have to wait until next year. If money were no object, I'd hijack my aunt's trip to Costa Rica this fall. Maybe I can talk her into paying my way...
snd1231, I'm all for challenging them! We practically skipped Stage 1 foods- they didn't like the texture. Our pedi actually pushed us to challenge them with different textures as early as possible- some early pickiness with W had her concerned she might have some sensory issues with food.

Thank you! The kids definitely aren't very fond of the texture considering they can't get enough real table foods (only sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, squash etc). I definitely think I'll try the next stage when I buy again or just make my own since they are eating it how I cook it anyhow.

- How old/combo (gg/bb/bg/etc) are your multiples? 11 month old ID girls
- How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss? 1 year check up next month. They're both showing some pre-walking signs. L can walk with the walker like a champ but doesn't get up and stand unassisted on her own. M does that constantly but can't hang with the walker. I'm having a secret little competition in my head to see which of these practices is more effective, is that bad?
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on? Nah. Going through the rough transition to daycare now. They started last week and luckily every day was a little better, because that first day sucked. This is when I'm glad I'm a STM and I know it will be ok. Still hard though.
- Any feeding specific questions regarding nursing, FF, solids, weaning, etc? I have weird anxiety about starting to decrease their formula amounts and introduce WCM after their birthday. I'm going to do it but I am super hung up about it, don't know why.
- QOTW: Since I'm currently on summer vacation, tell us about yours, or if you haven't been on one, tell us about your most recent or upcoming one. (Sorry I'm dialing this one in) No vacations here, after our move last spring I've had no desire to go anywhere at all for like a year. Hoping to go on an Alaska cruise next summer with H!
