First week back at work! Super busy. I've been working from home and it's bad because I took a few power naps this week.
Pumping and breastfeeding is going well. DS is doing well with the bottles and usually eats all 4 ounces in each bottle. I leak a lot so I am worried about leaking at work.
Childcare is great. We have a great daycare. DS is very happy and DD is doing well in her new class. H told me she walked into the room, put her bag up on the hook by herself and sat down at the table for breakfast without any prompting. Adorbs.
I'm struggling keeping up with laundry since we cloth diaper. I think I'll have to put all laundry on the weekends in order for it to get folded/put away. I have a basket of kids clothes sitting in the hallway because there is no time to put them away in the evenings before they are in bed. Some of my diapers don't dry very fast so I'm having to figure that out as well.
I had a full week but only had 2 huge projects to work on. So it's been nice to ease back in and not feel like I'm running around with 80 million things to do right away.

Not sure how I missed this on Friday. I agree with continuing to do this.
- How long have you been back at work? I went back two weeks ago, doing two partial weeks. This week is my first full week.
- How are you doing at work? If breastfeeding how's the pumping/BFing at home going? Pretty well so far.
- How do you feel about your child care situation? I feel okay about it. DS got a cold week two which made me feel like a crummy parent for sending my baby to daycare to be exposed to germs at such a young age.
- How are you doing with baby/home life? We have a routine that is going well. Dinner time sucks because DH isn't always off work yet and it's DS' fussy time. It's exhausting!
- Tell us something awesome that happened at work this week. What about at home? Nothing awesome happened since it was slow. But I did enjoy spending time with work friends. And while it sucked for DS to get sick, it was nice to have some extra cuddle time and two ore days off with him.
Interviewed today for what seems to be a great opportunity. But I have NEVER worked 5 days a week. Im used to 3-12s or so...
How do u mamas who work full time make sure you get enough time with the LO? I feel like i will miss so much!
For me it's about quality VS quantity. When I'm home with the kids I really make the most of it. With DS I put him to bed every night so I spend time talking with him while getting him ready then we have the closeness while nursing him to sleep. On the weekends I just make sure I take time to talk and play with him throughout the day. And same really goes for DD. During the week I usually try to spend some time playing with her before I get DS down. Some nights I give her a bath and ask H to watch DS so I can have some more one on one time with her. And on the weekends we usually go outside and spend time together just the two of us as well as grocery shop together.
I stayed home with DD her first year. DS went into daycare at 9 weeks old. I don't think it's going to make him feel any less loved than DD nor do I feel like we really get any less time. I find that I really enjoy the time I do get with them so much more. It makes the weekends that much more special too.
- How are you doing at work? If breastfeeding how's the pumping/BFing at home going? Pumping is ok. I've managed a schedule where I can work from home in the early mornings. It lets me do my 9am session at home. At work I've got my own office and mini fridge so there's no drama, but man I hate lugging that pump in. I wish my old one still worked well so I could have one in each place.
- How do you feel about your child care situation? Good. They're at the same place, so I'm already comfortable with the staff and know the policies. I wish she had the same baby teacher J did, but they are in a different class room. She seems happy though.
- How are you doing with baby/home life? I forgot home many dishes pumping and daycare creates! Every day it's a set of pump parts, 4 drinking bottles, and at least three pumping/storage bottles. It takes up 2/3 of the top rack of the dishwasher.
- Tell us something awesome that happened at work this week. What about at home? At work, I taught my first class since coming back and it wasn't a trainwreck. At home, A is learning to sit up and big brother is pooping in the potty all by himself! I never imagine being so happy to have someone take a crap in my kitchen. (FYI all of our bathrooms are beyond baby gates from the main living area. We aren't weirdos who keep our toilets in the kitchen normally.)

fishbulb DD takes so long to go potty that we pull it into the kitchen sometimes just so we can get things done! The other night H and I were eating dinner while cheering DD on who was pooping. Never in my life did I think that would happen!!
