Venting ahead: I've been dealing with a work thing all week. Management declined my request to take that higher level job for 6 months. They made some terrible excuse that made no sense. The reality is they rely on me alot and other staff who get paid more are very useless there. It's not worth fighting with the union on this, since it's not that much higher pay. But I was still pissed. And of course I cried in the office when they old me, I hated that I did that.
On a good note, we are seeing 4 houses this morning and I had a dream we got my favourite one out of the bunch for 30k under asking. Not likely but still a nice dream!

I'm always up this early. Siiiigh.
That job situation really sucks, mikaela20. The actual situation, AND crying at work. Worst.
I've been having really disturbing dreams, which are amplified by pregnancy hormones, of course. Tonight's involved accidentally suffocating my dog in a bag. But then, he was just a dog cookie so it was okay. :/ Dreams are so weird.
We're going out to my MIL's house today, and we're going to tell her about her next (and final) grandchild. Should be fun. Much more fun than more creepy dreams!
So, one of my friends who just had her baby on the 8th of August is having a 'Welcoming Party' on the 20th for 'Baby X'.
What exactly is a Welcoming Party? I've never heard of this before.
Did she have a shower? My Jewish friends have these types of parties in lieu of a shower. I usually bring a gift in that case.
Otherwise, I'm guessing she wants to handle all of the 'come over and meet baby' visits in one go. I wouldn't bring a gift unless it's a very close friend, or I might bring a baby book or something small.

She had a shower a couple months ago that I went to and brought a gift. She's a friend of a friend really, I know her but we aren't excessively close. She didn't really have any description on the FB invite, but the idea of having everyone come and meet the baby all at once seems about right.
We're up. It's DH's Friday so I'm excited for him to come home. Not much going on today. I may try again to take DS to the park, the last few times I tried it rained.
DH was supposed to be off work at 230am, but didn't get off until 630. He goes back in at 3pm today which means he has to sleep all day. He works 3pm-730am tonight with another shift at 3pm tomorrow so our entire weekend is shot
For anyone who remembers me mentioning we've been having H go in when DD wakes up at night to break the nursing at night habit.. I had to go in last night b/c H was working. I planned on not nursing, but DD FREAKED out at me, screaming, swinging arms, would NOT settle down until I nursed her. Idk if she expected H, or if she was mad at not nursing, or both..but idk what else to do with her. My other option is to just not go in I guess? But I don't really want to go that route. It's hard when H is gone 5+ nights a week. Ugh. End rant.
mikaela20 I'm so sorry - and after all the thought you put into accepting that position. That's so shitty of them I'm mad for you too.
I'm also having slight insomnia. I've been falling asleep fine but wake up every.single.night. around 3:30am and toss and turn and can't fall asleep easily.
My Pinterest is full of recipes for homemade baby formula. People don't really do that....do they?
Apparently some people actually do this. They're usually the crazy anti-vaxxers who are convinced that big pharma and the formula companies are out to get them. No one in their right mind would risk the health of their baby by making their own formula.
This was my thinking but some of my old friends are pinning this crap! I just can't imagine doing something like this as a FF myself.
Solidarity Fearsy.... I am definitely in the "is she pregnant or is she full of food" stage. I am starting this pregnancy weighing more than I did when my first was born so I know it's going to be a long road.
Appointment was fine. Blood work, BP, pee in a cup, internal exam (tilted ute again), due date confirmation, and then she said she wants me to go get an early ultrasound because I'm almost 30. So I have find out if it covered by insurance. She didn't even try to hear the heartbeat but last night my first appt. was at 9 weeks and she couldn't hear it due to the tilted ute.
Fearsy I just took a family picture last week. I feel you.
I'm crabby today, and no clue why. Honestly, I think I'm really nervous about my u/s. As of today- 8 weeks!!- I'm more pregnant than I've ever been before and I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. I'm also hot constantly and I've had a headache for 3 days now!!! Sorry for all the complaining.
We are getting together w 2 other couples today for a beer festival and a BBQ. These friends don't have kids so it will be a nice day away from thinking about babies. Although, me not drinking will be odd. I think I'll just say I'm taking meds.

Let us know how the reveal goes!! Sorry for the weird dreams.

I took the kids to Michaels and then the grocery store this morning while DH went to they gym. By the time we got to check out at the grocery store I was spent. I texted DH to see where he was at and didn't get a response. Got home and he was there so I got the kids out of the car, grabbed the frozen stuff and made it to the front door, only to find it locked because he went in the back door. So, I'm loaded down with frozen stuff, the kids are straggling behind me, and I'm feeling like shit. I lost it and yelled at DH when I finally got the door open which then set him off. He brought the rest of the groceries in, but then camped out upstairs while I had to put everything else away and get lunch started. I calmed down and apologized to him shortly after and 2 hours later he's still giving me attitude. Get over it dude. What's the point of me apologizing if you apparently aren't going to get over it?
TL:DR I overreacted early when I wasn't feeling well and pissed off DH. I apologized but he's still giving me attitude 2 hrs later.
Fearsycosmicav also feel like I look pregnant even though I'm only 7 weeks. I bought some shirts at the thrift store that are loose in the mid section to help hide the extra weight.
Hope you find something that looks cute and works for you Fears!
Oh- and is anyone watching "the night of?" It's totally intense. We watched the first one last night and I was on the edge of my seat!
Totally!!! We cancelled our HBO though to save $ so we will either need to pop over to our parents' house to keep up or figure out if we can buy by episode somehow.
