I'm starting to plan to fit a baby in our condo- babies are small after all, right? After 2 rounds, and going 30k over asking, we still didn't get the house today.
mikaela20 I'm sorry. House hunting is so stressful! My MIL kept her kids in a drawer while they were really small...so you could always use that space saving technique!
(I'm kidding!)
I've started pinning closet nurseries. It's a thing, who knew!? Lol

We started housing hunting before I was pregnant with baby #1. Took a break when it was close enough to having the baby that I didn't want to consider a move. Started looking again when he was maybe 3 months old and moved into our home on his first birthday. Babies in condos or apartments are totally doable. And bonus, since we'd been looking for so long, we knew exactly what we wanted, what we felt we could compromise on, and what was right for the market. It'll all come together.

The reveal went great! We had Elena in a shirt that said "Big sisters are the best," and casually got MIL to read it. She did an adorable, "...Big sisters? Big...sisters are the best? Are you pregnant?!?!" Then she shouted with joy and scared Elena, who has a killer pouty face, but she was fine after a moment. MIL is very excited.
Just catching up here now at my ridiculous early awake time. Ugh.
mikaela20 so sorry about the house. Babies really are small the at beginning, and you definitely don't need all the stupid crap that's on all the lists of stuff for baby. If no other good options come in for a new place, you can definitely have your baby in your condo. (I don't mean home birth, unless that's your thing.)
+whatever to The Blump is Real. I already have an extra 15 pounds from last time but it wasn't concentrated around my belly. Now all I see in the mirror is belly. I'll be 10 weeks tomorrow, so that's definitely not baby. My already large boobs are enormous, too. Calm down, tits!

mikaela20 I've definitely looked at closet nurseries. Some of them are pretty cute. We will have baby in our room for a long while so I've been looking for space saving/sharing ideas for a while. City living is tough. Summer is also a hard time to buy here - our market has very low inventory and everything goes with escalation. In retrospect I don't think the houses we lost were worth what they sold for, and we like where we wound up. But shopping in a competitive housing market is really tough.
I'm so sorry mikaela20. I agree with others that a baby in a condo/apartment is totally feasible, especially for the first year. But I do hope you're able to find something you love soon!
That reveal sounds adorable kristhegirl. Glad it went well!
I'm curled up on the couch watching the women's marathon. DS is being a good sport this morning and happily playing independently, which is nice because I still feel super crappy. We have no plans for today and I'm hoping it stays that way!
Taking the kids to my parents, club pool. Grandparents and husband to help keep an eye on the kids plus my parents membership for our lunches and drinks. Just too bad I'm knocked up this time and can't enjoy some adult beverages today too.
mikaela20, when my first was born, we lived in a one bedroom apartment with baby in the same room as us. We just moved from there recently. They really don't take up a lot of space in the beginning! You can make it work, if small space is what must happen
DH comes home from his work trip late tonight. I don't know how people who single parent in the long term do it. So exhausted and ready for another set of hands!
DD was miserable yesterday, even after spending $90 at Target on her (isn't $ supposed to buy happiness?? Kidding...I just spend too much $ at Target). Fortunately, she woke up much happier today! We also didn't nurse this morning.and she didn't ask..which may mean we're down to only bedtime nursing. I'm happy b/c I wanted to be done AM nursing by the time we are leaving her with my parents overnight next weekend (one less time having to pump), but I'm also sad that this means we're even closer to the end.
I just keep reminding myself that in 7-8 months I'll be back to feeling like a cow, nursing every 1-2 hours 24/7!
I just got back from brunch. I seriously ate so much: piece of banana nut bread, pancake, an omelette, Mac and cheese, steak; sausage, bacon, cauliflower and salad. I was annoyed I couldn't have the smoked salmon or fresh OJ or the mimosa some random bought for our table.
Can't tell if I'm tired because I have no responsibilities today or if I'm tired because pregnancy.
Trying to muster the gusto to go grocery shopping.
Also, wish my boobs would grow. They are ever so slightly larger but not dramatically so. I've always been on the small side so I was looking forward to seeing something happen in that region.
