Woke up, got a shower, put half of my makeup on and the power went out. Managed to get the rest of my makeup on using my iPhone flashlight. Got DD ready and left for the back up sitter (regular sitter closed today). Get a text on the way that she doesn't have power either. Now I'm back at home with no power and trying to entertain my daughter who's asking for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

It's raining here. I'm the only one awake at the moment, which is how I like my mornings. I still need to do my makeup, but I had to eat before that happened and I'm still hungry. Our microwave went out when I was making my breakfast, so hopefully Dh can go get that replaced today.
Sounds like a weird day today for a few of us... I'll be on the look out! erinshelley21 how often do microwaves just stop working? I've never had one die on me before!
I'm going to ease myself back into thinking about school again. Going to go to my classroom today and start chipping away at organizing and arranging furniture. They had to remove everything from my room to re-do the floors so I have no idea what chaos I'm going to find once I get there...

Not real sure. I heard a pop when I warmed my bacon up the first go around, but it did the same the other day and still warmed my food. Today it did no warming. The microwave came with the house so it's probably 7 years old based on when the original owners renovated, which I don't think is very old in microwave life considering my brother still has the one my parents bought like 16 years ago.

My Timehop showed a picture from 3 years ago comparing my 17w and 21w baby bump. I look 17 weeks pregnant at the moment, which is not good at 8.5 weeks.

I think bodies change and that's okay! I was looking at bump pictures for 20 weeks for some reason, and a lot of them looked how I look now... but I think it's just they had really tight small bumps haha! I'm hoping that this weight I've gained ends up evening out the further I get into the pregnancy.

Happy Monday.
Just coming off not having my power you have all my sorries.
Ugh, I'm sorry everyone's Mondays are going like mine is so far. Teething is the worst. It kept us up for a solid two hours last night, and this morning DS is still a mess. The good news is I can see the tooth beginning to poke through, so hopefully it ends soon.
Also, I found out this morning DS will be graduating to the toddler room in September. I'm happy this means he's growing, but also sad, because it's just one more way my baby really isn't a baby anymore
Ah, going back to school posts. School's been back here for 2 weeks now.
DS's birthday party is this weekend. At our house. DH is traveling tomorrow through Thursday morning so I'm on my own with the kids plus getting the house ready for the party. Cleaning the house can be a fun game for kids, right?

Just dropped DS off at MIL's for the day and there was a baby there. MIL is the backup sitter for like 3 different families, so that's where the baby came from. She was so upset until I picked her up and she stopped crying. When I put her down and tried to leave she started crawling towards me. It made me sad that I couldn't just hold her. Poor DS had no clue what was going on lol.
Dammit, callmeKD! Scrolling through the weekend randoms and I see your ticker. "My baby is the size of a donut hole".....and now I'll be going to get donut holes when C wakes up from her nap.
Bwahaha I haven't been on my laptop to see what it changed too. Donut holes for everyone! Happy Monday!
I'm kind of panicking, I just talked to my best friend and she booked her wedding for exactly 6 weeks after my due date. I don't want to be the super special snowflake lady who makes everything about my baby, but the thought of flying with a newborn is giving me so much anxiety. And having to wear a bridesmaids dress that soon after birth, I'm working on accepting that I'll be a puffy mess in the pictures but this is going to be rough
Deep breaths! It might be ok. We traveled with DD at 12 weeks (she was early so she should have only been 8 weeks.) and it was easy.

Super small babies are easy to travel with. They just need milk on take off and the will be out for the flight.
Reading all of these back to school posts makes me sad that this is my last full week home until I have to go back too. I hope all of your Monday's improve...it can only go up from here, right? Maybe someone will bring in tasty lunch treats?
@ugqqueencity I love Charleston! Jealous! And whoa- the wedding would totally stress me out too....
My Monday is off to a smooth start actually! I got in work early- around 7- bc we have our first OB appt this afternoon. (We actually are going to see two OB's choose after the first appointments....) It was super quiet in my office and I've been pretty productive!
I haven't gained any weight yet per the scale- actually down a couple lbs., but my pants are tight today and I am sitting here with them unbuttoned. These pants normally have a little extra room. This is a really awkward stage!!

What a Monday!!! Hope it gets better for some of you ladies!!
I'll be dropping off DS at my sil's and heading to my appt later today. Can't wait to see this little gummy bear again. I think they're considering this my 12 week appt even thought I'm only 11 today, I'll be asking some questions for future appts.

ugaqueencity I'll be missing my brother's wedding. My due date is 3/25 and they were looking at 4/1. It would require a flight, so not going to work. Not ideal, but it happens.

Honestly, they are way easier to travel with when they are that little. We took a 15 hour road trip with DS when he was only 7 weeks and he slept most of the time.
Happy Monday everyone...it looks like I'm not the only one already looking forward to Friday!
ugaqueencity, you're better than me for even entertaining the idea. While it's doable at 6 weeks (as everyone else has said, traveling when they're tiny is much easier than when they're older!), I would have zero problem saying "sorry, not going to happen"..but I'm just not warm and fuzzy when it comes to the first couple months after having a baby! Also, I do everything in my power to avoid being in weddings, post partum or not. Just not my cup of tea.
We have a friend coming by this afternoon to give us a quote to finish our basement (future playroom!). I'm thrilled, but anxious because I have (what I think is a pretty reasonable) $ in my mind of what I think it'll cost..but I'm preparing to get a quote that's double that. Why do house projects have to be so expensive?
On another note..morning sickness found me today. No puking (yet), but lying on the floor, deep breaths and focusing on not throwing up, while trying to keep an eye on DD. Idk how you ladies who have to get up and out the door by a certain time and into an office do it!

Ten weeks today! This pregnancy feels so much faster than my first, probably because I found out about my daughter about three seconds after we had sex and it was a bit further along for this one. But double digit weeks feels good!
