I have to plan a snack for an event. The kids attending will be putting it together themselves. I'm trying to avoid trail mix unless it's some really fun new ingredients (not just Chex, raisins, and M&Ms). Here are the guidelines:
Not too messy (kids as young as 4K may be participating) Can go in a ziplock bag Nut-free Healthy Easy/cheap enough because about 150 kids will be participating

LOL at not too messy if 4yos are helping put it together.
I would probably do fruit kabobs. Have cut up apples, bananas, mandarin oranges, grapes, etc. The kids get a kabob and go down the line assembling it. But depending on the kids, you may want to skip the sharp stick and just do fruit salad in a bowl instead.

Scratch that. Just saw it needs to go in a ziplock. If that's the case, trail mix is about your only option, right? Seeds, raisins, craisins, cheerios, etc.
