Sorry for those dealing with rough nights/mornings of little sleep and to those with sick kids and husbands.
k3am, that is crazy! How scary about the car sniper. Hope it was him/her that they caught!
babycaps, I think we are the same person right now. DS1 is going through the same phase of being really clingy at night and the more I go in the more he cries for me to go back in. I have been leveling with him at night about how each of us sleeps in our own bed, and that he is a big boy who can fall asleep on his own. It's working so far.
So today was a hard day as a parent for me. I brought DS1 to a 'day camp' where you drop them off for 1hr and 45min and they do crafts and play in a gym. There was one teacher and 4 2 year olds. When I picked DS1 up I was asked not to enroll him in anymore camps until he can listen better. Cue tears in my eyes. The teacher said he was purposely not listening and running away. This 'one ear, out the other' not listening in going on about 2 weeks not and I just don't know what to do. That situation made me feel so defeated as a parent. I don't want to have the kids the teachers dread.
What kind of camp, Walke? That sounds like a typical two year old behavior to me!
It was through a gymnastics company. They have a large gym with all the typical gymnast things (vault, rings, beam, parallel bars and multiple foam pits) where the older kids practice and a smaller gym for the littles. For some reason they let the littles play in the big gym area (while the big kids are practicing). Carter ran away from the teacher in there. She said his behavior is a safety concern, which I get, but maybe don't take 2 year olds in a dangerous area?
It's just the way she lectured me on teaching him to listen better was really discouraging, like I clearly wasn't doing a good job at home. IDK, parenting toddlers is hard. It's making me question whether I'm doing a good job or not.

walkek85, I can understand that this would make you feel bad but don't! I think the teacher needs a better knowledge of child development. You can't expect two years olds to listen that well, especially in a new or different environment like a gym. Don't beat yourself up. You are a good momma!
Your doing a great job walkek85 , it's just a maturity thing. J is the same age as your DS 1 and there are many, many times when he is a terrible listener. It's at its worst when he's in a new situation. He ruined our family photo shoot last week by running away and generally being a little shot. That's just him being a two year old.
ETA: Sorry for the autocorrect, he was not being a little "shot". You get the idea.

I am having more coffee this afternoon because my morning cup tasted awful and I am really fading here at work. I hope it doesn't effect DS this evening when I nurse, although it doesn't seem to bother him during the day.
Whaaaat? k3am if they didn't show up until after your run. Wth was going on during your run? Yikes!
My restless legs returned with a vengeance during I's MOTN meal. Apparently BF'ing RLS is a thing. Says Google. Apparently spinach may also help. I started the day with some yoga and I'd love to get out for a jog today.
Have you tried magnesium for the RLS? It works like magic for me. I was able to stay off my Rx for it for almost 3 years because of magnesium.
Only through food. I'm not a huge fan of supplements in general since nutrients are so interconnected. I'm going to give the spinach a whirl since it's got the Magnesium and all the interdependent nutrients dr. google told me about. Blah blah blah. My mind is mush. Trying spinach then I'll go supplements if I absolutely can't stand it. I'm glad it worked like magic for you!

^^^this! You are a great mom walkek85. This sounds like a poorly ran camp to me. I'm sorry!

I hope everyone had good days! Both boys went to "school" for the first day today. I think they both had good days! They both came home happy but hungry and tired. I'm getting some snuggles in before putting them down and getting things ready for tomorrow. I'm exhausted too!

I am sure you are doing an amazing job! Parenting toddlers is hard. Frankly it sounds like this person probably doesn't know much about 2 year olds.
Oh my goodness I officially start my "new job" tomorrow. Kind of bananas and doesn't feel real but I have my alarm set, lunch prepped and all my materials ready to go for tomorrow. Also have to get baby I's stuff ready to go down to the daycare. I won't be able to go to his room for extra diapers or a change of clothes so I feel like I need to pack him for daycare just like anyone else lol. I know it's not really comparable but I'm a little sad tomorrow is the first day he will need to learn to share his mama.

Poor DS has been a hot mess for the last hour. Drooling like mad, fist in mouth, howling:crying. I finally got him to nurse and doze only for me to sneeze suddenly and now we are back to square one.
Toddlers are adorable, sweet little people. And also complete a-holes! DS asked for sour cream ON his taco tonight. I made him point to where he wanted it because I didn't trust that he wanted it on it. And then I did what he asked and he lost his mind because he wanted it on the side so he could dip it and I couldn't completely separate the sour cream from the other ingredients. DH and I had to hide our laughter at the amount of trauma this exchange caused him.

Poor bud, it's the worst when they're unhappy since they can't communicate why 😕
Also, 2 hours and 20 minutes of putting children to bed to far tonight (mostly the baby but DS is already such a dude and likes to a nice leisurely poop in the evening while reading books and he only wants mama to sit with him). Having a glass of wine and crossing my fingers that everyone sleeps for a few hours!
Vent: after getting home late for work, I spent much of the night cleaning for the cleaning lady. Then she texted and asked if she could come next week instead. It was a good thing I was drinking a glass of wine when I got the text. Total first world problem, I know, but I would have loved some relaxation tonight!

My MIL and I don't always see eye to eye BUT I will say that I appreciate that she had no problem with an active toddler. She is very passionate about not breaking their spirit which is not typical of her generation. A lot of people that deal with kids could take a page from her book on that one!
I watch this trashy show called Bachelor in Paradise....anyone else watching? It's embarrassing how much I like it! It airs Mon and Tues night and I will choose to watch it over getting much needed sleep. It is quite possibly the trashiest show I've ever watched and yet I can't stop watching!
