UO - I don't really care for Fall or look forward to it. It's cold, muddy and gross 90% of the time and pretty only about 10% of the time. I seem to get sick *every* single fall. I also hate being cold and the pretty leaves changing doesn't last as long as it should to be enjoyed. Fall basically sucks.
I love fall in Texas because it means it is not 100 billion degrees anymore! I enjoy hanging out in shorts in the 70s. I LOVE FALL CANDLES
Fall nearer to Canada is just the onset of a long, horribly cold and isolating winter. Shorter darker days, colder nights. #winteriscoming

PirateCat, I'm way late in responding to your UO, but even if you don't do a baby shower I think it's still a good idea to do a registry because of the completion coupons you get close to your due date for anything on your registry. Nobody has to have bought anything from it, and you could always keep it private. They just want the money, really.
I will obviously not be having a shower for this baby (since it's my second) but I will definitely be doing a private registry for things like a double stroller, diapers, wipes, etc. that I will need for baby just so I can get the completion coupon.

I hate how much people try to rush the seasons. The fact that people are already clamoring for Starbucks to have PSLs in August every year is mind-boggling. It's 80 degrees. It's not time for fall treats yet. You won't see me drinking/eating pumpkin anything until after September 22nd.

I just drink it year round because I like it. I don't need a date for it to happen. Now that we have a pool though I am dreading winter.
ThankfulSnail, I had heard about this! I should probably keep a list of things we need to buy anyway, so it does make sense to just make a private registry. I'll look into this when I'm a bit further along.
ThankfulSnail just like there's already Halloween candy in all the stores. Who really buys their candy now for ToT, no one! Lol. It's just looking at me, telling me to eat it all.
I know we're all like 5 seconds pregnant but I'm curious Is anyone planning on using cloth diapers??
I was totally on board the first time I was pregnant, and now I'm second guessing... from what I've read it's easier to do when they are newborns anyway because none of their poop is solid. So you can just throw the diapers in the washing machine and everything disintegrates. I'm thinking I'll do cloth until they get more mobile (aka walking or rolling away easily).
eta: once poop starts to get more solid it adds an extra step because you have to dump (or scrape) the poop in the toilet before you can wash it. But, if there's a cloth diaper pro out there please step in because I'm not talking from direct experience!

mosdub we've cloth diapered since DD was a newborn and plan to continue with this little one.
You're right. As newborns you can just chuck it all in the wash because it's water soluble. But there are tons of solutions out there for once you get to them eating real food stage (diaper sprayers, the ole plop & swish method, disposable liners, reusable liners).
I literally hate disposables with a passion. I think they fit weird and smell. I can literally count on one hand the # of blowouts we've had while in cloth and she's 19.5 months.
ourcrazynavylife, I would like to but haven't done much research yet. SIL cloth diapered so she'll be a good resource, in addition to everyone on here.

I'm considering it. But I'm afraid of the upfront cost. And then like what do you do when you're out and about? Do you have to carry your poopy diapers in your bag or do you just use disposables then?

mustloveerica a lot of that is going to be dependent upon the brands that you buy and the style of diaper you choose. You could do covers and flats/prefolds for really cheap. Or you can do all-in-two or all-in-one systems that are more pricey ($15-$30 a diaper).
There are different sizes. Newborn and OS (one size). Also there are some brands that make sized diapers. I don't recommend that because you have to buy more of them as your kid outgrows each size.
Washing depends on how many is in your stash. They recommend washing every 2-3 days. But if you have less diapers you wash more often.
I think for counting how many you need they say about 12 changes per day. So about 24-36 diapers can get you through every other day washing.
Hee Hee I was trying to lay my knowledge on ourcrazynavylife and she's already the resident pro thanks for sharing your experience! I never knew how many or what type to try- unfortunately maybe you just have to experiment and find the ones that work best for you and your baby?

Haha not a pro but I do love my fluffy butts Always trying to recruit more mommas. Haha
Yea the types can be totally overwhelming. We've switched our stash up a couple times. I recommend having multiples types/brands once you hit OS to try. I wish someone had told me that because I got all one brand and they didn't work for us.
I feel like newborns are super easy. You either get some Prefolds and Fitteds for nighttime + a few covers or you just get some all-in-ones. And you can usually get good deals on newborn lots because they don't get used terribly long and most people just want to get rid of them.
