It's raining. All my plans for today were outside so now I got nothing. Except clean the house. Sigh. If the rain calms down a bit later I may venture to the mall.
Off to my 3D ultrasound, then taking the girls to SIL & BIL's so we can go to DH's class reunion tonight. I'm less than excited to go, but thankfully my BFF is married to one of his classmates so I'll have her there.
The rain has put a stop to our plans to clean up outside. H took the kids bowling instead. Yesterday they went to the fair. I'm really enjoying the quiet house, and I'm not doing anything productive, unless playing on Pinterest and watching The Office on Netflix is considered productive.
I actually kind of wish it was raining here; I'm tired of the heat. We're car shopping today. The transmission in FI's Pilot went out yesterday, and since it's 12 years old with over 200k miles, it's not going to be worth it to repair. FI wants a car instead of an SUV, but we're going to be more limited in options since we have to fit three carseats in the backseat. We went and looked at an Accord earlier, and FI likes it, but we'd probably have to replace at least one of our convertible seats with something slimmer. I also just looked at an Elantra online, and it says it has 3" more hip room in the backseat and slightly more cargo space, so we're going to go look at that one when the girls wake up from their nap.
I wish it would rain here. We need it, and I'm so done with summer. I want to be able to wear my long pants and sweaters.
Dh got the crib put together, so all the furniture is done in the nursery. I just spent the last hour researching crib mattresses. Who knew there was so much involved in baby mattresses? Dh's summer work party is tomorrow, I'm super glad it's only supposed to be in the 80s instead of the upper 90s like it's been all week. Hopefully we won't be totally outside the whole time.
We're back from vacation today. DS1 has had a fever since we left yesterday to drive home. I have one day left before going back to work Monday. Wah! And trying to decide which day this week I'll give them my notice. So long, work!
Baby is having a party in there right now. It's always either late at night or like 5 am. Why won't you just let me sleep, baby??

crimpgirl, yes, I survived the reunion. DH and I actually went to school together so I knew everyone there, I just don't necessarily like them. I didn't like them during high school, so I wasn't imagining myself liking them now, but I did have fun.
Took DD for a nice long walk in one of our local parks. She was so pooped she slept in the car on the way home. Then we had to pick my bike up from the bike shop and while there she discovered a little bike with training wheels that's perfectly her size. It took some serious convincing to get her out of the store but we may get that bike for her birthday in a couple months. It's so much easier to buy for toddlers when you find something you know they like!
Right now I'm having a rest because my ankles are swollen to the size of grapefruits while DH takes her to enjoy a swim in the local pool
I do have a question about baby monitors since I've been seeing the Owlet advertised all over my FB and other places. Anyone have experience with it? Or regardless which would you recommend? The one we got for DD was a free one from BRU for completing our registry I think and it was awful and also dead now
lbonga1 I had a friend who really liked the Ford Taurus for its back seat space but idk if it would work for 3 car seats. She only had 2 kids, but another person could fit in the back with the two seats. Have you considered Diono car seats? They're more expensive but a lot narrower
@cahistoryteacher we haven't even ordered our crib yet. 🙈 we got a mattress that could be flipped and used once DD became a toddler. No complaints in that department so I guess it's good? I think it's a Sealy or a Serta. I always get the two confused
ImAPepper my friend's baby has some issues with her esophagus when she was born and she swears by the owlet for peace of mind. She was just raving about it the other day. There are several wearable ones out there, the Owlet seems to me to be the least invasive or complicated since it's just a little sock. Dh interviewed at a company that makes one that sort of looks like a fitbit for their ankle, but the wait list is a mile long. There are some that require special onesies and that just seems too complicated to me. I either want the fitbit style one or an owlet.

I'm still waiting on their new bedding and curtains for the window and closet and I have some photos to print and frame, but I'm so excited how the big girls' room turned out. Next up, turning the office into the playroom.
We also have an in-belly baby party around 11 p.m. each night, along with a few middle-of-the-night Braxton-Hicks just to keep it interesting.
We registered for the Owlet. I'm paranoid, so I think it will give me peace of mind.
crimpgirl Sadly I didn't get anything at the mall, but I did ogle all of the cute baby clothes. My husband got a tie for a wedding he's officiating in a few weeks.
I did get this dress for a steal on ThredUp, and I have high hopes for it.

Such a pretty dress! That is going to be great for so many things! I haven't found a wrap maternity dress anywhere for some reason.
Yay for ogling cute baby clothes
Thanks! I think it will be good for lots of things too. Fingers crossed it fits!
Looks like a lot of you had good weekends. I'm jealous of everyone who got rain or got to go swimming. I need this hot weather streak to break. We're on a water restriction here due to the drought, we can only water gardens three days a week. It looks like the restriction might go down to two days a week soon. I, so happy I didn't plant a vegetable garden this summer. Our lawn got mowed today for the first time in about six weeks, and it didn't even really need it.
I also bought a minivan today, ugh. Everyone keeps telling me I'm going to love it, but I'm still in denial. Let's see if my thoughts change once I pick it up in the AM.

Did I do something to my tapatalk or is tapatalk messed up for anyone else? All the Family boards are in Working Parents. 2015 bmb is gone and 2016 is showing up but no actual bmbs. I only got here by pressing a notification.
ImAPepper I found a few different of the Diono Radians on Amazon for pretty cheap, so I'm going to try to see if BuyBuyBaby will price match and let me use a coupon. If not, I'll just order from Amazon. We decided to try to just be a one-car family for a while (maybe a year?), so we'll definitely have to get one or two to fit in my car with the infant carseat. I drive a Mini Countryman, so it'll be pretty tight in there too, but I know it's doable. At least the Radians convert to high-back boosters, so they'll get a lot of use.

Totally Monday but totally jumping in here! lol.
My weekend well was tiring..In-laws were here so you have to host..not that they are bad people by any means..but you know, make sure put pants and a bra on is so much work. I am sorry for all the people with rain and then the heat. MI had a huge dive in temp this weekend and well it was glorious. I actually had on a light sweater all yesterday. I WILL TAKE IT! This week highest temp 85. SIGN ME UP. I think this "MIGHT" mean fall is knocking on summers door.
lola, That dress is amaze. I am taking a break from shopping the maternity clothing I have acquired has kind of gotten crazy.
@kc295905, I am glad you were smart and bought a bathing suit. I have training in Orlando and have to buy one for next week. MEH. I have a bikini that I wear a very light weight workout top over..but I always get..what the hell is she wearing. I guess I should bask my bump glory. crimpgirl, can you just get a top to go over your bikini. You know go in the workout section buy a XL like dry fit tank top. That would be a solution to not getting the whole bathing suit! OH and high five on cute dress..I have a couple non-maternity things that I "make" work. lol
mrsp121308, AND IT LOOKS AMAZING! My cheap dresser fell through, so I am on a huge hunt for another one. Before I can't help at all with the redo of the paint.
