We are going back to the pediatrician today. LO's cord stump fell off over a week ago and the belly button is still really gooey. The sides keep getting glued shut. Pediatrician mentioned they can help it dry up.
Ds's came off yesterday in his outfit and is not healed at all either. It was yellow/greenish underneath. I called the nurse line and followed up with a call to the pedi today. Just bacitracin and keeping it clean for now, and we're supposed to call if it isn't looking better. His onesies are getting so icky. Ds1's looked normal so this is new to me!
hummingbird125 if the eye is pink, he needs to be seen. If it is just drainage, it's probobly a tear duct. Dd4 has it on and off but her eye never turns red Eta. No I don't think there is much to do other than wipe with warm cloth or massage. I don't think breastmilk helps the blocked tear duct
hummingbird125, for tear ducts the doctor had us massage the corner closest to the nose of the goopy eye.. It cleared in a few days but is something you have to keep up with or goop returns.

Hope it heals soon!
The ped just applied a chemical that helps it scab and dry up, and when it heals there will be normal skin underneath. The goofiness is called a granuloma.
I BF DD in the Moby while grocery shopping this weekend. I felt like super ninja mommy
I can't figure out how to do this. I think my boobs are to big or I tie my Moby to tight.
Me too! I have no spatial skills, so it's always a surprise how high the baby rides in my moby. She was about up by my neck the other day. This is not where I need an adorable baby to distract from my jiggly bits
dc2london, kokopelli, dorkusmalorkus- kudos to you for being able to figure out the moby. I got frustrated and put it right back in the box lol. I bought the infant insert for the tula my mom got me for my bday. But since my bday isn't until the 31st, I can't have it yet lol
I went to BRU today for como tomo bottles and nursing pads. Well they don't stock those bottles, but they had the joovy boob glass ones on sale for crazy cheap. The 8oz ones with the silicone sleeve were only $8!!! I love a good deal

Today is our 6 year anniversary. My mom is going to watch the babies after dinner so H and I can go get ice cream. H is super grumpy though - I think the stress of the last couple weeks is finally catching up to him, and having my family around since the birth has been a lot even though they've been super helpful. I just hope he can snap out of it before our date.

Happy anniversary!! Hopefully some time alone/a break from everyone else will help your husband's mood a bit! I know it always helps my H and I when we can get a break to reconnect a little.
Make no mistake, I had to scooch her down, then point my boob straight up at her. It seemed a little awkward at first but once she latched I had this moment of
dc2london since you are in the blinds thread, am I doing ok posting in parenting? Other than too opinionated about Scrubs. Like parenting scares the shit out of me but I thought I might actually post since several regs are on our BMB. I feel like the etiquette is different over there though. Idk I know this sounds desperate

Girl, you are fine! They aren't as scary as they seem.
Photos went OK. DD3 was an angel - slept the entire time. I have never had a kid who would sleep through things like that before, and so I will finally have cute sleeping baby newborn pictures! DD1 was half her perfect self, half her silly self. DD2 did her own thing as usual. Hopefully we got some good shots anyway.
The stench in our house is slowly receding. I just need to do some tidying and I'll feel like life is more manageable again.
Also- I went for my 2 week follow up today, but my doc was booked so I booked w one of the midwives. When she walked in I realized it was the one I'm not a fan of. Well i had a knot of stitches that didn't dissolve so she said she'd cut it and I wouldn't feel a thing. Bitch cut me!!
hummingbird125 it might be a blocked tear duct, which takes time to go away. DD had one, and I would just keep her eye clean and massage the duct. But every time she woke up it was always goopy. It went away on its own around 7 months.

Wtf? How horrible! I'm sorry
It's not a big cut or anything but it definitely hurt and still stings a bit. I would've just cut it myself if I had known that's what she'd do in the office.
steph you had a csection right? She cut you taking stitches out? They must have been super tight. Yeash!
The blind reveal thread on patenting. It's basically celebrity gossip generated from another website that is run by an industry insider (?). Idk they are fun to read but move super quick.

H and I had a really nice date. We just got ice cream and bought diapers at the drugstore, haha... but it was so nice to reconnect a bit. We have had so much family around that we haven't had much chance to talk to each other.
The babies are napping together in one bassinet and it is so cute. Her eyes are open but she isn't crying like she normally does when she wakes up by herself.
Sounds dumb saying it outloud but I pushed myself at the grocery store and bringing bags upstairs. I guess I figure "encouraging" a little right now can't REALLY hurt? LOL
My crazy aunt and cousin are supposedly in town tomorrow but they contacted my mom, not me, so who knows what's going on. I haven't seen them since mid October 2012 when I left my ex (lived in their state then). So, they apparently want to meet my toddler? I dunno, not sure why I didn't get a facebook message or something to that effect! Guess my mom can play coordinator.

Adjusting from 1 kid to two has actually gone smoother so far than I thought it would. But last night the baby blues really set in. I've just been crying randomly all day. I can't wait for the hormones to level out.
