Symptoms: I actually feel really good right now. I started doing some prenatal yoga, so I think that's helping with my aches and pains in my hips.
Rants/Raves/Questions: We finally got the big girls' room done so now we are working on the office which is getting turned into the play room. Once that's done, I can finally start working on the baby's room.
GTKY: As summer draws to a close (at least where I live!), any fun things/vacations/etc. left on your agenda before Fall? The big girls just started school today, so not much planned now until fall fun starts. They both dance in the Nutcracker so after auditions, they have rehearsal every Saturday until the show, so that pretty much sucks up our lives.
Week/Team/Fruit: 22w3d/pink/Corn or grapefruit Appointments this week?n Heading back to acupuncture on Saturday Symptoms: Feeling baby kick a lot at night which is awesome. Overall I'm feeling pretty good. Rants/Raves/Questions: Not being able to take a lot of my previous medications sucks. I knew what worked for an upset stomach or diarrhea and I can't take either of them while pregnant. Last night was awful, I was up all night with the worst diarrhea.
GTKY: As summer draws to a close (at least where I live!), any fun things/vacations/etc. left on your agenda before Fall? My summer ended last week, I'd like to hit up the coast one weekend before summer is officially over but it's DH's busy season so we probably won't be able to.

Week/Team/Fruit: 25/purple/baseball gloves or napa cabbage
Appointments this week? None - had a growth scan on Thursday and babies are looking great! 1.8 lbs each.
Symptoms: My physical abilities have started to really decline this week. H and I painted our dining room on Saturday and every bone in my body is sore from all the bending, stretching. Also, my feet are generally very painful and swollen most days. Boo.
Rants/Raves/Questions: The temps are finally not in the 90's this week. I am excited to do more walking outside.
GTKY: As summer draws to a close (at least where I live!), any fun things/vacations/etc. left on your agenda before Fall? We have a labor day wedding which I'm excited for. I love weddings!

@kc295905, guess you'll have to put that wine in the cabinet and celebrate in December! I had some friends bring over a really nice bottle of Rose earlier this summer (before we were fully out with the pregnancy), and I can't wait to drink that post-delivery. Is it wrong to drink rose in winter? I'm not sure.
mrsp121308, ugh, the to-do lists are never ending! But your big girl room looks so cute! We painted our dining room and up next is the baby room. And that dresser, which I've said I would paint for months now!
@cahistoryteacher, sorry about your upset stomach. Hope it gets better.
Symptoms: Fatigue, heartburn, sore feet and constipation... I'm fearing that my amazing streak of 2nd tri luck/freedom from symptoms is coming to an end
Rants/Raves/Questions: I painted the white curtains in the nursery with gold sparkly dots and they turned out super cute! I still need to buy the curtain liner and touch up the dots, but I'm pretty excited about them.
Has anyone purchased a fiber supplement to help them out? I don't think laxatives are going to be the answer here since I need things to simply flow smoothly for the long haul (not a one-time fix)...
GTKY: We are camping next weekend in our favorite location up north. The campground is awesome, situated between two lakes, and only a 20 minute drive to two of our absolutely favorite towns in our state. Looking forward to relaxing, hopefully kayaking, beaching and eating
@kc295905, I would be pretty pissed if that happened to me. I need the wine, not my H!!
mrsp121308, ahh yoga! I need to add some of that in during the coming weeks for sure. Glad it's helping you!
requiressnacks, YES to lower temps!!! I'm so excited for this week. And glad to hear babies are measuring on track.

Week/Team/Fruit: 23/mango/ pink
Appointments this week? nope, next week
Symptoms: starting to get stiff when i get up after standing too long, and the RLP is back. Baby girl is moving around more, which is reassuring.
Rants/Raves/Questions: nope
GTKY: As summer draws to a close (at least where I live!), any fun things/vacations/etc. left on your agenda before Fall? I wish that beeyoch would get up outta here already!!! At least it's gonna be in the 80s for the first part of this week before heading back to the 90s...we're heading to Disney World in just over 3 weeks and then when we come back, haunting season starts (DH and I work at a local haunted house all Oct)
@kc295905, I hear you on missing wine! I've missed going wine tasting this summer. We did buy a bottle on our babymoon for me to have once the twins arrive.
mrsp121308, I love the photos of the big girls room you posted the other day. It looks great!
@cahistoryteacher, I hope your stomach starts to feel better soon.
Winnifred, You should post pictures of the curtains, they sound cute.
tbonequeen13, I used to work a haunted house, it is so much fun! Enjoy Disney
Week/Team/Fruit: 24w6d/Purple/Eggplant
Appointments this week? Nothing for a few weeks
Symptoms: Heartburn is starting to get bad
Rants/Raves/Questions: Does anyone else have a soon to be grandmother overstepping their bounds? My mom is driving me crazy. First I found out last week that she told almost all of her friends and our relatives about our IF struggles, despite me repeatedly telling her she was not to tell anyone. Now she is driving me crazy about my baby shower to the point of me wanting to tell her to cancel it. She has decided she will be at the hospital when the twins are born (even asking to be in the room) and has started to invite people to come visit us in the hospital when the babies are born even though I've told her no visitors.
GTKY: As summer draws to a close (at least where I live!), any fun things/vacations/etc. left on your agenda before Fall? Nothing really left for us DH is having his wisdom teeth out right before Labor Day weekend so that weekend is out. I really hoping to get in one more trip to get lobster rolls though.

Becca , you need to be firm with your mom! No means no! We are absolutely not inviting anyone except immediate family to visit in the hospital. If my mom starting inviting her friends to the hospital, I would go ape shit crazy.
My MIL just keeps making comments to me about breastfeeding. I get it lady - you are a fan of breastfeeding.

I keep telling her no, and I plan on telling the nurses too for backup

I will never understand why some people don't listen! Hopefully you mom starts to "get it."
Also, Becca, stay firm with your mom. I let my mom guilt me into the delivery room both times previously and I never felt completely comfortable with it during labor. It definitely impacted my ability to labor how I wanted to and relax. Definitely use the nurses to kick her out.
Becca, I specifically asked the nurses during our hospital tour if they would limit visitors or kick people out if we wanted them to, and they said they do it ALL THE TIME. I'm not sure we'll need to keep people out, but I am sure that people will try to overstay their welcome.

Week/Team/Fruit? 22w1d, didn't look at the fruit ooppss,(looks over cahistoryteacher's shoulder) Oh a Grapefruit OF COURSE...Team BLUE
Appointments this week? Tomorrow at 2:10 EST. I am sure just a quick measurement of my tummy and listen for HB. I don't think we will get a sneak peak.
Symptoms? Well is symptom my child playing volleyball with my bladder and possibly urethra. I SWEAR its like he is playing the violin on it or something..drives me bonkers. Its usually when I am about to eat..like he is getting excited. No wonder I am gaining weight...this one is a hungry hippo. Gets excited when I am about to eat. My boobs exploded in size AGAIN! That thing that used to be flat..yeah my stomach..well it looks like I am hiding a beachball under my dress. Everyone says I look so small...I feel huge.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I guess just along the lines of the lil man practicing soccer in there. OH I really want fall to come already. I am looking at my Glucose test as my next milestone! I get there and 3 months to go. phew.
GTKY: Any fun things/vacation, etc left on the agenda before fall? Ummm..unfortunately not. I think that its going to be pretty low-key. We bought a boat this weekend so we are going out on the lake at night just riding around. DD loves it. I have a lot of plans for Fall though. So I am looking forward to its arrival. I also LOVE Christmas so I am ready to start decorating.
@kc295905 , Ugh my pain is on my right side. I feel your pain. Jeally of your vacay for Labor day. I will be in Orlando FL next week for training going to try and make it a vacay. I will be baby free! WHAT!?!
mrsp121308 , I am having the damnedest time finding a prenatal yoga near me that is not at 10 am on a Tuesday. I hope I find one soon.
@cahistoryteacher , BAH the diarrhea..I am sorry that is not any fun. I hope it gets better quickly!
requiressnacks , AND what are we wearing...please do send pictures..lol.
Winnifred , and those two favorite cities would be?? I am so happy that your drapes came out awesome!! I use Colace and Metamucil.
tbonequeen13 , Do you actually dress up and participate?? Or are you just going to do some behind the scenes things this year? That's really cool!
Becca , OK I totally suck! I didn't not realize that you are having twins! YEAH! Oh and maybe you can have the nurse work with you to say only you, DH and another person (not her) will be in the room?
Post by WineNChocolate on Aug 22, 2016 13:24:49 GMT -5
requiressnacks , omg..I just sounded like the biggest twat! I meant that we don't have anything really planned, big. I live on a lake so everyone has a boat..I didn't think of it like a big deal. I am totally not redeeming myself from that one...I will just go over here and sit on my boat drinking pierre and grapefruit with my pet tiger. Pfft

WineNChocolate, I am in charge of costumes for the haunt- I help dress the actors. I also do whatever else they need- sometimes I act in the house, sometimes I work outside as a non-scare staff. This year I will do like I did when I was pregnant with DD and only work as non-scare staff (taking tickets, selling tickets, directing guests on where to go, etc) because I am not willing to take the risks of an actor while pregnant (there's a high chance of getting hit/punched).
@cahistoryteacher sorry about the tummy issues can you manage any of it through diet?
Becca sorry your mom is being overbearing. I think it just depends on the relationship with your mom. My mom can be a little intense but I have asked her to be at the birth because I know how happy it will make her. I will definitely be very clear about the ground rules though. If your mom is going to be attending your birth, yuo have to draw a line as to what is/is not OK (visitors, etc.) If she's not willing to respect that you need to be very firm with her until it comes across. This is your body and your time and your kids.
WineNChocolate most of the prenatal classes in my area are also during weekday daytimes. it's like, hello, some people work. have fun with your boat! and lay off the Xmas decor until November
Week/Team/Fruit: 22/pink/ear of corn
Appointments this week? nothing til mid-Sept
Symptoms: aside from a little foot/ankle swelling, feeling pretty great. no RLP or anything like that. I still don't feel the kid much due to anterior placenta but I've stopped worrying about it.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I am so sick of being marketed to as a pregnant person. I feel like I spend a fair amount of time figuring out which stuff I actually need and which stuff is completely unnecessary (which honestly seems like most of it). Like I cannot figure out for the life of me what a pack n play is for, even though all these things say it is a "must have".
GTKY: As summer draws to a close (at least where I live!), any fun things/vacations/etc. left on your agenda before Fall? yep, we are going on vacation in a few weeks, one last flight out of town before I turn into a complete whale.
Post by lastnamewithheld on Aug 22, 2016 15:21:46 GMT -5
Week/Team/Fruit: 23!!!/BLUE/Grapefruit, barbie, or a chinchilla (LOL)
Appointments this week? nope.
Symptoms: heartburn! I thought I was dying all weekend but then I ate two tums and boom, all better. So I guess heartburn is a thing I have now. Yippee!
Rants/Raves/Questions:
GTKY: As summer draws to a close (at least where I live!), any fun things/vacations/etc. left on your agenda before Fall? sounds like I'm going to hang out on WineNChocolate's boat! just kidding! H and I are planning on staying for a night in NYC to see Hamilton in less than 2 weeks (!!!!!) that's really it--nothing else major planned.
IVF+ICSI March 2016 (6R/5M/5F - 3 embryos on ice) 4/7/16: first ever BFP! EDD: 12/17/16 DS Arrived via C-Section 12/19/16! FET #1 June 2019 - 1 embryo didn't survive thaw & the one that did didn't stick around. BFN FET #2 September 2019 - last embryo didn't survive thaw.
emilie, my diet is already extremely managed from my Celiac so I'm not sure what set off my stomach last night, but it was a long night(not helped by the fact that the baby kept kicking me in the intestines). Luckily I got the ok to take my regular stuff I take that works like a charm(loperamide hcl, which I think is what is in Imodium) if I need it, so I will not suffer again! My doc also said that diarrhea is super common in pregnancy and that as long as there's no fever, cramps, or bleeding it's just something we have to deal with.
Symptoms: Achy back, which I blame on only being able to sleep on one position if I don't want to wake up gasping for breath.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Watching my dancing belly every night as I'm (finally) relaxing after dinner/clean up/etc. is my new favorite activity. She's almost always active then, and I love seeing the movements knowing it's a lil baby in there!
GTKY: As summer draws to a close (at least where I live!), any fun things/vacations/etc. left on your agenda before Fall? SCHOOL STARTS NEXT THURSDAY!!!!!!!! That is all I can think about!!!!!! H and I are going out to breakfast alone to celebrate after they leave for the day.
