Yesterday while preparing supper I was turned over the stove doing something paying little attention to my daughter. After noticing her silence (because we all know that's louder than noise), I turned around to find her starfished flat on her belly on the floor with her face in a pile of white sugar that fell off the counter. She looked up at me with sugar from her forehead, to nose, to mouth like she needed it to survive, with a big smile on her face, and dove back in.
Also, I have come to realize DD is now the age DS was when I found out I was pregnant with her. Woah! (My uterus is currently unoccupied now, however)
DH and I have been at each others throats for the last week for no real reason and Im sooooo tired of it. He is up in DC for the next couple of days for work and Im so happy to have some peace and quiet -ffwc? Im hoping a little space will help us to reset

Happy Wednesday!
Thank you for the mid morning laugh!! I can only imagine DD doing this with the dog right next to her doing the same thing!
I was all set on ordering a burrito for lunch today, when it turned out to be a co-worker's bday and he wants deli. Cool with me, but I'm starving and he says he's not hungry yet. Damn it, I hate waiting on others to eat.
W got his foot stuck in his crib slats pretty bad last night...poor guy was so upset and his foot was all red. And like a good mom, I was all "ugh just go to sleep and stop crying" before I realized what was going on.
I have the same thought any time that happens to LO, too. Then I feel bad.
I'm exhausted LO has a stuffy nose so he woke up a bunch of times, he went back to sleep but it was still so disruptive. LO is at daycare and I went to work to try get stuff ready but just got frustrated and came home.
michyme123, I love doing escape rooms! Hope you have fun.
I am going to a voluntary workshop this week on features of our online gradebook. I could actually teach the workshop and have actually had to email the gradebook company because I found some bugs, but I have actually learned a couple new things. Also it's supposed to be 5 hours a day, but he's letting us go after 3, saying we can do the other two for homework. Score!

Not there yet, but it is coming in September. I have been reflecting about how different my mindset was back then; it is hard to remember. This LO is still relatively easy but I still think if I had him first I might not have been ready for a second so soon.

I just spent 20 minutes power cleaning and organizing my desk. I can see actual desk now, as opposed to piles upon piles and post-its on post-its. It has been WAY too long since I did that, and I feel about 200% more calm now, even though the actual amount of work to do has not changed.
Omg a post about how you shouldn't have kids if you plan to "just throw them in daycare" just popped up on my FB feed. And in the comments tons of people talked about how if you wanted to badly enough you could stay home just by not buying Gucci clothes... It took all of my inner strength to unfollow rather than engage. What a fucking asshat.

My desk needs this desperately. It sounds just like what your desk was. I am definitely the queen of the post-its. I bought a planner for this year but still post-its everywhere.
Just booked a 2 night hotel stay near starved rock for Labor Day weekend!! We were going to go this weekend, but it would have only been for 1 night. DH would rather have 2. That means he's taking 2 FULL days off work!!!! I cannot wait!

I honestly don't think i'd function at work without post-its. As it is, I still have at least 9 around that I can see (though some on paperwork). They're just more organized now
LO and I came home to have our afternoon snack. She chose ritz bits which of course means I'm sitting here eating the box with her. Ughh these things will be my downfall.
LO freaked out this morning when Mom Tiger sneezed on Daniel Tiger. It was kind of funny, but she was definitely scared!

Yeah I'll just throw out all my Gucci clothes and stay home with my kid...oh wait, everything I own is from Target and I still have to work to make ends meet!
Just stopping in to say hi, because I feel like it's been days. I am STILL sick with this horrible virus and E has it too. Poor baby has been spiking really high fevers, up to 105.3°. The doctor ruled out strep throat and said all I can really do is watch him closely and try to manage his temp with Tylenol and Motrin. It's been a week now and I'm so ready to be done with sickness. Hopefully things will turn around soon.

mirage86 I hope you both feel better soon! I haven't been around much here. Things this summer have been so busy with all the kids at home! We found out O has a mosquito allergy. I didn't even know that was a thing. There are about a million mosquitos where we live so it sucks. The good news is that he should outgrow it, or at least the severity of the reactions. Last week his ankle swelled to the size of an apple. Hoping to catch up on things here.
Home after day 2 of preservice week. As always, my teaching schedule still is up in the air so I can't start writing in my plan book. My only hope for this week had been to plan a few weeks ahead and write it down. Tomorrow I go to my SpEd school and then I have 3 day weekends all year!!
H's office is about 3 miles from one of my schools so we went out for lunch together today. It was so nice and made me wish I worked in the corporate world so lunch break was a real thing.

H and I always talk about how nice it would be to have a real lunch break. I was talking to a friend last year about how I had no time to exercise and she said to do it on my lunch break. Ha.
