I've been thinking this on a daily basis when I drop off & pick up DS. There's soooo many parents (mostly moms) chasing toddlers or pushing strollers. It gives me oodles of joy to not be like them.
I have enjoyed all of the above perks within the past week.
We tried a new local restaurant tonight. MH commented that it was a bit pricy. I pointed out it was not much more than a similar place we frequented before we moved, that eating out has just gotten pricier since LO began needing his own meal. Thank goodness we only have one kid when we are being too lazy to cook.
I definitely thought several times this week that starting school is easier with one. Not just financially. An amazing number of toddlers bolted for traffic during drop-off etc. Plus the younger ones upset that they can't do the same activity. And just the amount of attention we can give DS to tell us everything about his milestone. I'm so overwhelmed already.

Only one kid to keep happy each day. Whining from just one kid. If I had another, I'd probably rip my hair out. I can barely handle it when ds goes through his defiant bouts.
My son has started climbing in his car seat by himself. I'm glad I no longer have to deal with the struggle of getting a squirmy toddler into a car seat.
Omg, yes. The day she learned how to climb into her car seat ranks as one of the best days ever.
I was at a friends house a few weeks ago. She has 3 u 2.5 (a 2 year old and 6 month old twins). She told me she feels sad that she virtually missed the twins' baby hood because she feels pulled very thin between her 3 kids and I felt bad for her. That's something I don't have to think about.
