Oh and my sister told me today that it's ironic that I'm on a parenting forum because I'm on my phone not parenting. We left for a minute so I wouldn't flip out on her. That was how I started my day It's left a bad taste in my mouth all day.
4 sis
I love you so much for this!! I responded that I was with him 14 hours a day and she replied with "that's called parenting". I'm going to remember this gif whenever she comments again. Thank you

Yeah I'd be super annoyed by this too. You give so much of yourself. You are allowed breaks!!!

Well, she can ride that martyr train to misery by herself then lol

She doesn't have kids! She's been a nanny but every time she says "well I do x with B" it's always something super unsafe and not at all what they tell you to do so I always take her with a grain of salt. But this was just a low fucking blow. And the reason I'm on my phone more when they're around is because they're hanging with him and I'm trying not to jump in. But yeah apparently I'm neglecting my kid.
Bad string of storms heading right for us. Opened the front door, looked out and saw a bigass bolt of lightning off in the distance heading straight down.
Good weekend so far. Had book club this morning (we just finished Secret Life of Bees), and took A to the beach this afternoon.
She has been fighting naps, so we just let her stay up from 10:30am until 4pm...then she fell asleep in the car before we even pulled out of the parking lot to go home.
In other news, H and I started watching Stranger Things tonight...so good!
I stayed up too late last night. After we got back from the festival I decided to clean, then craft, then chill. Going to bed should have been higher in the list. I have to make a peach cobbler for the shower today and also get more schoolwork done.
So sleepy this morning. M was up screaming for close to an hour around 3 this morning not sure what was going on, I was wondering if it started as a night terror (he didn't open his eyes for probably half hour). DH was finally able to get him to settle and back to sleep. Then it was my day to get up with him, so I'm jealous that DH gets to sleep. M is happy as a clam this morning though! Apparently it didn't effect him. Ha! He has been practicing going up and down the stairs all morning.

ampaints it actually turned out to be fun. The wives of my BFs colleagues speak english well so we chatted and drank some bubbles. The kids even did well considering we were somewhere new. This morning is another story - DD got into some cake at 10 pm last night and had a belly ache all night/this morning.
Ava had a temp yesterday but we didn't realize it until right before bed. I feel mom guilt because she was wanting to nurse outside of her normal times and I didn't let her. I would have if I had known she wasn't feeling well she slept ok last night, just up twice and put herself back for one within a min and easily went back down for the other when I went in to comfort. Her temp is down this morning so hopefully she is on the mend.

redandblue, that sounds like a night terror. I'm sorry. I'm unfortunately a veteran in dealing with these. I take him into a well lit room and wake him up. It's the only thing to make the thrashing and screaming stop
Last day of having all three at home all day! DS1 starts K tomorrow! DS2 starts preschool next week.
Today our plan is to get the kids dressed up in their wedding clothes again, and take them to the park to the spots we got wedding party photos done. They were accessible and great spots, so hopefully we can get nice pictures with both of them together. Then onward to the beach!

+1 to night terror. Sorry redandblue what a crappy way to wake up!

DD let me sleep in until 830, heyyyyy! High five girlfriend! DH is off today (he's working crazy hours for the next few weeks to finish a project) so today we're tackling our to do list that's like 8 miles long. Mainly shopping for furniture and yard work...Fun? Tonight we're staying in and having game/movie night with the kiddos. Should be a nice day

packmomma, that comment would really annoy me as well. Actually, annoy is a major understatement. It would make me ragey and probably use some bad language. Uncalled for. You handled it with grace and restraint.
Re: grocery shopping, if you have access to a CSA, I definitely recommend it. You have to put out $ for a season up front, and you don't get to choose your produce, but if you're flexible and like most fruits and veggies, it can be a great deal. Ours works out to $24/ week for more produce than I can use. Since this is primarily what we eat, it cuts back our grocery bill significantly.
Hope the birthday party goes well, @janetheconquerer!
Poppy has been crawling around saying "bow wow wow," all morning. (She learned it from the moo baa la la la Sandra Boynton book.) I told her I think she's confused— she's a Poppy not a puppy. :-) It's super cute.
