I'm waiting for my flight home and am completely exhausted. This seems like a silly question, but when does second trimester start? I've read different things and I'm seriously counting down the days until I can get a massage
+1. I count 2nd tri starting at 14 weeks and 3rd starting at 28.
My RE's office said it was at the end of 12 weeks. I only know this bc I take a bunch of meds through first tri and I go off when I move to 13 weeks. Sounds like there is some variance.
ugaqueencity let me know what your doctor says bc I am patiently waiting as well. FWIW, the place I go to for my massages said they don't do them for the first 12 weeks.
Checking in for the first time this weekend because we had company. Our little duplex was all full with 3 kids 2 and under running/crawling everywhere but it was such fun chaos. DS has no first cousins yet but seeing him play with his second cousins this weekend was so sweet. It makes me very excited for him to be a big brother.
Also, I went to a bridal shower yesterday and found out another friend is pregnant! We both turned down wine, looked at each other, then went for a chat in the kitchen and shared the news. She's due 3 weeks after me, with the same EDD I had with DS!
Trying to catch up here now. Just having a somewhat lazy weekend at home for a change. We are working on refinishing a thrifted dining table and reupholstering the chairs we got with it. We wont get to any of the fun stuff this weekend but hopefully get most of the messy stuff out of the way. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

This is really what I was hoping for. I have a Dr's appointment tomorrow so I'll double check, but I can't really see a massage causing any trouble, right?
I'm scheduled for a massage on Friday and I'll be 13w/6d. I didn't even ask my OB if it was okay but I'll be curious to hear what yours says.

It's usually the massage places that have policies on them. There's also limited evidence one way or the other that they could cause issues, but since miscarriages happen most frequently in the first tri, they don't want to risk any correlation between them if it was to happen.
Ugh, just got back from a wedding this weekend. Highlights, got to spend a night in a hotel, which we never get to do, and the wedding was really nice.
However, it was a party, and they had PLENTY of beer, but nothing else. The water ran out really early. We stayed until 10:30, but had a 40 min drive back to the hotel, because the wedding was in a really small town. We are not used to staying up that late anymore. And it was humid as crap.
It was a 3 hour drive home, and even though I slept through most of that, I am exhausted. We have done way to much running around this week, and I'm afraid the next couple of weekends are going to be about the same.

I survived the weekend! Solo parenting for 3 entire days after not parenting at all for 4 is some tough shit.
I'm feeling kind of crampy. I'm almost positive it's my ute stretching, but I only got to relax with the heathen for about 2 hours total today. I am so excited to plop my butt on the couch with a glass of alcohol removed wine (brand is Fre for those who are interested) and watch PLL and the Mindy Project.

I'll be solo parenting until Friday afternoon starting tomorrow. I'm both excited and sad about it. The excitement mostly comes from the fact that I'll be able to go to sleep right after I get DD down each night if I really want to!
Regarding massage- try to find someone who has trained in prenatal massage if you can. Not only does it feel amazing but they learn special techniques and safety things that are pregnancy specific. My dad is a trained massage therapist and I had a couple great massages while I was pregnant with DS last time! I live closer to my parents this time around so I think I'll be taking advantage of that haha.

This, this is the silver lining lol even if I'm just laying in bed binge watching my shows.
