Have you seen it? If not are you planning to? I read an article about how this was a horrible insult to mom's because it's telling them that if they just let loose everything will miraculously fall into place and life will be perfect. It said a lot more and when I'm not mobile I'll post the link. What do you think? I liked it and thought it was an awesome girls night out movie.
I loved it and I hate articles like that. Movies are movies - of course they're not real. But I think the general lesson of not taking everything so seriously in parenting was a good one.
I liked it, and had a similar take as you, Bluedaisy it's a good girls's night movie. I really wasn't going into the movie expecting to come out with a major life revelation or the answer to all parenting dilemmas, I just wanted a few laughs, which I got. In general, it kind of drives me crazy when people try to make movies more than they are - like blaming Disney for ruining little girls' sense of self, or assuming that any mom watching Bad Moms is going to take away that they need to start partying more in order to be a good mom. Whatever happened to movies just being a two hour-ish escape from the everyday?
I watched it. I didn't think it was hilarious, but exceeded my expectations.
As for the article, it's meant to be a lighthearted comedy. I also saw the "lesson" as cut yourself a break and re-examine your priorities, not to just let loose. And things actually fell apart for her when she did that anyway, so the article is total bullshit.
This right here! Pretty much nothing fell in to place, it all went to shit. Clearly there is a balance to be had between "perfect mom" and "party mom". I thought it was funny and us moms that went had a great time getting out of the house to watch a movie.

I enjoyed it but didn't have a lot of expectations going into it (literally had just seen the preview for it the day my friend & I went-we don't have TV other than netflix/hulu/amazon prime). It wasn't nearly as raunchy as I was expecting based off the previews and I did laugh quite a bit. (Guess you could say I'm a bit of a "prude" since I usually refuse to watch an R rated movie due to language these days)
