@wineandcupcakes, Mine gets measured every 4 weeks as part of my growth scans. They do a regular ultrasound for the growth scan and a transvaginal for the cervix. Mine has never been an issue, so I never thought to ask for anything more frequent. Once I hit 28 weeks, they are going to start seeing me every 2 weeks and I assume this will be part of it.
@wineandcupcakes , Mine was measured every 2-3 weeks between 16 and 28-ish weeks and they've stopped checking at all. Mine grew over time from like 3.5-5-ish, so they're really not worried about it. My MFM was the one that decided how often they wanted the checks done, but I mostly saw the OB for checks.
Edit: By the way, an MFM is an OB with specialization. My town has 1 full-time MFM, 1 OB working to be certified as an MFM (working with the full-time one) and one MFM that splits his time between here and another town, so anyone seeing an MFM here still goes to the OB for more regular care.

Mine was checked at every appointment. Via vag cam. It started getting short (3ish) the short side of normal in 2nd tri. And unfortunatly fore it kept getting shorted. I was admitted to the hospital at 26ish weeks (amazing how things can get blury as time goes on) it was 2.5. And i was there for 2.5 weeks and eventually got a pessary placed to help keep the cervix stable. And then was sent home on modified bed rest until the end. I delivered at 35.5 thanks to the ring being placed.
I say keep making sure they check it at your appointments. And take it maybe a bit easier with lifting things and what not. It seems fine now, but it never hurts to be a bit more cateful. Good luck!

@wineandcupcakes mine is currently measured monthly which is how often I get an ultrasound. My OB made it sound like it would continue to be monthly for now but more frequently the farther along I get. Basically they'll check any time I get an ultrasound.
My OB said they want cervical length between 3-4. At 20w I measured at a 5 - OB said I was an overachiever so mine was thicker then the norm.
I think my 20w a/s was the first time they measured mine and I was only at 2cm, so nearly 4 sounds great to me (3-4 was also what I was told was the goal). They set an appointment for 2w later to check again but I lost my mucus plug at 21w and went in and had thinned completely. A rescue cerclage got me back to about 1.5cm, I had a pessary put in and was on bedrest with weekly checks until my water broke at 26w. Then hospital bedrest until I delivered at 28 weeks.
I say go ahead and talk it through with them, see what they say (and what your insurance will cover). Taking it easy certainly can't hurt. But if you don't see any negative change at this next one try to relax.
I'm currently at 34 weeks and change with twins. I've been having appointments every two weeks for most of the pregnancy. Until 24 weeks, they would do a transvaginal ultrasound to check my cervix at each appointment, and a growth scan (externally) every 4 weeks. They stopped doing the internal cervical checks at about 24 weeks, saying that the current research doesn't support such frequent checks past that point. I imagine there's some variance across doctors, but my practice has been fantastic so far and I have no reason to doubt their recommendation. Hope that helps!
ETA: The checks are going to resume this week because I'm getting close to delivery, so I guess my practice recommends a "break" between 24 and 34 weeks rather than a complete cessation of the checks.
@wineandcupcakes Yours sounds just fine so far!! Mine started out short-ish at 4cm around 16 weeks. I had it checked every four weeks at my growth scans (or more often if I was in there for any reason - I took a fall, I had spotting). At 20 weeks, it was 5ish. At 24 weeks it was 6ish. At 28 weeks it was 6.7cm. They said they won't check it anymore from that point on. It can also look better each time so try to remember that when you're feeling nervous. Your concern was my biggest concern also.
