M currently only drinks milk and water, and the occasional sip of unsweetened tea when she steals her Mimi's cup.
DC asked me the other day if she could have grape juice. I said to please stick with water.
I get the whole "stay away from unnecessary sugar," buuuuuut... just curious if/when you'll break down and introduce a beverage beyond water and milk. If you have already introduced juice, is there a brand you suggest? One that is fanceh and natural and not loaded with sugar and all that jazz?
Don't think I ever will break down. But, I'm probably the crunchiest of all y'all. Haha! Personally, I only drink water. That's it. Coffee and alcohol, duh, but for thirst? Water. Same for MH. She drinks coconut milk and water just fine, and I can't figure out a good reason to offer juice. Maybe if she started refusing to drink either of those and not hydrating? I usually drop the crunchiness in favor of survival. Haha.
But, to offer a suggestion, I'd just hit up the organic/natural aisle. Anything in there is going to be better than Ocean Spray or whatever. If you shop at Giant, Nature's Promise is good and super affordable stuff.
malvo, my kids get juice at DC. I'm not sure you can call it juice but that's what's on the menu. I ask that it be watered down but I doubt they do it. At home we give them the refrigerated apple juice (Simply apple) or cranberry. I do water down their juice at home so it's 75% water. They get sweet tea the same way. It's just enough juice or tea to make themoney think they are drinking juice like daddy. We still drink more milk than anything.
We tried giving A some watered down apple juice when she was constipated about a month ago. She was not impressed. We haven't given her any since. I don't see a need like PP mentioned.
She likes water and milk, so we're good with that for right now.
Well, I'm glad most of us are on the same page. I haven't felt a need to introduce juice either. But DC asked and I was curious where everyone else stood. She drinks her water and milk like a champ, and we'll stick with that until it no longer works!
E drinks juice all the time. Every morning she steals my oj. We buy juice boxes for her. We push milk and water 1st but during the summer she wouldn't really drink them when really hot but would the juice.
No matter how much we water the juices down, Wayne's rear can't handle it. So we do water, he has disliked milk for a few months because he got sick on it and sour milk does not taste good. So we give cheese, whole milk yogurt and other options full of dairy.

My nephew (3 years old) can't have a lot of juice either because he ends up with gigantic poopsplosions. M loves her milk! Thank goodness. She refuses to try cheese.

We do juice *sometimes* but it's watered down organic apple or pear. I don't drink juice or pop and have strong feels about him not drinking it either. We do let him drink coconut water though. He loveeeees that
P refuses to drink water. Still. So he gets coconut milk at home and at school. He gets watered down juice at restaurants and at my MILs (idk why but her solution to Ps crankiness is always more liquids and i cant have him drinking unlimited amounts of milk).
As for juice at school, id ask for water, too. Im not crunchy about it, but i dont want P to learn juice is expected. Its a treat and he can have it on occasion.
We do milk and water 90% of the time because Mh and I only drink water and coffee. Haha. But when I do carry juice around to make sure that she hydrates, this is what I get. I've tasted it, it's barely juice. But K likes it once in a while.
No juice here either. Gma gives her ice tea when she is there (insert eye roll). But that's like once a month so I let it slide.
M steals unsweetened tea that her two grandmothers always carry around. But since that only happens on occasion and it's not much, we also let it slide.

WSS exactly. And the pedi told us we could do one cup of juice a day, but it's probably once a week or less.
