I don't know if I've ever been so happy to see a Friday.
Also, I had the most delicious mocktail last night at the client happy hour. Thank God for amazing waitstaff! (And thanks to all of you for reminding me that it would all turn out ok.)

Ugh so glad it's Friday. This week was incredibly slow. Here's a question:
WWA17D: so my sister on again off again dates this loser guy. I say loser guy because he doesn't have a job, he's a couch surfer, chain smoker, supposedly recovering alcoholic, high school drop out, and in general he's just dirty and trashy. His name happens to be the name that DH and I have wanted to use for a baby boy for years. I told DH I think that name is off the table. That I just can't keep it on the list while she is still dating him and if she's still dating him when baby is born I could definitely not use it because it would look like we were naming our kid after him. DH is pissed. He says that's not a good reason to suddenly not like a name. Thoughts? If you were in my shoes would you be able to keep that name?

Can you look past the association? If so, then I'd consider keeping it. If not, I would probably toss out the name

hpnegirl DH can but I can't. Especially not while they're actively dating. If boyfriend was gone for good then I'd have no problem with it. But who knows if he'll be in the picture in 7 months or even beyond.
I don't know how your DH could be on board with keeping that one mustloveerica, it is a very good reason to toss it.
Even if your sister ditched the boyfriend permanently it would probably be fairly awkward to start with and I personally, would REALLY have to love it.

DH is very unphased by things. He doesn't let other opinions or circumstances or anything change how he feels about things. He's kind of a free spirit I guess. He doesn't understand why if someone else happens to be named something why that means our kid can't be named that either.
I'm so excited for a long weekend! This day better hurry!
I'd probably keep the name around and see what happens closer to. No use you guys getting upset just yet. He very well could be out of the picture. But i'd also keep looking, you might find something you love even more and then the other name won't even be an issue!
If they're still together come April, could I use it? Ehhhhh, It would def be hard! I think it'd come down to how much either of us realllllly loves that name. It might start with a bad association, but after the first day of holding that baby, it'd have a brand new awesome association.
I had my first "I am going to puke," moment this morning but I managed to rein it in. I kind of feel like I'm in a competition with myself constantly. One side, three more weeks, no more nausea, I can make it! Otherside, last healthy pregancy was like 3-4 vomits so maybe I should aim for that?
I had to go to up to the 28th floor today. I'm still waiting on my stomach and elevator to catch up. They go way too fast to get up to these higher floors

I mean, functional he's right. But it's not exactly a random opinion by the public on a random someone. It's your opinion on someone 'close' to your family. I think your case for veto power is pretty strong on this one.

My boobs are large and in charge today. I feel a little skanky for the office. Oh well it's like the first time in my life I've had boobs larger than a B cup. I'm gonna own it.

Ahhhhhh mustloveerica, that is so frustrating!!! I strongly associate names with people, so I don't think I could do it unless sister ditched him. Any signs she might?
My boobs are huge too. My toddler keeps commenting on them. I have NO idea where he learned the word boob.

I mean they've broken up like 5 times in 2 years and somehow keep ending up back together. Soooooo....

Weirdo pregnancy brain has firmly settled in.
I haven't actually gotten sick yet but that's my goal. I don't get sick very often anyways so it's not a big stretch for me. I have thrown up twice in my adult life - both alcohol related.

I was totally thinking that my boobs haven't changed at all last night. I'm hoping to stay in my d cup as long as possible. DNW bigger boobs.

They don't always change in size but they change in other ways. Some women will stay the same cup all the way through pregnancy, just the style (like going from a demi to a full) will change until the milk comes in
Last time, I went from barely a C cup to a full DD by second tri and was falling out of a DDD by the time I delivered. I don't even want to talk about how big they were when my milk came in. I ended up as a not as happy barely a D when it was all said and done. Now, I've already filled my Ds so I suspect they'll keep growing.

Just wanted to share this timeline I found in my OB packet this morning. I think it answers some of the questions from the other day. (The only other visit is the 8 week dating US which is with an RN).
Also, you'll want a provider to do a urine dip periodically, especially later pregnancy. It's sometimes the only way they catch HELLP- not everyone has high blood pressure
PSA: Old Navy has 50% off jeans, including maternity jeans this weekend.
I was totally shopping at work earlier today and spent about $75 on tops. Not ready for maternity jeans. I lost 10/15 pounds before I got pregnant so I will hopefully fit in those jeans for a while and I plan on wearing a lot of leggings. I really only need 2 non work outfits a week because of my uniform so I'm not terribly worried.
Also - pink blush has 30% off with labor day and I did find some SUPER CUTE stuff on there.

Mine told me that they will take a sample every single time I am in there so if I feel like I have to go when I am waiting to let them know so I don't explode.
