We're headed to a cook-out later, so I think I'm going to squeeze in a nap before we have to leave. I also am sort of grossed out by meat right now, so I might have to make something I can eat beforehand.
DH totally redeemed himself this morning - I slept in until 9 which is later than I've slept in forever!! Now DD is napping and we're going to go shopping (pbk, land of nod, etc) once she's up! Really enjoying this extra day off. Esp since it means I only work 2 days this week (rather than my usual grueling 3 😉). NT ultrasound is Thursday - anyone else who did the early genetic testing bloodwork having an NT ultrasound too? I'm kind of unclear as to why my office does it this way but super happy to see little squish again!
H is working another double today so is gone 6am-midnight. DD and I are just hanging out until after her PM nap, when we'll head to my parents for dinner. My sister is home visiting from NYC for the weekend so it'll be nice to have everyone together for a change.
Our basement finishing project kicks off 1 week from today! I'm very excited, but H handles projects 110% differently than I do. Where I tend to stay calm and take any setbacks in stride, he gets frustrated and starts swearing very quickly, which annoys me to no end. So while I love house projects, I hate them b/c H isn't exactly a handyman (which is especially hard since I grew up watching my dad to everything himself). I just want to survive next week so we can enjoy our finished basement and extra 400 sq ft!
After DS wakes up this afternoon we're going to go to the spa in our town. It's fed by hot springs nearby and it's so nice. We're trying to keep today really low-key and relaxing to help DH stay calm ahead of his test tomorrow. FX he'll get enough sleep tonight and finally get it done!
I know I had today off from work, but I need another day off, lol.
Spent the whole day (almost) in the ER with my LO, who had a MASSIVE allergic reaction to a bug bite (I think). He got allergy meds and is perfectly, 100% fine now. That's enough scaring me for this lifetime, kid. Jaysus.
elsmom, I had my NT scan, and still waiting on blood results. But my doctor said she does both as genetic testing tells you if something is wrong at the chromosome level. But there could just be a defect that will not show up with bloodwork, but will on NT scan. That is why she still likes to do both.
cosmicav wow. That is scary. Did they give you a game plan if it happens again?! Like epi pen worthy?
They did not! I'm not sure why now that I think about it.... They gave us Benadryl and prednisone, but we are supposed to use it up through the week to make sure that the reaction is totally done with, I guess. He did have some more (less serious looking) hives this morning but the Benadryl took care of it. This is stressful lol
