Week/Team/Fruit: 24w4d/team PINK/eggplant
Appointments this week:: weekly scan today, hoping it's 1.3 or lower again!
Symptoms: some scattered muscle aches, mostly
Rants/Raves/Questions:: breech baby + sneezing = unpredictable bladder control
GTKY: Do you have any pet peeves? If so, tell us! mostly stupid minor things my DH does. Like leaving a glass on the counter about 6 inches from the sink. WHY?!?!?! He also has a horrible habit of putting something somewhere, saying "I'm just putting this here for now, I will get it later" and then never touching it again. Usually it's not even like it would have required THAT much more energy to either a) put it away where it actually goes, or b) figure out a spot for it. And he wonders why our house is cluttered!
On a funny related note, DS has totally picked up my desire to have things organized and put away. DH also has a bad habit of never fully closing doors or drawers, leaving them about 1 inch open. DS runs around and closes all of them!

Week/Team/Fruit: 27w3d/Pink/bunch of bananas
Appointments this week: I'm on the every 2 weeks schedule now, but this is my off week. Glucose test next Friday though.
Symptoms: Tons of pelvic pressure and pain following all the work around the house this weekend. But I'm loving how active she's been since I got to relax today, I think she's making up for her laziness all weekend. Also, I have the cough that will not go away. I sound like I smoke 8 packs a day. It's awful.
Rants/raves/questions: I want this damn cough to go away!! It's absolutely so annoying. We got the girls' playroom done this weekend. Next weekend DH is redoing our closet and putting in our new carpet and then it's on to the Baby's room. Nesting has already started so I cleaned and organized like a mad woman yesterday.
GTKY: Do you have any pet peeves? If so, tell us! They were discussing mispronunciation and misspelling of words on the radio and I realized how irritated I get by that. Things like saying "warsh" instead of "wash" or "ax" instead of "ask". Also the wrong uses of their, there, they're, to, two, too. I think it really makes people look stupid when it's done repeatedly (obviously typos happen) and it drives me insane.
Appointments this week: Ultrasound tomorrow. I'm excited to get to see her again and see how much she's grown!
Symptoms: She's been launching a full on attack on my bladder this morning. At one point she punched so hard I jumped and grunted while standing in the kids school office trying to talk to the school secretary.
Rants/Raves/Questions: H's brother was here Sunday night until this morning. He's coming back tomorrow night. Apparently H has known for a while that he was coming. I found out last Thursday when H's grandma asked me when he was coming. She assumed I'd know since he was sleeping on our couch. H was all "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you..."
Meanwhile, his brother is dating this psycho who has kept him on the phone pretty much the entire time he's been here. I'm not exaggerating. He's had to take pictures and send them to her constantly so she can see he's not visiting ex girlfriends and is where he says he is. When he's not talking to her, she's texting him, then calling if he takes more than a minute to respond. The worst part is, he's crazy and co-dependent enough that it doesn't irritate him at all. I'm pretty sure he likes it and it makes him feel wanted. FREAKING NUTS. Last night H came in to our room after I'd gone to bed to thank me for not being nuts, lol.
GTKY: Do you have any pet peeves? If so, tell us! -- I can't stand it when people knock things down/drop things/spill things, then leave them for someone else to clean up. I'm amazed at how often it happens. I see people do it in stores out in public all the time. My kids attempt it at home and mama doesn't put up with that BS.

mrsp121308, i had a bought of nesting this weekend too, lol.
Week/Team/Fruit: 25/pink/baseball glove(not a fruit, but this week's fruit was a Swede and I didnt know what the crap that was)
Appointments this week:nope..everything went great last week though
Symptoms: she was head down and fairly high last week but I swear it feels like she in punching/kicking me in the cervix at times
Rants/Raves/Questions: nope
GTKY: Do you have any pet peeves? If so, tell uswhen I go to look for something and DH has moved it and doesn't remember where he put it..he's big on "everything in it's place" but then he can't seem to remember where said place actually is....
Post by littlelion on Sept 6, 2016 10:53:16 GMT -5
Lucy, sounds like a match made in heaven (your BIL)
tbonequeen13, LOL at your pet peeve. I used to think of safe places for important papers or $ and then next time I needed it, I'd forgotten where this safe place was. I used to tell my mom that it's easier to leave my room a mess since I can see where everything was.
Appointments this week: Repeat glucose tolerance test on Thursday
Symptoms: Congestion and insomnia have come back. Boo.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I think I've started nesting. We got 2 cribs this weekend from a friend (yay, free!) and started refinishing a dresser. I just think I overestimated my abilities at 27 weeks pregnant with twins. Priming the dresser felt like running a marathon.
GTKY: Do you have any pet peeves? If so, tell us!
I have so many! - People who get in the express checkout line with a bazillion items. There is a reason it says 12 items or less! - The wrong uses of "Their, They're and There," although I'm sure I've been guilty of it at one time or another. - People who are always late. It drives me batty.

fikafairy67, I'm so guilty of saying I'll come back for something and then I never do. (runs and hides!) mrsp121308, +1 to nesting! I want everything in order, ASAP. Lucy, hell to the no to unexpected houseguests. You are a nicer person than me.

If there were any chance of this happening again, I'd say no as well. His brother hasn't been up here since DS was a baby -- s almost 10 years. I doubt he'll be back again for years. It's just not a trip he's able to make very often.

requiressnacks, as long as it's not in my house, you're good
+1 to the grammar problems! It drives me crazy, especially on facebook... especially when the person is trying to make a statement about something. I tend to unfollow people who repeatedly do that!

requiressnacks, that was me this weekend. I WAY overestimated my abilities to do physical work right now and I'm only carrying one baby! Kudos to you for even attempting major work.

Week/Team/Fruit: 24w2d/BLUE/Eggplant
Appointment this week: Negative...not till 23rd whomp whomp
Symptoms: Oh nothing too exciting the norm! Constipation, gas, constant kicking...am I the only one who's lil one will not stop moving. MY goodness you would think he is in there and he can't get his pillow (my bladder) fluffed enough. OHHHHHHH requiressnacks, I totally thought of you when I got off the plane and my feet and ankles looked like Michelin man legs...was not a fun experience.
Rants/Raves/Questions: We are getting there ladies...I just realized that I am 6 months which means 3 months to go HOLY MOLY. My weight...I am struggling cause I can't seem to put a cork in this damn thing I call a mouth. I am not doing so hot. I have told myself that I have to take a walk now everyday...along with my workouts 2-3 times a week. I am going to balloon here soon like I did with DD.
Do you have any pet peeves? First thing that comes to mind is women in toe sandal where their toes hang off the sandal...cause they couldn't just buy the next size up?!? MY DH and those F'ing clothes of his...DEAR JESUS, hang your ish!! Oh and my hubs will work outside and do a rinse off before bed and ask me to snuggle and his under arm still smells like ass, its probably my hormonal nose...but goodness I need you to use the scrubby sponge and really get in there for all our sakes. There will be no frisky time if I am passed out from your funk.
fikafairy67, MY DD does this too...everything has to be in its place. I say can you put that back and she does. Its the only thing keeping me from murdering DH right now. All his lil ticks are driving me up a wall.
mrsp121308, **slinks away and uploads spell check to phone** OH man I am bad at things like that when its on boards or TEXT. I apologize in advance.
Lucy, boo on the clingy ass possible SIL lol. On the people not picking shit up...lets talk about that..I was at IKEA on Saturday watched a grown man throw something at a daughter (I assume) and the mom was with her. The mom looked at it on the floor and so did the daughter and they stepped over it and walked away. I walked over with my pregger belly and stroller bent down (squatted) and picked it up (a stuffed animal from Ikea kids section) and placed it in the bin that they come from with the look of die all humans at the people. They tried not to catch my glance. I DON'T get it...or people bump something over look around like "Who could that be" and walk away.
tbonequeen13, OUCH... the cervix kick is probably right up there with the rib kick my DD used to do to me. She actually made me sit down a couple times to breath through it.
requiressnacks, Oh man if your dying with twins refinishing...I am destined to fail! LOL. So are you having to do two glucose cause of you having twins? Or did you fail or get an inconclusive? Sorry if I missed that. I thought about you when we were building DDs toddler bed..I was like man what if you had to do this with TWO! I have you in my prayer book come 20-28 months.

WineNChocolate, welcome to the cankle club! Isn't it SO LOVELY?! Haha. I actually wore jeans yesterday and it was so nice to actually hide them for a change. Cmon fall weather!
Re: GT test. They had me do an early one (18 weeks I think) because of twins. I passed that one, but now I just have to do the regular one that everyone does. I'm hoping since I passed my first that I'll pass this one too. If they take ice cream away from me I might just die!
requiressnacks, that was me this weekend. I WAY overestimated my abilities to do physical work right now and I'm only carrying one baby! Kudos to you for even attempting major work.
Yeah, it's so hard! My stamina isn't what it used to be. And all that lifting and bending doesn't help my pelvis at all. Oh well, I think I'm done with the big stuff for a while. Time to step up DH!
Week/Team/Fruit: 26/Green/Scallion……however, next weeks is a cauliflower. How do you even compare the 2?!?!?
Appointments this week: None – Glucose next Thursday!
Symptoms: None other than general achiness, I seem to get really stiff after I sit or lay down for a long time. Baby is VERY active… I feel like it must just be sitting on my bladder bc sometimes the punchs/kicks are actually painful on my bladder! (Atleast what I am assuming is my bladder) I can’t imagine how much worse it’ll be in 10 weeks from now.
Rants/Raves/Questions: G (15 months) just started walking last week freely and she’s practically running now… we are so damn proud of her. She’s still mainly in 12 month clothes, but does fit into some 18 month. I have an adorable video that I’d love to share if I could ever figure out how to upload a video on here!
GTKY: Do you have any pet peeves? If so, tell us! Oh man… do I ever…. Mainly misspellings, someone I talk to frequently says “are” instead of “our” which drives me crazzzzzzzzy. Such as “come on over to are house”…….. ugh. Gulping while drinking something (for some reason I just noticed that DH drinks VERY loudly), breathing loudly, chewing with your mouth open, clipping finger nails, the list just goes on and on… lol.
fikafairy67 – Hope the scan went well!! mrsp121308 – Sending you get well vibes! Lucy – OMG – she sounds like a nut job! requiressnacks – FREE CRIBS??? That is AWESOME. Have you heard of chalk paint? I actually just picked up some chalk spray paint this weekend to re-finish a mirror that we have. Apparently you can paint/spray that shit over any kind of wood then just seal it and it’s easy-peasy!!
Becca, my wedding ring gets tight at night, so I've been taking it off... so far it's been okay during the day, but around 30 weeks I had to take it off with G and replace it with a cheapo one so I didn't feel weird. I remember the feeling after I had her of putting on my real wedding ring again!!!!
Week/Team/Fruit:23w/Pink/Not sure what fruit, but my app says Puffin for animal.
Appointments this week: Nothing this week.
Symptoms: More bathroom trips at night. I was freaking out this morning because I swore I got up twice last night, but there was only evidence of one trip in the bathroom(I only flush at night if it's #2 so I don't wake dh). Turns out dh got up in the middle of the night to pee too. I was seriously concerned I dream peed or something for a minute.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I am so happy I started up my acupuncture again. Between my hip and my back acting up she helping a lot to keep the aches and pains under control.
GTKY: Do you have any pet peeves? If so, tell us! Too many sometimes. Working with 12 year olds gives me many, mostly directed at their parents. Lately my big one has been people(and students) who don't grasp what I call elevator etiquette. It is so hard to let people out of the elevator/room/bathroom stall before you start going in? The answer is no. No it is not.
Post by WineNChocolate on Sept 7, 2016 6:21:27 GMT -5
Becca, you know my pregnancy brain...IT LITERALLY took me 5 mins to grasp that "purple" is b/g twins. lol..man. I do believe that all lil girls go for the ribs. DD used to destroy my ribs, I mean just a kicking bag for her. This lil guy I have now is low and likes to sleep most of the time but does enjoy a good jab to the bladder on occasion.
hmr11913, OMG you make me feel like I birth Giants. So your DD is 12m in 12mth clothing. My DD is so ahead of the damn curve we are off the charts at 12m she was in 18m-24m. We are now 20 months and moving into 3T. I need her to just slow the hell down. I refuse to keep buying clothing..so she might be wearing 2T that are now officially "pedal pushers" I now have no comments for the parents where your kid has high waters. Side note yeah that running thing is really cute...till its you trying to corral her at a outside location and your running bent over..they are quick and slippery. AND your preggers LOL. Oh that should be a sight come 1-2 months.
@cahistoryteacher, I am actually going less...only cause I have now stopped drinking 22 oz before bed. I just don't get any sleep trying to hop up all night and pee. My DH actually woke up to ask me if I was ok...I was like yeah..except I had to pee and its hot and well I am uncomfortable and can't go back to sleep. LOL. I am sure he wished he wouldn't of asked. How often do you go to your acupuncturist? I am thinking about starting back up come October till baby gets here. AND on pet peeve...lol yes you are right, move the hell out of the way so I can get out and you can have all this lovely space to yourself.
Appointments this week: regular OB check up tomorrow
Symptoms: None (thank goodness!), just feeling tons of movement one day, followed by a mellow baby the next day.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I've been feeling really grateful lately for how good I've felt in general this whole pregnancy so far. In the beginning it was terrifying to not have a lot of symptoms, but I'm extremely thankful now that I'm moving to 3rd tri in a couple of weeks. We've had a good run, I'm prepared for things to go down hill soon!
GTKY: Ummm.... where to begin? Let's go with commercials - whether it's radio or TV, I can't stand them!! I always turn the station or turn it waaay down and it drives my DH crazy. But I do not want to be screamed at by a car dealer or radio host hawking some electrolysis or whatever else it is.
Winnifred, I definitely have more mellow movement days and ones where she is super active. My doctors appointment last week did help me realize that she moves a lot without me feeling it too. She has recently decided to make my midnight bathroom trips some of her active times too.
fikafairy67, we need a separate thread for annoying things our SO's do, lol! Your QOTW reminds me of how my DH uses our peninsula in the kitchen as his personal dumping ground for tools, mail, dog stuff, etc. And now he's getting sensitive when I ask him to move things... but it drives me crazy! What's the point of all that extra counter space if it just fills up with junk?
mrsp121308, I hope you're feeling better soon! Does your coughing wake baby up at all? I'd be curious about that. And my mom says warsh, wrastling (as in wrestling), wal-marks... I can't stand it.
Lucy, yay for an u/s! I'm jealous. And you're a saint for putting up with all of that, I would be super pissed at my DH and want to throw his brother out entirely.
WineNChocolate, It sounds like you're doing everything you can regarding the extra weight, try not to worry so much (easier said than done)!
@cahistoryteacher, oh man, a lively baby after getting up for the bathroom totally sucks. I had no idea honestly that I would even think about my movements/patterns affecting the baby's activity levels, it sounds totally nuts that I don't want to roll over in bed sometimes because I know she'll wake up and go crazy. I thought that stuff was for after they're born!!
@winenchocolate – she is actually 15 months and in 12 month clothes, lol… she did have a shirt on the other day that was 9 month, however I’m slowly incorporating her 12-18 or 18 month things… she is also a preemie though and is short. (She’s in the 60th %tiles) I know what you mean about chasing after them – she’s been on the move lately too and is running now. LOL.

Week/Team/Fruit: 25/Green for now/Rutabaga (why is it that the word Rutabaga makes me think of Lou Bega and Mambo #5?)
Appointments this week: None until GD test at 28 weeks.
Symptoms: So many baby kicks! And lots of sciatic nerve pain. I carried Cole really high and this baby is staying pretty low. I can't decide which way is more uncomfortable.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I now have Mambo #5 stuck in my head.
GTKY: Do you have any pet peeves? If so, tell us! Right now, people asking me if I know what I'm having. A puppy. I'm having a puppy.
Appointments this week: I had a regular appointment on Tuesday - everything looks good. It literally took the nurse more than 10 minutes to measure baby's heart rate because he kept moving away from the Doppler wand. Glucose test next week, then nothing until the first week of October. This will be my last set of appointments spaced 4 weeks apart - then on to every 2 weeks!
Symptoms: Baby is so busy! I love feeling him move around. Not sleeping great, but otherwise feeling pretty good most of the time.
Rants/Raves/Questions: We got a new (to us) car this past week! Not something we were necessarily planning to do, but a great deal came up so we traded my 11 year old Prius in for a 2015 Prius V. Excited about the extra cargo space (wow, strollers take up a lot of room) plus it is a top package, so it has lots of fun bells and whistles to play with. I think it was definitely a good move for our little family.
GTKY: Do you have any pet peeves? If so, tell us! Hmm...I'm definitely a rule follower, so I'll go with people breaking the rules/not following instructions and not getting in trouble for it.
Post by mrsp121308 on Sept 8, 2016 12:30:01 GMT -5
Winnifred, I haven't noticed my coughing waking her up at night but she tends to be jostled awake by my 3:45am trip to the bathroom. Then she thinks it's playtime and is awake for awhile. Luckily, I'm so used to this now that I can usually ignore her and go back to sleep.
Appointments this week: A week form today! Glucose test, Rhogam shot and regular monthly appointment.
Symptoms: Stuffy/bloody nose. And I'm really starting to feel the balance issues, different center of gravity and clumsiness.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Ready for the weekend. I've been trying to figure out our schedules until the little one arrives, and my husband keeps throwing wrenches in the plan. It's making me crazy, and his response is, "I'll manage the calendar!" No way. If you were in charge, we wouldn't have a calendar. So I'm going to have him focus on the other list items like life insurance and the refinance he initiated. Ugh.
GTKY: Do you have any pet peeves? If so, tell us! Oh man, a lot. My biggest is when I have to repeat myself because someone isn't paying attention. I hate repeating myself! Or being told what to do. My initial response is to do the exact opposite out of sheer stubbornness.
