Week/Team/Fruit:
Appointments this week:
Symptoms:
Rants/Raves/Questions:
GTKY: What does your SO/Husband do that is extremely helpful during this pregnancy? What is annoying?
dke2010 - Twin girls due October piccyami - B/G twins due October kleigh- B/G twins due November Becca - B/G twins due December requiressnacks - B/G twins due December dream2be3 - Twin boys due December @wineandcupcakes- Twins due February nomnom- Twins due February nic1231 - Twins due April mustloveerica - Twins due April
Appointments this week: Nothing until 9/26. A/s 10/7.
Symptoms: I can't seem to feel well rested. Anyone else who is past first tri exhaustion feel this way? Last time I had no kids to take care of and wasn't working full time, so that may play a role. I suppose.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Do you all like being able to eat more or is it a pain trying to eat enough to avoid being hungry?
GTKY: What does your SO/Husband do that is extremely helpful during this pregnancy? What is annoying? MH's help has been pretty limited this time since he's been sore from knee problems and then sore from surgery to fix knee problems. But he's cooked me food a bunch while I run after (or sit with) the kids. I'd eat a lot more pre-made foods if he didn't cook. I'm annoyed that he gets more downtime that I do, which isn't quite fair given his medical issues. I'm also annoyed that he hasn't been dealing with the SS2-related problems. Again, though, that's partly because he's been in pain for weeks and just wanted to focus on fixing that. Sometimes I feel justified in my irritation and sometimes I feel like I'm just being a bitch about things while MH suffers through knee problems (and several prior surgeries the last few years).
Symptoms: I'm actually feeling really great these days. Nausea has gone, acid reflux is gone unless I eat too much, and the fatigue is even letting up a bit. Lack of symptoms of course makes me nervous but I'm trying to remain positive and excited.
RRQ: I had a dentist appointment this morning and told them I was pregnant so I could skip the X-ray (personal al preference) when I told the hygienist it was twins she was so excited and had to tell everyone else. It was funny. But I did find myself getting super light headed laying at the decline for so long during my cleaning. So I was pretty ready to be done at the end.
GTKY: there's not much to do so far. H is excited to build furniture and he's been hard at work making all of the necessary repairs to the baby room (some drywall need to be replaced and all the outlets needed to be rewired). He HATES that I have to go to the baby section of every store tho. So looks like I'll be the one picking everything out (ok with me). He also really doesn't understand that I am not tolerating being hot well. I get overheated, uncomfortable and light headed if I'm outside in the hot humidity for even a short amount of time. So he's always complaining about how I'm not helping him outside. Get over it, man, I'm busy cooking your children.

nomnom, I constantly feel exhausted (granted, I have no kids at home, but I am still working FT). And then of course, I wake up at 2:00 a.m. WIDE AWAKE. It is beyond annoying. I have taken more naps this pregnancy (mainly on vacation/weekends) than I care to admit.
mustloveerica, I find people are excited when they find out I'm pregnant and then when you tell them it's twins they go BSC! It's so fun. And +1 for not tolerating the heat. This weekend was cooler than normal and it felt glorious.
Week/Team/Fruit: 27 weeks/B/G Twins/ Deflated basketballs or Acorn Squashes
Appointments this week: Repeat Glucose Tolerance test on Thursday.
Symptoms: My congestion and insomnia are back! Boo.
Rants/Raves/Questions: I am definitely starting to slow down. I can't believe 3rd tri is next week!
GTKY: What does your SO/Husband do that is extremely helpful during this pregnancy? What is annoying?
Can you tell I was thinking about MH when I wrote this question? We have been having some growing pains lately, in terms of preparing for babies and getting everything in order. But, in his defense, he has picked up a lot of my slack in the cooking and cleaning department. But he annoys the shit out of me when he expects me to do a lot of the heavy lifting with him while getting the nursery together. Sorry dude, I'm not helping you lift that dresser up the stairs.
requiressnacks I have fun too when people exclaim about my set of twins and how I must have my hands full. I tell them I have another set coming in February and their eyes almost fall out of their heads. To YH: Heavy lifting is supposed to be done close to your body so you don't hurt your back. There is no more close to your body with two babies in the way.

I can only imagine the reactions you get!
And yes! I can't lift anything near my body because I HAVE THESE TWO BABIES IN THE WAY. (That's me yelling at MH, not you. haha)
Week/Team/Fruit: 9w6d /unsure still / size of a jack
Appointments this week: Next appt follow up 9/12, 12w appt 9/21
Symptoms: Occasional nausea
Rants/Raves/Questions: Picked out our paint color for the nursery. Nervous about work not letting me work under restrictions and having to do bed rest
GTKY: What does your SO/Husband do that is extremely helpful during this pregnancy? What is annoying? He's always doubling checking that I've taken my vitamins, asking how I'm feeling etc. He gets a little overboard which makes me want to slap him but it's his first pregnancy to go through and first kids so I know he is nervous
Thanks for the check-in requiressnacks! I am not ashamed of the # of naps I've taken, which has been A LOT. lol
Week/Team/Fruit: 23w5d/blue/barbie doll
Appointments this week: GD check-up Wednesday and an ultrasound Thursday
Symptoms:None
Rants/Raves/Questions:I seriously hate waiting a month between appts. Twinkie B has been very inactive the last few days so I'm starting to freak out. He's usually my partier and I have always been able to get him going by laying on my left side. That has not worked lately. Hoping he just changed positions.
GTKY: What does your SO/Husband do that is extremely helpful during this pregnancy? What is annoying? He has been doing the bulk of the cleaning, although he generally makes the mess. He's been cooking dinner most nights so that has been nice. However, I am about to kick his ass out though. He has not quit smoking despite many, many deadline extensions. He doesn't appear to be making much of an effort to quit either. Quitting has been part of the deal since before we even started fertility treatments 2.5 years ago so it's not like this is news to him. I've had to make all these lifestyle changes for the twinkies, which I gladly did and without hesitation, and he's made no changes whatsoever.
Appointments this week: Had my first of 2 today. My BP was good up until today, when it jumped way up for me and my weight jumped and my swelling is back. The ob wants me in bed rest until these guys are here. I go back to the MFM on Thursday.
Symptoms: Besides the swelling and no issues, constipation and difficulty breathing. Yay asthma.
GTKY: H has been awesome about picking up the slack when I physically can't do things anymore. The most annoying thing he's done is constantly asking me if I need to go to the hospital for whatever ailment I have at the moment. No, I don't need to go to the hospital because the babies are kicking the crap out of me.
nomnom, I'm tired all the time. It isn't just you.
mustloveerica, My hygienist is also currently pregnant. She said that although it is perfectly safe, she is also avoiding getting x-rays done and advised me to do the same. I'm taking her advice.
requiressnacks, I cannot believe third trimester starts for us next week. This is getting so close.
nic1231, What color did you end up picking out for the nursery?
dream2be3, You're B sounds like my A. I feel him move so infrequently it gets my super nervous. I totally get what you are saying.
piccyami, Bed rest doesn't sound like fun. Hopefully you won't need to be on it too long.
Week/Team/Fruit: 27 weeks/Purple/Bunch of bananas
Appointments this week: Nothing until next week
Symptoms: So extremely tired, all the time. Feet and hands are starting to swell, no more rings being worn here.
Rants/Raves/Questions: It doesn't seem to matter how much I eat, I'm not gaining any weight. Hopefully my Dr. will have some suggestions next week. I think I've only gained 15 pounds so far, which doesn't seem to be enough.
GTKY: What does your SO/Husband do that is extremely helpful during this pregnancy? What is annoying? Helpful/annoying would be the same thing here- he doesn't let me do much of anything. If DH would have his way I would be in a bubble until these twins arrive. If there is any chance I could hurt myself or the twins he won't let me do it. It is very sweet, but sometimes I don't want to rely on him so much.

Is there room for 3 more? I've been lurking the past week since I got the news that I'm having twins! My friend @feegan said I needed head over here.
Week/Team/Fruit: 10 + 2 / Green / kumquat
Appointments this week: My first appoint was last week. I go in again at the end of the month.
Symptoms: Lots of nausea and headaches. Was in bed most of yesterday with a migraine And I'm tired all. the. time.
Rants/Raves/Questions: None at the moment.
GTKY: What does your SO/Husband do that is extremely helpful during this pregnancy? What is annoying? Lately DH has been handling a couple bedtimes a week so I can get an extra hour of sleep. It's a welcome perk since I'm the default parent for DD (14 months). DH sleep habits really annoy me. He's super loud when getting ready for bed and waking up in the morning. He whines and groans and snores and it takes all of my self control not to smother him with his pillow.
nomnom I get tired of trying to eat all the time. I know I need to in order to gain weight and have healthy babies, but sometimes I run out of good options. dream2be3 I would be so frustrated with your DH. I hope he realizes how important it is for you. piccyami Sorry to hear you'll be on bed rest. Just remember the end is in sight!
Appointments this week: I had an ultrasound to check fluid yesterday. Everything looked great. Thankfully the BHs haven't make any progress.
Symptoms: BHs, pelvic pain, lots of discomfort
Rants/Raves/Questions: I think we're finally ready for the girls' arrival. The nursery is done, the laundry is clean, and the bags are mostly packed. I'm so relieved.
GTKY: What does your SO/Husband do that is extremely helpful during this pregnancy? What is annoying? DH has been taking care of more things around the house, especially when he realizes how uncomfortable I am. Although sometimes it seems like he still thinks I can do most of my normal responsibilities.
@wineandcupcakes My large boobs make my belly look like a possible food baby. At least from my perspective. Last time I didn't realize how huge my belly was until MH took a picture from the side while I was sitting down.
@wineandcupcakes I am also a FTM, but am plus size. I haven't gained any weight and although I thought I was starting to show around 16/17ish weeks, my friends didn't think I looked pregnant until I was almost 21 weeks (2 weeks ago). People are surprised when they find out I'm about 6 months WITH twins.
@wineandcupcakes, I didn't look pregnant for a really long time, even though I started wearing maternity type clothes early, thanks to ivf bloat. Some days, it was a little more obvious that it wasn't just a food baby (because also plus size) when I was wearing real maternity clothes.
@wineandcupcakes Because full-panel maternity pants make me feel sick while pregnant. Cannot handle any pressure on my belly. I got some under-belly maternity pants that so far keep falling down. At least nothing is uncomfortably squished.

Over belly worked for me for a month or two. They're way too tight now. Underbelly pants are too tight under the belly and don't stay up. I've resorted to the two under belly maternity skirts I bought for work. Yoga pants are even uncomfortable now.

At 27 weeks, I have definitely emerged into "pregnant and not fat" territory. It took a little while. haha.
@wineandcupcakes Scrubs are awesome! I wish I could wear them for work.
piccyami I'm sticking with pants as long as I can this time so I can chase my LOs. I wore nothing but dresses at the end last time. Did not want a waistband of any sort.
@wineandcupcakes I love my full panels and have been wearing them since about 10 weeks because I find them so comfy. I will say the thickness/weight of the panel makes a big difference. I got a pair of hand me downs that came from Motherhood maternity several years ago and the panel is thick/heavy and are no longer very comfortable. I bought a new pair this summer from there and the panel is very light and stretchy, which I love. I also found the full panels from JCP are also nice and light/stretchy.
@wineandcupcakes, I don't know if you are starting to shop for a lot of stuff yet, but there are a bunch of multiples yard sales coming up soon around the state.
GTKY: What does your SO/Husband do that is extremely helpful during this pregnancy? What is annoying? Helpful he picks up whatever I've decided sounds good for dinner, it changes nightly. Annoying his total disinterest in the registry, ugh
