We need coffee STAT!
Baby up every 2-3 hours last night. I think it's time to sleep train. Give this weenie all of your hints to make it easy. I've just been waiting for her not to be sick.
Her 9 month appt is this morning even though she's now closer to 10 months.
I'm off until 7pm today and if both of these kiddos don't go to DC I will panic (someone has been sick every day for 2 weeks).
We are also going to attempt sleep training #2 next maybe as early as tomorrow night - but definitely this weekend. DH was all crabby as hell this morning because F would not immediately go back down after he got up this morning (and while I had to shower and get ready for work).
I'm guessing we are going to try CIO again. What we did the first time was stay in the room until he fell asleep but I'm not sure that is a good idea. Checks definitely did not work for us - it would just rile him up even more. So we may do CIO but go in to try and soothe at 45 minutes?

I was so confused by the title lol. I questioned if I really knew what day it was. After a pretty decent night the night before, E decided 2:30am was a good time to wake up and party. This morning all three of us look like hell.
Ugh DH has had a meltdown this morning. I can't tell if it is for real or if having a whole weekend being sick and then having a baby that isn't good at naps this morning was enough to set him off. In any case - he says he's done with SAHD and so I guess I get to start researching day care.

Now DH is asking to go watch the baseball game at a friend's house right after I get home from work tonight, like no big deal. Okaaaayyyyy. So I'm just going to figure out the child care / sleep training thing by myself I guess.

maybe that's better so he can't second guess your decisions? for what it's worth, I have a friend whose daughter did not do well with intervals either and they ended up having to do CIO. It sucked but she said itw as worth it....I might need to start that since K is an a*hole baby too.

This is so true. I was originally going to do CIO with a max time of 45 minutes. No checks. That turned into staying in the room until he fell asleep and then eventually checks and even picking him up. All at dh's requests. Then he tells me he thinks that WE haven't been consistent enough and that is causing all the problems. No shit Sherlock, that's what I've been saying for a while. Ugh, men!!

I think we'll do cio with interval checks. Not tonight though. I work til 11 and this is my fave. Cat thought I was a great middle of the night launch pad from his skirmish with the dog.

proceedwithcaution, ow that sucks. winogirl, I don't even know. I'm sorry for the rough patch. colinsfebmommy, heheheeh E's still rocking 9 month clothes. I just put away some 6 month shorts that became booty shorts. Lord knows they still fit her waist and legs.

proceedwithcaution ouch! We have one cat that does that frequently off us but she usually gets my husband.
winogirl hugs! I ended up ultimately doing CIO with naps and like you just set a max time for us. If it makes you feel any better, it only took one time. We still aren't sttn but she's in the crib which was our biggest struggle.

What time did you set for naps? I think getting him to nap in the crib would be a HUGE help

DD2 is trying so hard to pull up and stand but then gets so frustrated and just throws herself across the floor. She is learning to master the steps though which is terrifying. My first didn't walk until 15 months and do all this stuff until at least 11 months so I was OK with her waiting. She doesn't care though

It was 45 minutes, she went until 40. She would stop for a few minutes, start back up, and repeat.

I spent the last 2 rainy raw days washing and putting the boys' fall clothes in their dressers.
DS1 is bordering on 4T (he will be 3 at the end of next month). Half his clothes from the winter still fit (3T) so I only really needed to pick up a few things so I wouldn't be doing laundry every day.
DS2 gets all DS1's oldies but goodies. He's just fitting into 18 mos. DS1 was one month older this same time 2 yrs ago but basically the same size. Fingers crossed DS2 doesn't have a massive growth spurt haha.
Selfish note: now I can use the money I set aside for new clothes for them, for new clothes for me. I never buy new clothes, ever haha

Hmm, maybe I'll have to start tomorrow with naps and see how it goes.
Fwiw, checks were a no-go here too and we ended up at straight CIO. First night was about 50 mins. Second time was about 20. Each time since has been less than 5.

Our sleep training attempts have been absolute shit winogirl. We have tried CIO w checks and that gets him more upset. We have tried CIO w no checks and he can go all night. He just moans and wails for hours. I literally have no idea how I'm ever going to get him to stop waking up so much.
