Those using a shield- do you notice your LO eating less because of it? I must be using it incorrectly, he doesn't seem to get as much milk when I use the shield, so I'm having to tough it out.
I saw an LC In the beginning and I think I remember her saying baby gets less with the shield.

I'm pretty sure babies get less milk through the shield, which is why it's recommended to wean when you can.
The antibiotics (that I'm not even responding to) are reeking havoc on my supply. I've burned through my freezer stash. I went from pumping 4-6 oz in a sitting to barely getting 2. I'm scared my milk will dry up and I'll have to put her on formula full time. I've started putting fennel oil on again. Hopefully this will help.
I'm sorry. Are you still getting enough fluids? Can you up your fluids even more? If you keep nursing & pumping your supply should recover even if it dips (dips are common with illness, ovulation, menstruation and women still BF after all those).
Ugh, the lengthy session of sleep backfired on me. LO waited 4.5hrs before eating again, I gladly fed him my engorged boobs. 2 hours later, he was rooting again, I figure maybe he didn't get enough since my capacity sucks. Well... He spat up all over me just now, projectile vomiting. Both of us needed q change of clothing. Now he's fussing and rooting again, I'm too afraid to feed him again. Breastfed babies can be overfed.
I feel like I drool significantly more now. I used to grind my teeth and that habit is back too, so I'm wearing my night guard.
Man, I'm so glamorous!
I catch myself grinding and clenching constantly. I give myself migraines with how often I do it. I can't stop myself either. I may need to invest in a mouth guard.
9 week spurt is not cool at all. I had to bust into my stash. When the heck is it going to end, going on six days.
Ugh. I feel like I'm still hungover from the 6 week spurt. Sitting at 8w2days and my bewbs...my poor, sweet tits.
I have came to the point of giving LO a little bit of rice cereal in his milk. It seemed to work tonight, normally after 3 oz, he would be hollering for 1-2oz more but, he is quiet now.
I hear ya on the tatas. Couple days ago, I did 24 hours of pumping and bottle feedings and they felt a lot better. I have given up wearing a bra at night. I need for them to get calluses and toughen up. Lanolin was making them too tender for feeding.

My water intake is normally great. I will admit that I have still been feeling dehydrated though. DH went And got more water for our machine. I've burned through a 5 gallon jug in 3 days. I'm glad I like water.

My lactation person said that too. Less/slower through the sheild as long as they latch correctly.
My appt with the lc was good, but now I feel like I can't get a comfortable football hold on my own. They're always there to adjust the pillow. My wrist hurts.
Oh and of course the latch was great for her.
But he's up to 8lb 10oz from 6 15 on the 11th. Nearly 2 pounds in 20 days! Little oinker. I'll reiterate that breastfed babies can overeat.
Also, he ate for 10 min and took in 3oz! No wonder he spits up after our 20, 30, 40 min sessions. (Though I'm sure a lot of that is pacifing)

Why does your wrist hurt in football? Are you holding the pillow or baby the whole time? I found myself having to hold the nursing pillow for football on the couch and somehow putting a square throw pillow behind my back fixed the problem.

I hold the baby. The angle seemed awkward, but it's what I did with the lc; but she was able to get a pillow wedged under my arm so it didn't get tired. Maybe I need to find some videos.

At my.last weighted feed at the lc group they said he took in 5 oz which I don't see how that is possible. With a bottle he can only do like 4.5....dh let him eat about 5 oz yesterday and he spit up after that...he isn't a huge spitter either.
All of a sudden baby is consistently spitting up 1-2 hours after feeding and would scream until I pick him up. There went the nice baby that slept between feedings.
Ugh. I feel like death and LO has been up to feed every hour since midnight. I am so tempted to buy formula just to sleep right now. She's not getting enough to fill her belly and is screaming her poor little lungs out. I seriously can't even.
I'm wondering if lip ties get worse as ds gets older. The bigger he gets the harder it is to breastfeed. Now it takes about 5 minutes to get a latch, he pops off constantly and has started licking. His latch is also always shallow so it always hurts when we finally get a latch.
Unfortunately dh's work didn't turn in Gus paperwork for insurance on time so ds hasn't had insurance for a week so I can't schedule with the pedi dentist for consulting or revision. Calling insurance again tomorrow.
I don't think it gets worse so much as their coping with it gets worse. I know DS was doing a lot of things to passively get milk into his mouth and still does them after the revision, but is getting better. We were able to get a deeper latch with the help of a LC before the revision and I've tried some suck training with him to help correct the lazy habits.
Ugh insurance companies. We still haven't gotten DS's social security card in the mail so we still are in a holding pattern for adding him to insurance. We got his bill from the hospital today and I'd REALLY like to not have to pay the whole thing while we wait.
Our insurance let us enroll without the SS number; we can give it to them later. I'd contact your benefits person at work for help since it takes a while to get a number.
I really wish I'd gotten a sidecar for our bed so I could just roll DS over into it after nursing without the hassle of trying not to jar him awake. Sleep during the day baby!

Ugh LO is up and it's 4am. Usually he does not wake til 5. Pretty please with sugar on top, go back to sleep LO. 5am is somewhat doable, 4am on the other hand.....

Ok, I needed that laugh after this morning's spit-up-splosion. My pedi said, "they're greedy and will keep eating if you let them".

I hate the football hold! I can never get comfortable and I'm convinced there is a secret to it that I'm missing.
I wonder if I lean way back with cross cradle is that's "elevated" enough. Then again, if he's overeating, if I am better about doing him to burp and what not can I go back to my beloved cross cradle? When do they out grow the spit up again? Phew.
This also makes it hard to know if he just wants to suck, if he actually is still hungry, if he's cluster feeding, or going through a growth spurt.
