PSA if you are buying NFL gear for your LOs. The baby hats run absurdly small. We got a gift that was a a onsie, hat and bib in 3-6 month size and the hat is comically small. LO still fits into 0-3 month hats and has a very small head. The stuff is so cute but bummed the hat is too small.
YESSS!! I work with a lot of food science people and we are all super depressed about this.
Like this changes almost everything the nutrition field has believed, instructed, and prescribed for decades.
HARVARD! IMO this super tarnished their reputation. And validates some conspiracy theorists too.
Wow. That's...uh... Your head must be exploding--great timing for this to come out in your final term. I hope this isn't going to affect your research or dissertation at all?

Not at all! I've been studying high fat diets for years. If anything this helps my cause.
J hasn't ever STTN. We usually have anywhere from 2-4 wakeups a night.
Last night I got home from work and she was sound asleep. I go to get in the shower and she screams. Like, screamed that I thought she was seriously injured- she has NEVER screamed like that (and she had occasional random short screaming fits during the night). I have no idea what happened- she was safe in her crib, on her back. Even when I picked her up she was still hysterical. Poor buddy.

Never STTN here either. Longest was 6 hours, maybe twice. Of course I went to bed much later, so I only got like 4. Brady did some weird whimpering last night and cried out while sleeping. I was holding him. I didn't hear it any more while he was alone in his room. I'm not sure what that was either!
Does anyone here have experience with or an in with someone who would have details/advice on getting in to Mayo Clinic?
I have a few relatives who have gone there but I don't recall it being hard for them to get in, do you want me to ask them more specifics? My mom goes there regularly, my dad gets his annuals done there, BIL had surgery there, I have a few extended family relatives who have gone as well.

So E can roll but only to the left. This causes a problem in her crib when she rolls into the side of it and wakes up screaming. I never had this issue with dd1. So what do I do? Is there a way to help her learn to go the other way? Or should this silliness just all end soon.

We had this problem too at first... LO figured out how to roll the other way maybe a week or two after she rolled the one way. She definitely still has a favorite way but she can do both ways now...

I don't know if this applies in the case of rolling, but I read you should switch the way you lay them down in the crib so they don't always have their head turned the same direction. So I lay her down with her head pointed east for naps & west for overnight.
It's not as big a deal now bc she spins all around.
After reading my words back, I feel like I'm "that" mom. Just ignore me.

Nope - he has STTN since...8ish weeks? I think? We typically do oatmeal and a veggie around 6-6:30, then he'll drink a few ounces (3-6) before bed (7ish) and be good until the morning. He is FF, so that might make a difference. He went through about a week and a half in mid-August where he was waking up and would guzzle 6-8 ounces, but seems to be done with that. Guessing it was a growth spurt.
Has his wake up time been consistent? E has STTN since about 12 weeks but he's been waking up between 5-6 for the last two weeks. Previously he'd go till like 7:30.... Ugh.
He is fairly consistent. He was sleeping until 7ish, but transitioned himself to the 5:30-6ish wakeup he needs for daycare.

Thank you! I was thinking earlier today about starting a fall recipe thread. Mm.

EJ hasn't sttn yet but she's done one wake up a few times since the four month sleep regression started. Before four months she was waking up once or twice. Since we moved her to the crib a month ago our nights have improved dramatically. She usually wakes up once or twice, three times on a bad night. She typically wakes up between 10-11 and the second time is unpredictable. She is small (14 lbs 2 oz at her check up last week) so the pedi said she might not sttn for a while because she still needs to eat at night hut that between 9-12 months we should be ready to work on sleep.

I'm talking the big clinic in Rochester. A specialist in Dallas told my step-mom that they won't bill insurance. I just can't believe that.

Yup, that's the one I am talking too. That is total bullshit, they absolutely bill insurance. Are they out of your network?? ETA: whoops, I mean out of her network. But still... why would a specialist know that or think that?! That's just bizarre.

Well, we live in Texas so I'm betting they are out of network.

You would be surprised... it is worth a shot at least! I have multiple family members in the state where I live (not MN) who have gone!

You definitely might be surprised. I have MA insurance and am in Texas and have never had any problems. My company issues MA insurance to all its employees bc MA has the strictest coverage rules of any of the states where they operate so if they didn't they might have to get different insurance for the ppl in MA, so instead they give MA to everyone, even though most of the employees are in Texas and Maryland.

+1 I have CA insurance and I'm in Michigan. Never had a problem.

Are we crazy to be considering a two week trip next June that is roughly 2600 miles total? Our children would be 1 and 2. It would be drive one day, stop one for 3 days, drive two days, stop two for 3 days, drive two days, stop three for three days then one long day to drive home.

Crazy, yes. But so are we, as we will be doing a similar road trip at the same time. We will be driving cross country to visit family and the "plan" is to take a week to get to our destination (similar to your schedule), then take a week to get back. We can always post here to commiserate with each other
Flights are expensive yo. And 2 kids + a dog + 6 hour flight = Big fat NOPE.

Have not caught up on things, but I have to laugh about this here before I forget.
I spent today at a friend's lovely bachelorette party. When I left after a late dinner, all the ladies there were excitedly planning a night of booze and karaoke. Meanwhile, I was secretly thrilled because I got a text about laundry detergent from my SIL and figured out how to use cruise control in the car for the long drive home. Oh me.
