Warning: Bath Toy Squirtees - DO NOT BUY

So you all know the cute little squirt toys for the bathtub... we had registered for some and received a few more at the shower and got them out when G was able to sit in the tub, so it's been awhile... however, this weekend I had squirted her with one while in the tub and saw that something had came out of it.... so I cut it open and there was brown gunk - not sure if it was actually mold or what it was but needless to say it was nasty and I threw them all away. I looked it up online and apparently it's a well known concern because of them not airing out correctly (even though I always squirted them empty before putting them away). 

Just a heads up!

We have some, but I periodically disinfect them with vinegar. I make a big bowl of half water and half white vinegar, and I soak all the toys, making sure to get the vinegar water inside the squeazy toys. I just leave them soaking all day. So far that's worked pretty well.

That's a good idea! Have you ever cut one open to see if it works?

I would never use the snot ball thing...... nose frieda fo life here!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone must buy one - even if it makes you gag while doing it. LOL

Yeah, the bath toys are pretty gross. I tossed them because I was too scared to cut them open. I've always said I was going to try the vinegar, but now I'm really going to.

W, you may think differently once you have a baby that hates the booger sucker and it doesn't get out any boogers. But yes, a snot free baby please!!!! LOL.

I'm with hmr11913. NoseFrida all the way! It SERIOUSLY is the only thing that works - I'm buying another one for DD!

We had the same issue with bath toys - now we only buy the bucket or cup type toys. If it can go in the dishwasher, it's allowed to stay in the house.

NOSE FRIDA FOR LIFE! Works so much better than the bulb. I love it.

But now my toddler knows how to blow his own nose, so WINNING

YES --- those bulbs SUCKED (not literally!).... and we tried several different ones, including the small ones with the clear bulb that you can take apart and wash. Junk! 

I've given her little cups before in the tub, but she likes to drink the water out of them then..... bleh. I just ordered these cute little guys!

Ew! Like others I immediately thought of the snot suckers when I saw this. I think I'm just going to throw ours out because they've been sitting untouched for a while. Ick!

SO I should give a PSA announcement on another thing that can do that! And that is the Nostril Cleaner you will get from the hospital or I am sure at a shower for lil one. IF you do not rinse with vinegar and water on a regular basis you will get mold. I don't use them anymore I use the nose Freida I know they are kind of a gross concept but they are really much better at getting the snot and well its easy to clean and change the filters.

Also.... I totally agree on the bulb suckers, not only can they be nasty on the inside, but IMO they do not work. #nosefrieda
