I've seen a few double strollers on some local swap sites that are tandom and not side by side. I was looking at a side by side but questioning if it really matters.
It's all personal preference. We prefer our City Select since it doesn't take up the entire sidewalk and we can bring it into most restaurants/shops in our village (we live 2 blocks to town) and it fits comfortably. Also, we used it as a single with DD1 before our twins and now as a triple (2 seats plus glider board).
If that doesn't matter to you, you might like a side by side better. I'd go to a store like Buy Buy Baby or Babies r Us and check them out next to each other.
Just a heads up, but babies r us doesn't have much in the way of double stroller selection. I pretty much wound up ordering online (from Amazon) and hoping I liked what I got. I'll most likely be buying another in the spring at the next multiples sale if I figure out what I want before then.

I have my eye on the Contours Options Elite tandem. It seems to be the more affordable version of the city select. Anyone have any thoughts on the contours?

We LOVE our City Select. We also have a double BOB, but my babies aren't old enough for it yet. The main reasons I chose City Select were that I could get adapters and click in both infant car seats, it's a little shorter than the joovy twin roo since one seat is higher than the other, and most of the side-by-side strollers we looked at would only accommodate one infant car seat.

No thoughts but that is the one I registered for. Price was the main reason I chose it and you can get the car seat adapters.

@wineandcupcakes, of course I am happy to share!! I admit I was overwhelmed by the options when I went into BBB and BRU so I came back home and started researching online. I really like L.ucies L.ist of twin essentials and ended up using it as my main guide. I had initially planned on using infant car seats and a frame stroller until we needed a full size stroller. But I have a really hard time purchasing something that isn't a multi tasker, it just seems like a waste! I ended up making my decision based on these features:
Maxi cosi mico max- they have lots of harness options including one for newborns and extra side protection, they are lighter than most and I also like the way this one fits on my arm vs. the chico.
Bumbleride Indie-this thing is crazy expensive but I like that it will last until we are done with strollers! It holds 90lbs (more than others) it has air filled tires (smoother push/ride and can go on the sand), it will fit through regular doors, the seats recline almost all the way down so you can use it from birth and the canopies are huge.
I think that's it, honestly it all starts to run together and I had to just pick something because researching it all the time was driving me nuts! Good luck!

I'm thinking of doing the bumbleride indie twin and maxi cosi car seats, does anyone have this combo?
As someone who is lazy and 17 weeks pregnant and hasn't managed to research a damn thing...can I mooch off your knowledge?
Why did you pick each of these items?
Did you look into the Chico Keyfit, and if so, what made you choose the maxi cosi?
We purchased 2 Chicco Keyfits this weekend. For us, we need something that will work for 3 seats across in my Subaru. My H is going to install them next weekend to see if they fit.
