We are holding out until 16 weeks to tell our parents about the babies and I was wondering if anyone had really cute ideas for announcing. These will be the very first grandchildren! We will have to tell mine over the phone but we can tell his mother, father and stepmother in person. I've been on Pinterest for an hour and my eyes are crossing! Thank you ladies!

We announced ours to our families at Thanksgiving. For each family dinner, we brought the dish we said we were bringing as well as a decoy dish that had 2 onesies in it and we just waited for someone to open the dish to see their surprise. It was really fun and simple. Let me hop on Tapatalk real quick, I have a picture of the one we took to DH's grandma's when we were bringing "pizza". GL!

Were having a bunch of extended family over for a Halloween party in October. I got these shirts off of Etsy. We'll see how long it takes people to notice.

My twinkies will also be the first grandchildren. I announced to my parents pretty early on as they knew when we transferred and approximately when I would know if it worked. It was Mother's Day and I tied a pacifier to a note card that said something like "Dear Grandma, please hold onto this for me as I'm sure my mommy will forget it when we come to visit." I got it off Pinterest. My mom cried. I didn't know yet that it was twins. I knew before Father's Day so to make that announcement I found a shirt on Amazon that said "I can't calm down. My daughter is having twins" and gave to my dad.
I played it cool. I just texted my mom an image from the first ultrasound. She texted back "what am I looking at?" I asked her what she thought she was looking at. It took her a moment to make sense of it, then the excitement set in. ☺

These are the first grandchildren for my parents. On mothers day I gave my mom a gift with one pair of booties in it. Both of my parents were super excited over that. DH and I then handed them the ultrasound to look through. My mom then noticed that some of the U/S had an "A" on it, some had a "B" and then there were some with both. Once she realized why and we confirmed it was twins she started crying. DH's parents already have two grandchildren. He just causally dropped into conversation with them we were doubling the number of their grandkids. It took them a few minutes to understand what he was saying.
I showed my parents a "new painting we'd found. It was actually our chalkboard frame with the writing: Double the trouble, Twice the fun....we are having Two not One! Due : Feb 2017
